About

Hello, I am Karen-Elizabeth, but, the people who say they love me, call me Kae! Born in North Carolina, raised in Germany and Texas, I have lived my entire life around the arts. My father was a noted artist/actor/cartoonist, and filled our family home and imaginations with creativity of all kinds through painting, drawing, theater, music, and literature. From the dramatic to the cinematic, the arts have always connected me to different people, places, and experiences. In the third grade, I discovered my own passion for the arts through writing and watching movies and must-see TV. Joining the Je-Ree Reviews Media team gives me the opportunity to bring these loves back together.

A graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in journalism, I am a published author, wanna-be poet, corporate communicator, innovation enthusiast, OG Star Wars fan, obsessed with crossword puzzles done in ink, Formula One racing, and calculating the ideal number microwave minutes to not burn a bag of popcorn!

The Bear Season 5 Episode 7 Review: "Caramel" Delivers the Perfect Dinner Rush
In its penultimate hour, The Bear, starring Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, serves up the longest episode of the season — and quite possibly one of its most satisfying. Episode 7 in the acclaimed FX series’ fifth and final season, “Caramel” is the ultimate final dinner rush, with 52 minutes of pressure, precision, near disaster, and quiet grace. It is the kind of episode that reminds you why this series still has so much power when it stops shouting and lets the...

The Bear Season 5 Episode 6 Review: "Focaccia" Serves Up Controlled Kitchen Mayhem
For its fifth and final season,The Bear continues serving up a parade of prickly pear issues for the restaurant staff of the same name, wrapped in the confines of one fateful day. Created by Christopher Storer, the farewell episodes have been presented this go-round as a five-star tasting menu, piling on the spice just to see how much one can take. Starring Emmy-winners Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri as incredibly talented, yet decidedly insecure chefs, “Focaccia,” episode 6 of the...

The Bear Season 5 Episode 5 Review: Waiting Becomes the Hardest Part
The room is set. The lights are low. The food is prepped. And, the staff waits in their throwback sandwich shop shirts, almost as if what once was old is new again. And, so begins Episode 5 of The Bear’s farewell season. Entitled “Raspberries,” this latest stop on the long and winding road to goodbye for the acclaimed series opens with a restaurant that is finally ready for service — but no one there to serve. Yes, the hits just keep on a-comin’ for FX’s restaurant of the same name. Thirty...
