Beyond the Gates Weekly Recap: Hayley’s Scheme Finally Blows Up

This week on Beyond The Gates…we have a lot to discuss so we will be switching to the dailies for this week. Strap in.

Monday

Hayley meets Caroline at the club; they discuss Bill and have salon treatments. Hayley whines because she is constantly looking for pity. She sees Izaiah and makes her way over to flirt but is impeded by Andre. Andre tells her to worry about her husband and why he was blowing up Dani’s phone the whole time that they were in Seoul.

Joey is upset that Heather bought The Uptown; he wanted it. Meanwhile, Heather is there setting up an employee to be fired. The optics are horrible, but we now know that MJV and Crew do not care, in my humble opinion. Vanessa comes in, and they catch up; Vanessa blabs that Dani has returned from Seoul, and Heather suggests that they have a girls' night out. Meanwhile, she will be expecting Andre to put up.

Bill tells Dani that he thinks he is dying. They talk, and Dani asks the right questions, leading to her to become suspicious of Hayley. She doesn’t get to voice her suspicions because Bill has a seizure and becomes unresponsive.

Tuesday

Nicole works with Jacob to build a profile of The Impaler; it would have been nice to see her do this sooner and better, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers. They talk about Smitty, but Jacob avoids some of that questioning.

Dani calls Naomi over; she lays out her suspicions about Hayley. Naomi doesn’t quite buy it, but Dani tells her about the life insurance policy and the mansion in St. Barts. Naomi agrees to distract Hayley while Dani goes to find evidence.

Meanwhile, Madison runs tests on Bill and even orders a CT Scan but cannot find out what caused his seizures. She is determined. He tells her not to tell anyone he is here. He later calls Caroline, and fills her in and tells her not to tell Hayley. Of course, she agrees. Chelsea sees Caroline and knows that Bill is there. She finds his room.

Hayley acts like a bitch to Naomi and doesn’t trust her; the irony is ridiculous. She insists on leaving after a bit. Meanwhile, Dani is searching the house, collecting evidence, and finds the documents that she needs in the safe. Just as she was looking for one more tidbit, she hears Hayley come in and tries to hide; she does so terribly. Hayley asks what the hell she is doing in her house, and that is the end of the episode.

Wednesday

Randy and Joey discuss Heather and the moves that she is making. Meanwhile, Vanessa brings over wine to Dani’s, but only Andre is there. She fills him in on Heather and the incident with Nicole and how Nicole went to Joey for help. This gives Andre an idea.

He later goes to Joey for help; more on this in the wrap-up. Andre is terrified of Heather, Joey blows him off until Andre shows him a video that we do not see. Joey insists that Andre turn over his phone, and he does. Joey won’t give it back and tells Andre he will handle it as he sees fit.

Chelsea is worried about Bill, and he explains that he didn’t want anyone to know about his hospital stay. 

Hayley pulls a gun on Dani. Thinking that this was the end of Dani, Hayley goes on a villain monologue that is not suited for the person performing the monologue. In any case, she admits to everything and lays out exactly how she will kill Dani and why she would get away with it. Lucky for Dani, Naomi clued Jacob in, and they get there in the nick of time. Dani and Hayley are arrested and taken down to the station.

Thursday

Dani and Hayley are interrogated. Hayley wants her lawyer and calls Tomas. Naomi warns Tomas, but that smug-faced robot doesn’t listen. Marcel catches Hayley trying to discard the vial of poison. Jacob has it taken in for testing.

Dani goes home and fills Andre in. Meanwhile, Anita and Vernon learn of the arrest at the club because Leslie tells them. Of course she does; the Duprees can’t breathe without her being involved. They go to Dani’s, and she fills them in on everything.

Jacob gets a warrant and goes to the hospital to serve it. It is a warrant for Bill’s blood. Bill thinks it is ridiculous because he is so ego-driven. He calls the judge to have the warrant reversed.

The testing comes back on the contents of the vial: ethylene glycol, a slow-acting poison. Jacob comes back into Bill’s room and tells him to hang up the call. He tells him what they found, and Madison explains that this would explain his symptoms and why it did not show up in his testing. Bill agrees to the blood test.

Friday

Bill’s blood has ethylene glycol, and Hayley is arrested and booked. Leslie watches in the background. She tries to explain it away as Bill and Dani enter, confronting her.  They leave, and she gets her mugshot photos taken. She calls Randy to bail her out, but he is busy. Leslie bails out her “bestie” and Hayley isn’t grateful.

Hayley goes home to change, then goes to confront Randy, who steals a few thousand from Joey to help her out. The last time he stole, Joey put a bounty on his head. Hayley goes to the hospital, Bill curses her out, and she tells him that he will do nothing or else she will start talking. Since we know that no criminals pay for their crimes, we know Hayley won’t be going to jail.

Final Thoughts on the Week

This week was actually good and about time the stories started to ramp up. Hopefully this is a change for the better. My only complaint is Joey and his sister. The fact that Joey emasculates men on this show who are supposed to be powerful is mind-boggling to me.
