In the first season, viewers are busy putting names to faces and figuring out how everyone connects. Here, the puzzle is already in motion, allowing the audience to focus more on solving the case alongside Pip. The first episode immediately throws viewers back into Pip’s world and shows just how much her life has changed since Season 1. Pip attempts to step away from investigating and focus more on the relationships around her. While her romance with Ravi continues to blossom, tensions begin reaching a boiling point with her best friend Cara. The season is cleverly set up through a murder mystery party where, plot twist, Pip actually gets the murder wrong. It serves as a great piece of foreshadowing for the rest of the story. Pip has always been a perfectionist, so watching her lose control and make mistakes added a compelling new layer to her character. While the season wrapped up with several loose ends tied neatly together, there were still a few lingering questions that stood out to me. We still do not know who has been leaving Pip the strange notes connected to Jamie’s disappearance, and I also found myself wondering about the fate of Max Hastings. Although his trial may be over, true justice still feels unresolved, a theme that plays heavily throughout the season. So, will there be a third season to complete Holly Jackson’s trilogy? The series dropped a major easter egg that should leave fans hopeful. Eagle-eyed fans may spot a subtle reference to As Good as Dead, the title of Holly Jackson’s final book in the trilogy. Not only is this a nod to an important plotline from this season, but it also shares the title of Jackson’s final book in the trilogy. Overall, the second season absolutely lived up to expectations. We got to spend more time with beloved characters while also being introduced to new faces in the town of Kilton. Combined with a fantastic soundtrack featuring Hozier, Lizzy McAlpine, and Chinchilla, every episode kept me hooked. Hawkins has some competition. We've been waiting for what feels like 84 years for Strangers Things: Senior Edition and it has finally dropped. The Duffer Brothers said we would get a new supernatural adventure with some old school Hollywood A-listers. Now the question is, did the brothers deliver? Wrinkles and Wormholes in the New Mexico Desert The show’s premise is bizarre but in a good way. We follow Sam, a widower, played by the delightfully sympathetic Alfred Molina and our boy is being haunted with grief over the loss of his wife (Jane Kaczmarek) and his daughter wants him to stay with her but he and his wife already paid and he couldn't get out his contract but she was happy to drop him off anyway. He expects that his life will include no noise, only bingo and occasional early bird specials. Sure some quirky neighbors are expected but then he quickly discovers the resident monster. Creepy subterranean monsters are literally sucking the little life the old people have left. Sam teams up with his neighbors aka our brave heroes who have exchanged BMX bicycles for tricked-out golf carts. There’s something fresh in watching a band of octogenarians go up against multi-dimensional attackers. We love to see it. The Cast is the Draw The reason this series succeeds is the absolutely legendary ensemble cast. Netflix clearly spared no expense when assembling this roster of Hollywood over 50 royalty. Alfred Molina is the soul of the series; Geena Davis steals every single scene she occupies as a rock and roll former music manager; Alfre Woodard is phenomenal as a sharp-witted retired Chicago reporter and Denis O'Hare brings a delightful chaotic energy as the neighborhood troublemaker. The onscreen chemistry between these veteran actors is electric. Underneath the monster hunting narrative the show tackles genuine human themes like grief, dementia and the terror of aging with surprising tenderness. The Boroughs. The villains were flat and the CGI could've used a few more dollars. The pacing also falters in the middle episodes where the script leans heavily into corny platitudes about life being a precious gift rather than advancing the actual plot. Luckily the incredible classic rock soundtrack curated by Nora Felder salvages the atmosphere. Perfect needle drops from David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen keep the energy high even when the plot occasionally trips. Watch it or Skip it Despite a few bumps and lumps, the freshman season is a triumphant success. The series delivers a highly addictive blend of horror comedy and genuine heart that will satisfy casual viewers and hardcore sci-fi fans alike. The next morning, Maddie excitedly shows Cassie that her social media subscribers skyrocketed overnight. But things quickly take a turn when Maddie spots Nate’s finger sitting in a glass in the sink. Cassie quietly tells her she’s finally going to tell her the truth. Photograph by Eddy Chen/HBO Rue Tells Ali Everything Rue finally tells Ali everything that’s been happening involving the DEA, Alamo, and Laurie. Ali begs her not to go through with this last job, but Rue feels like her family is in danger and she has no choice. Rue also tells Ali that God spoke to her and that after this final job she’s planning to move to a homestead in Texas, which she now believes is the Promised Land. Rue eventually goes on the job and purposefully bangs up her face. She goes to Laurie and tells her that Alamo beat her. Cassie Gets Taken & Nate’s Horrifying Situation Naz’s men break into Cassie’s apartment and tie her up. Meanwhile, Nate (Jacob Elordi) is revealed to be locked underground inside a small box with only a tiny breathing hole. In one of the most terrifying scenes of the episode, a huge snake slithers down into the hole with him. Naz’s men force Cassie to call Maddie and demand $1 million dollars or they’ll cut up Cassie’s face. Laurie’s Men Don’t Trust Rue Laurie’s men become suspicious about why Rue suddenly came back and where her loyalty really lies. One of them even slices Rue’s hands as a warning. Meanwhile, Maddie goes to Alamo for help and explains that Cassie is “having a problem with an Armenian.” Alamo immediately says he stays clear of Armenians, but says he’ll listen if Maddie joins him in the hot tub. Without even realizing it, Maddie tells Alamo about Rue’s fight with Lexi and mentions Rue talking about the DEA. The Money Drop Turns Deadly Alamo gives Maddie the money and personally takes her to do the drop-off. Even though Maddie keeps pretending this is all about business, it’s obvious she still deeply cares about Cassie. Naz opens the bag of money and Alamo immediately shoots him. At the same time, Wayne tells Faye (Chloe Cherry) that he wants her to “put Rue down like a dog.” Nate’s Fate Naz’s men eventually dig Nate’s box back up. Maddie quickly realizes that even though Alamo didn’t technically pay the money, she’s now going to owe him for a very long time. It’s one of the few times we see genuine fear from Maddie. When Nate’s box is finally opened, we gruesomely discover that the snake killed him. The Safe & Final Cliffhanger Faye goes into Rue’s room and tells her they need to get the money out of the safe. The 3D-printed key Rue has doesn’t work, so Faye sneaks and grabs Wayne’s keys while he’s sleeping just feet away. When Rue opens the safe, she finds Ange’s driver’s license along with IDs belonging to several other girls. Rue immediately starts taking the IDs while Faye panics about where the money is. Rue insists there’s no money in the safe, but Faye starts spiraling and accusing Rue of lying and not being loyal to her. Rue tries calming her down and reassuring her, but the episode ends with Faye screaming: “WAYNE!” Only one episode left in the season, and hopefully we’ll finally learn everyone’s fate. Will Rue finally get the deliverance she’s been searching for, or will she ultimately pay the biggest price for her sins? Euphoria is streaming now on HBO Max.

HBO Max dropped its new sizzle reel hoping to get subscribers and non-subscribers excited about their upcoming lineup. We all know HBO is thee app to open for fantasy drama and this reel proves HBO knows it too. From Harry Potter to House of the Dragon, we have a lot to look forward to. The new footage reveals the HBO 2026 upcoming calendar and the heavy hitters do not stop. Of course, sitting at the top is the ‘blink and you miss it’ new footage from the much-anticipated Harry Potter series. Are we calling this a reboot or a reimagining? I don’t think that part was clear but we have our favorite boy wizard getting his new wand at Ollivanders and the first Quidditch match. December 25th, the perfect date to return Hogwarts. Westeros is coming with the premiere of House of the Dragon Season 3 dropping on June 21. The dragons are bigger, the family drama pettier and the body count will be on the rise. If you like your drama with less fiery-sounding fire and more corsets on then our favorite period piece The Gilded Age (Season 4) is here with juicy footage of Bertha Russell plotting social domination while Larry and Marian stick by their star-crossed romance. These two need to get it together because I cannot take another season of the will they/won’t they drama. DC fans are in for a real treat on August 16, with Lanterns. The live-action DC Universe series stars Kyle Chandler with the new footage sharing a glimpse of the iconic uniform. I'm hoping this adaptation lives up to the hype. Despite some initial fan reactions, Aaron Pierre (that's Mufasa) looks perfect as John Stewart. We can’t leave out our comedy lovers. Larry David drops in on June 26 with Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, which looks every bit as gleeful and miserable as you imagine. If you are scratching your head at the light calendar, I get it. The Last of Us Season 3, The White Lotus Season 4 and True Detective Season 5, which was not shown in the trailer, will return sometime in 2027. I am not ashamed to let the people know that my love of reading came from a tiny Jack Russell dog with the cutest face. Here we are my fellow millennials, What’s the Story, Wishbone?, the new documentary celebrating the beloved PBS series is finally live and I got to speak to the people that helped define my childhood. During an interview with yours truly, for The TV Cave, producer and voice actor Larry Brantley, writer Stephanie Simpson, and director Joey Stewart reflected on the making of the series and the surprising legacy the show continues to carry more than 30 years later. The biggest revelation? Nobody involved fully understood the mountain they were climbing while making it. “We had to knock out a show every single week,” Stewart explained. “If I got offered this job again right now, I don’t know that I would take it.” That production schedule sounds like a beast because it was, even by today’s television standards. The team filmed episodes in five-day stretches while simultaneously prepping the next episode. PBS got the tapes and like Britney Spears said, "gimme more" eventually ordering 40 episodes and a TV movie, leaving the cast and crew's mouth agape. Brantley, who is best known as the voice of Wishbone, spilled the tea: he was physically on set every day during filming. The team built Brantley a custom “doghouse” box to record in between sound stages. I can't imagine how dope that felt being right there with everyone else and Soccer. Before we move on, shout-out to Soccer who I believe is on a farm living out his best days. Back to the interview: There were different ways the team planned out how Wishbone would speak for the audience. There were talks about CGI lips moving but that was scrapped. The show trusted that the viewers could connect with Wishbone through performance and imagination. “The kids got it right away,” Brantley said. “It never bothered the kids that his lips weren’t moving.” He's keeping to real because children (myself included) accepted Wishbone’s inner voice immediately while my aunt rolled her eyes at the concept. The documentary also highlights something longtime fans already knew: Wishbone never really disappeared. The series continues to strike a chord with audiences who credit the show for sparking their love of reading, writing and storytelling. During the interview, Simpson shared how teachers still use the series in classrooms, while Brantley discussed meeting fans at conventions who are now introducing Wishbone to their own children. We also touched on whether a Wishbone reboot could ever happen. Stewart admitted conversations have happened over the years, though they don't own the rights, aka do not hold your breath. More importantly, What’s the Story, Wishbone? reminds audiences why the original series mattered in the first place. It wasn’t flashy. It didn’t rely on giant spectacle or cynical humor.
