About

Hello, I am Karen-Elizabeth, but, the people who say they love me, call me Kae! Born in North Carolina, raised in Germany and Texas, I have lived my entire life around the arts. My father was a noted artist/actor/cartoonist, and filled our family home and imaginations with creativity of all kinds through painting, drawing, theater, music, and literature. From the dramatic to the cinematic, the arts have always connected me to different people, places, and experiences. In the third grade, I discovered my own passion for the arts through writing and watching movies and must-see TV. Joining the Je-Ree Reviews Media team gives me the opportunity to bring these loves back together.

A graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in journalism, I am a published author, wanna-be poet, corporate communicator, innovation enthusiast, OG Star Wars fan, obsessed with crossword puzzles done in ink, Formula One racing, and calculating the ideal number microwave minutes to not burn a bag of popcorn!

Landman Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Billy Bob Thornton and Sam Elliott Shine in a Quiet Gut-Punch
Every series has it — that one episode that takes a pause from the narrative chaos and delivers a quiet repose to have its characters stop and reflect upon how they came to be at this point on life’s timeline. “Dancing Rainbows,” serves that purpose for Landman, the popular oil drama series, now in its second season streaming on Paramount+. While the episode opens with a tragic nighttime crash that hints at bigger issues to follow for anyone connected to the fictional M Tex Oil company, the...

Landman Season 2, Episode 3 Review: Tommy Norris Faces His Toughest Balancing Act Yet
As a Texas Landman, Tommy Norris seems to do very little in the way of negotiating traditional land leases with legal landowners or researching local mineral rights. Never have we ever seen him spend time down at the old courthouse canvassing historical documents and ownership records to file quick claim deeds. No small tasks, mind you, but certainly more akin to what you might find on any given day in this line of work. In fact, the titular character of the popular Paramount+ series of the...

Landman Season 2 Episode 2 Recap: Family Feuds Explode on the Texas Oil Patch
Now just two episodes into the sophomore season of Landman , and it is evident that the production formula for Paramount+’s original series from Taylor Sheridan is not going to change any time soon.  From the opening drone sequences panning over the West Texas landscape, to the backing soundtrack that ping pongs between Andrew Lockington’s haunting orchestral score and knee-slapping deep roots country music, to the gratuitous close-range camera shots of the physical demands of drilling work...
