This week on Beyond The Gates, the Kill Bill story STILL dragged on, and Andre comes face to face with the stalker. Bill and Hayley behave like children. Nicole hosts an open mic night in her home, and Tomas undermines Naomi. Let’s get into Soap Wire’s weekly breakdown.
Male Pride
Naomi Vs. Tomas
Tomas receives a call from Mike, the misogynistic sexual harasser, regarding Madison’s case. He claims Naomi has dropped the ball, which very well could be a lie. The thing about this show is that it is heavily male-focused, often to the detriment of every woman on the canvas.
Tomas takes the call and, instead of calling Naomi, decides to insert himself into the situation. Naomi is at the office when Madison, whom Tomas DID call, comes in. They catch up, and Naomi learns that Tomas called her in. Tomas then informs Naomi that Mike is coming over to discuss the case.
Mike arrives, is rude to Naomi, and tries to pressure Madison into settling. Instead of backing Naomi, Tomas wants to hear him out and proceeds to undermine her in front of her client.Bill needs to fire him. The entire exchange worries Madison, whom Naomi later reassures. Naomi eventually goes to see Bill and tells him what happened. Bill assures her that he will handle Tomas.
Bill Vs. His Health and His Stupidity
Shanice gives Hayley the bright idea to sex Bill into heart failure. Bill, thinking with his lower brain, does not catch on. He participates and irks the staff when his alarms go off. Shanice and Ashley take issue with it, and Ashley has Hayley removed for the night. Hayley is nasty to Ashley and, frankly, had me, a staunch Ashley hater, defending her. She tries to pull rank over Ashley, and when she is still escorted out, she later cries to Bill, and they file a complaint.
Bill is insisting on being discharged without being in the clear. He thinks that the pacemaker solves all of his problems. Again, he is a moron. Hayley talks about going to St. Barts and her need for a vacation; no red flags go up for Bill…at all.
Later Ted visits, when Bill is down about Andre after his talk with Vernon, who praises Andre for being the husband Bill never was. We all know that sound, don’t we? Andre is about to be sacrificed at the altar of Bill. The cheaters talk about their friendship, which Bill had forgotten about when he went to Joey to take care of his family when he is gone. I’ll digress, though. Anywho, the cheaters bond and call it Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. It is almost like someone was watching the movie and decided at that moment to name these characters Bill and Ted. Anyway, I don’t much care for the characters, but I like their portrayals and find them mostly entertaining to watch in the love-to-hate way. So, their scenes were nice.

Bunny Boiler
As we saw coming a mile away, Heather is Andre’s stalker. It seems that Andre may know a little about her illegal dealings. During their hotel meetup, he went from terrified to…I cannot describe it, a little turned on, maybe?
Heather wants to talk about the good ole days and how she never expected a player like him to settle down. Hello, Lisa Niles, anyone? She doesn’t care that he is married; she outright comes on to him. He turns her down multiple times, but he also does not tell Dani what is going on.
Heather shows up to Orphey’s where Andre and Dani are having dinner. Dani is delighted to see her and offers for her to join them. Heather gleefully accepts, and Andre looks uncomfortable. When she finally leaves, Dani tells him how they met and that she wants to get to know her. Andre tries to dissuade her. However, Dani is Dani, and she is determined.
Later, Andre goes to see Heather; this will be a regular thing, I am guessing. Insert bombastic side eye. Anyway, he asks her if she stalked him to Orphey’s and she denies it. She likes Dani and didn’t want it to be weird. Hmm.
Dani and Dana’s Delusions
Dani insists that she is all about Andre; this week and the weeks since the Tornado, Dani has been deluding herself. As you all know, Dani is my fave, but right now I am over her and the writing for her.
Dana breaks up with Marcel; she wants better, and he wants her to live on a houseboat. When he leaves, she cries and goes down memory lane of meeting Ted. The thing about these scenes is that Trisha and Keith have chemistry. I would say his best chemistry has been with Trisha and Daphne. However, the writers wrote Leslie into a corner by making her a cartoon villain instead of a vixen and viable character. No one is going to accept her constant winning. See Carly Corinthos. Carly attained a strong fanbase due to her vulnerability when she came on and the losses. Later she would come to be too focused on and always winning without repercussions. Leslie has never truly been vulnerable and has never lost or paid consequences on screen. If you want her to be viable, those things are a must for her character.
Eva tells her it isn’t happening and she needs to accept it and find the right guy for her. Leslie never listens. She should meet with Heather to discuss bunny boiling strategies. Is it the bunny or the bear.
Other Happenings
Kial and Nicole have sex...is that surprising?
Nicole hosts open mic night at her house for Noah. Yawn.
Grayson bartends, and we learn that he could have worked at the clinic. Another yawn.
Friday Cliffhanger
To be fully honest, I didn’t remember the cliffhanger because it wasn't memorable. I had to go back. Oh, it was Leslie holding a torn-up bear. Does this mean she should be up in the Bunny Boiler spot? Will she become unhinged again?
Final Thoughts on the Week
Same rant, different week. The impaler story dropped off only to continue to drag. This show is allergic to drama and gives us much of nothing but character exposition. I am tired of it, if I am to be honest. Jacob is a cop, but we never see him doing anything and the impaler case is going nowhere fast. It is dead in the water, and the Heather reveal was a flop. You mean to tell the viewers that Heather is a boss mafia babe, but is obsessed over a man’s penis? They have reduced her to a stalker? The male-centeredness of this show is perplexing. They have intelligent women who are only given stories related to men, and they aren’t even good. Same problems continue week after week after week.
