Beyond The Gates Weekly Recap: Dani and Andre Can’t Escape Bill as Kat’s Love Life Gets Messier

This week on Beyond The Gates, I want you to guess. Notice how some things in the headings are not changing? Dani and Andre get the same bottle of champagne in Seoul, but Dani still brushes it off while Andre looks mildly terrified. Tomas reminds viewers why we want Katherine Dupree free, and the writers attempt to set up the quad that no one asked for.

Kill Bill Part………………………

Hayley hovers over Bill; he snaps and refuses to give her access to his pacemaker app. He later apologizes, while she drops even more clues that she isn’t trustworthy. Naomi fesses up about the ultrasound, but it is all for naught because Bill eats up Hayley’s lies.

Naomi and Bill make a good team when they score a win in Madison’s case that could lead to victory.

The Brothers Grimm

Ted meets Shanice’s brothers, and I will admit, it was refreshing to see new faces who appear to have some acting ability. The brothers are not happy that Ted is late to the country club and feel like he is trying to show off. Of course, Leslie sees them, invites herself to sit down, and then drops all of her and Ted’s sordid history.

The brothers don’t believe her at first because Shanice would never choose a man who could do something like that. If only they knew that the moment Shanice got attention from Ted, she became desperate. The career-driven, boss Shanice that we all grew to love is absent, all for the D.

The brothers give Ted a piece of their minds and call him a deadbeat clown. Personally, I was delighted that someone finally got to tell him about himself. According to Leslie’s flashbacks and his own, he did lead that woman on and had her believing he was leaving his wife. She was a fool to fall for the standard lie of a philandering clown, but he still tried it.

Later, Shanice brings her brothers and Ted back together to try to mend fences. They hear Ted’s excuses but still hold him accountable. Shanice tells them she chooses Ted.

Poor, foolish Shanice. The moment Nicole is available, Ted is out.

Dani and Andre

Dani continues to be a bird. Her foolish daughters tell Bill about her concern for him, so he texts her. The two exes play a flirtatious texting game that leads to Dani chuckling when Andre walks in. He asks what is so funny, and she dodges the question.

However comma, Bill continues blowing up her phone. Andre asks about it, and she admits it is Bill. His frustration shows through the mask as he tries to cover it up. She seduces him to ease the sting of the ghost of Bill haunting their bedroom all the way in Seoul. I hate this for her and for me.

Terror Quad

Tomas is nasty to Kat and gaslights her like he usually does. The fight explodes, and he leaves. Of course, he runs into Eva at the Uptown while Izaiah runs into Kat at the club.

Here is the thing: no one wants Kat to do to Eva what Eva did to her. It is not Kat, and clearly they want us to believe that Kat has a thing for Izaiah. We all know the outcome; the writing will not favor Kat in this situation. NO one wants a sister-wife triangle.

Why doesn’t this show properly utilize the young adults? We asked for Kat to be free, but you want her in a triangle; another one? Also, we don’t want Tomas and Eva together. No one likes Tomas, and pitting him against Naomi, Hayley, and now Kat does not endear him to anyone. His character is underdeveloped and a flop. He is not compelling and has no screen presence.

Other Happenings

Chelsea and Kat continue to come under fire for pulling out of the Takahashi deal. Meanwhile, Leslie gets her way and lands a producing credit on the upcoming Articulette album. She also gets to hear Barbara sing via Eva. We all know where this is going: Leslie will be on the stage in Barbara’s place.

Deanna and Doug plot, while Deanna, prompted by her worthless mother, decides to go back to school. Nicole and Heather also clash, and instead of telling Heather herself to stay away from her grandchildren, Nicole goes to Joey and tells him to do it for her.

Friday Cliffhanger

Nonexistent.

I guess Tomas and Hayley, with the possibility of a new partnership, is supposed to count. But why would Tomas trust the woman who falsely accused him?
