You know things are bad in the world when your boss calls you out from your deep cover work, hob-nobbing with gang members and drug dealers, to drop you into an even more hush-hush assignment to save the free world. Such is the case with the agents of Countdown , the newest American crime drama from creator Derek Hass.  Set for summer release by Prime Video on June 25, Countdown , stars Jensen Ackles, Jessica Camacho, and Eric Dane as members of an elite team of law enforcement officers brought in to investigate the broad-daylight murder of a Homeland Security officer. When the investigation takes an unexpected turn, revealing an even larger, more sinister plot with catastrophic implications for the nation’s second largest city, it becomes a race against time for the team to find answers as they ultimately work to save millions of unsuspecting lives. In this season debut, the covert task force brings together a seemingly best of the best group of agents in their respective agencies, blessed with incredible investigative skills in cybersecurity, narcotics, robbery, and homicide, for one critical mission. With danger lurking in plain sight, the team dispenses quickly with introductions, ego checks, and resume rundowns to hit the ground running on fleshing out leads and usual suspects. While many of the season’s episodes are filled with eerily familiar scenes of the agents standing around light-filled offices with folded arms pontificating on clues on a white board, or jumping up, grabbing jackets to go chase leads, it is the who, what, when, and how premise of the series that somehow keeps you locked it in.  The action starts with a plot formulated halfway around the world when a Belarusian everyman is caught up in the fallout of his brother’s wrongdoings that leads him to betray both his job and his homeland. When he gets played by an American operative, our villain plays the long game in exacting his revenge. The villain’s backstory is played out in flashbacks that take him from his home in Minsk, Belarus, to the coastal cool communities of Southern California.  While it feels, at times, like a cinematic deja vu of other procedural dramas, Countdown makes it work as a new offering, in part because the actors do. Ackles, best known for his portrayal of Dean Winchester in the CW dark fantasy series Supernatural takes the lead on this one as the sometimes off-the-book detective Mark Meachum, whom we first meet in a Palmdale, California, prison yard working a deep cover case for the Los Angeles police department. Once again, Ackles proves his versatility as an actor, this time in the role of tough-guy action hero, with a hidden vulnerability to an unseen enemy. With his self-deprecating swagger and real-world street smarts, Meachum wastes no time stepping to the front of the line on the newly-formed team.  Ackles’ Meachum meets his match in DEA agent Amber Oliveras (played by Camacho) who comes to the team with her own next-level bad-ass bravado and professional baggage to raise just enough of her own suspicions with superiors of the blurred lines in her work. While the seemingly oil-and-water working environment gets off to a rocky start for the agent and officer, you just know the two are headed for an odd couple, buddy spinoff when this is all said and done.  Case in point, when their many connections forged in the underworld prove useful in getting answers for the case at hand, Meachum and Oliveras find a somewhat plausible, dare I say, cohesive working relationship. Nevertheless, with their ever-present skepticism simmering just below the surface as a result of their deep-in-the-trenches work, each grows suspicious that the other may be harboring a secret from the team.  Once again, fan favorite Camacho brings another round of realism to her own role as the teflon-skin narcotics agent. Consistent across her body of work, Camacho has a way of making her delivery of lines sound spontaneous and original, even if we have seen a similar character archetype on canvas from her before. Authentic and genuine, her performances often remind you of that one friend you can call at three in the morning with no questions asked, but who brings all the answers for your problems with a simple head nod.  Nevertheless, it is Dane who delivers the unexpected standout performance of the series as the task force man-in-charge Nathan Blythe, embodying a perfect blend of gravitas, aloofness, and understanding. His character is not just a skilled investigator but also deeply connected to the intelligence community with his sky-high security clearance, often navigating personal demons that come with the officers he has hand-picked for the team. In measured tones and quiet confidence, Dane’s natural charisma makes him a relatable lead, even as he brilliantly portrays the stoicism of the top brass task force leader who does not allow himself to be consumed by emotion nor the mental and relational sacrifices that one must make to do this line of work.  Mark Meachum (Jensen Ackles) and Nathan Blythe (Eric Dane) in COUNTDOWN Photo: ELIZABETH MORRIS © AMAZON CONTENT SERVICES LLC With his nuanced approach, Dane’s subtle gestures and expressions convey deep internal convictions, immense self-control, and singularity of purpose in his character’s motivations. This allows for another layered performance from the veteran actor, who is also doing time across the TV dial as double-life dad Cal Jacobs in the HBO series Euphoria . However, what makes Dane’s time on screen this go-round more poignant with every episode of this new series is that it comes on the heels of the actor’s announcement that he has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Dane publicly revealed his diagnosis this past April. In a recent interview, the actor shared that he has now lost the use of his right arm, citing it is only a matter of the time before the same comes about with his left arm and legs. The thought of what comes next for Dane leaves so much of this life, both in reality and in the reel world, seem trivial in comparison. Regardless, we will just have to wait and see what Dane’s long-term future is with this new series.  Countdown’s ensemble cast, which also includes the always refreshing Violett Beane as the eager beaver FBI cyber guru agent Evan Shepherd, her fellow G-man agent Keyonte Bell, played by Elliott Knight, and Uli Latukefu as LAPD officer Lucas Finau, rounds out the requisite diversity of the team. The group’s makeup is another plot point familiar to the host of procedurals already littering the field. And, though, we have rearranged the roles here, the team dynamic is consistent with the brains and brash tough guys somehow finding that ideal know-your-role relationship with the quirky Einstein-like ethical cyber hackers who seem to crack systems better than the ones who designed them; and, of course, you have to throw in the commanding officer who is left to wrangle the team’s egos as much as their skills.  Each character brings their own strengths to the team, though it is not unlike anything we have seen previously onscreen with this type of crime-and-punishment drama. The chemistry among the cast is decent though not overwhelmingly familial, which plays directly into the characters’ demeanors onscreen, given how they were brought together as a team, themselves. Watching this fictional team at play is much like the time your teacher put you together with the kids from the other side of the classroom for a group project. A little awkward at first, but then the cool kids step in to take over with their I-know-more action and antics, while the bookworms fill in the blanks with context clues and a-ha math to ultimately make it all work out. Hey, as a tried-and-true formula, it works here, too.  Amber Oliveras (Jessica Camacho), Luke Finau (Uli Latukefu), Evan Shepherd (Violett Beane), Nathan Blythe (Eric Dane), Keyonte Bell (Elliot Knight), Damon Drew (Jonathan Togo), and Mark Meachum (Jensen Ackles) in COUNTDOWN - Courtesy of Prime Video Where the series may fall short, though, is in the fact that the relationship between Meachum and Oliveras is the only one we truly get to see fully develop as the series progresses, with admittedly strong performances and character development of the two leads often elevating the material.  And, while the series does try to bring angst into the lives of each team member, with backstories dropped at random times through the series to temporarily draw their attention, and ours, away from the case at-hand, there is no full-scale development of these additional characters on canvas. Again, the two leads get to delve further into the work they did before joining the team that allows the narrative to subtly weave their ultimate motivations into the plots. For the others, we only learn about who they were before through one-off side conversations. What flows through the series as a B-plot is a devastating medical issue that befalls Officer Meachum that proves not only harrowing on a personal level, but, at times, a serious distraction on the job. As his burgeoning pseudo partner, Oliveras becomes increasingly suspicious with Meachum’s behavior, particularly, as a rash of headaches continue to hit the officer at the most inopportune moments. Once again, Ackles infuses his role through these supporting scenes with depth, conveying a range of emotions that succeed in making Meachum relatable and compelling. Despite the character’s tough guy exterior, Ackles’ portrayal of the harden officer working through the vulnerability of his inner struggles, particularly as he grapples in silence with his diagnosis in the face of his greater work, is a key strength for the narrative and the action. In either case, time is not his friend. Set against the backdrop of the culturally rich city of Los Angeles, the series skillfully combines crime-solving with the dynamic spirit of the city that, at times, becomes a character, itself. With its distinctive skyline, encapsulating its diverse neighbors, from Brentwood to Huntington Park, L.A.’s distinctive culture, aspirations, and ambition, serves as a canvas for the narrative of all that glitters is not gold. And, while you think you know every inch of the City of Angels, Countdown gives you another pull-back-the-veneer, cinematic road trip around the parts that do not often get their time to shine. Nonetheless, the series’ opening season proves to be a slow burn to the action that ignites the story in the back half of the episodes, with the overall premise giving one pause to consider how often we, as a society, have blindly gone about our business not knowing how many “on-death’s doorstep” moments law professionals have thwarted on our behalf? If you thought Walking Dead: Dead City  was going to quietly shuffle into Season 3, think again. The Season 2 finale, titled “If History Were a Conflagration,” was equal parts flaming chaos, emotional gut-punches, and moral U-turns. This episode didn’t just raise the stakes, it set them on fire. Literally. We got walker ambushes under the dinner table, a man set ablaze from the inside out, and Maggie Greene once again caught in the eternal loop of “should I kill Negan or not.” Let’s unpack the emotional wreckage, charred corpses, and shady mind games that made the Season 2 finale an unforgettable ride. Negan's Dinner Party of Death The episode kicks off with a seemingly peaceful banquet hosted by Negan for Bruegel and his New Babylon goons. Of course, anyone who’s watched more than ten minutes of this franchise knew that a calm setting meant absolute mayhem was about to explode. Bruegel was already suspicious, assuming the food might be poisoned. Turns out he was thinking too small. Negan had hidden a literal horde of walkers under the banquet table. Surprise, the buffet bites back! Cue chaos, screaming, and the kind of undead dinner entertainment only Negan can orchestrate. Maggie’s Morality Gets a Workout While walkers were munching on the New Babylon crew, Maggie was facing her own psychological torture courtesy of the Dama. The Dama’s pitch? Kill Negan, free yourself and your son, and finally get closure on Glenn’s brutal murder. Hershel, shockingly chill about matricide plans, was all in. "Do it, then we can start over," he told her, because nothing says family bonding like encouraging your mom to murder someone with a baseball bat. Maggie finally admits what we all knew, she never really recovered from losing Glenn. Fueled by grief and guilt, she sets off to confront Negan, weapon in hand and vengeance on her mind. Bruegel Gets Lit — Literally Back at the church, Bruegel makes a last-ditch effort to save himself by blaming Marshal Perlie for everything. Negan, however, is not in the mood for finger-pointing. With his trusty Lucille 2.0 in hand, he does the classic “eenie meenie” routine, pausing dramatically before deciding Bruegel deserves the spotlight. And how does Negan deliver justice? With the methane gas Bruegel was so obsessed with. He fills him with it and ignites him from the inside. Yes, this show really went full pyro. Next on Negan’s hit list? Perlie. But just as he’s about to swing, Maggie stabs him in the back, literally. And then, in a move that had us yelling at the screen, she lets him go. Ginny’s Death Changes Everything Maggie finds Negan crawling to Ginny’s cell, only to discover the girl has died and turned while he was out doing vengeance things. It’s a rare vulnerable moment for Negan, who breaks down completely. Maggie, bat in hand, chooses not to finish him. Instead, she watches him mourn and walks away. Because what’s more brutal than death in The Walking Dead  universe? Emotional forgiveness. So... Friends Now? In one of the strangest emotional turnarounds we’ve seen since Carol baked cookies for people she was ready to kill, Maggie and Perlie take Negan to an apartment and patch him up. Maggie then breaks the news to Hershel that no, she did not kill the man who brutally murdered his dad, but she’s going to stick around the city anyway. Because stability and good decision-making have always been Maggie’s thing, right? Meanwhile, New Babylon is marching into the city, led by cowardly Pierce, which means Season 3 is setting up for an even more complicated power struggle. But for now, our trio of trauma survivors decide to stick together and “work through what was.” Which, considering their history, might be the wildest idea this show has ever proposed. What’s Next for Dead City? With Negan, Maggie, and Perlie forming the most dysfunctional therapy group in the apocalypse, Dead City  Season 3 is already promising emotional unpacking, possible redemption arcs, and probably more exploding bodies. The Dama is still playing puppet master, Hershel has some serious therapy needs, and New Babylon isn’t going anywhere quietly. Oh, and let’s not forget: Negan just turned a man into a human flamethrower. No big deal. Mercy, Mayhem, and Messy Feelings The Walking Dead: Dead City  Season 2 finale delivered exactly what fans crave, brutal action, complex moral choices, and just enough emotional weight to keep us questioning everyone’s sanity. Negan’s fiery revenge, Maggie’s almost-murder, and their shared grief over everything they’ve lost created a tangled, compelling web that proves this spinoff still has serious bite. The Gilded Age is officially back, and I honestly couldn’t be more hyped. Period pieces are absolutely my jam, and The Gilded Age  fits perfectly into that niche of what I lovingly call the “most entertaining boring show” category. You know what I mean, like Downton Abbey  or Sweet Magnolias . Don’t come expecting high-speed chases, explosive fight scenes, or steamy love-making. Nope, this show is all about slow-burn drama and top-tier acting, and honestly, those rich people vs. servants dynamics have me on the edge of my seat every single week. The season opener, titled “Who Is In Charge Here,” feels like a loaded question because, seriously, who is  in charge here? The episode throws multiple conflicts at us, and each one adds layers to the chaos. Our two favorite sisters, Ada and Agnes, are at odds and confusing everyone, including themselves, about who’s really the Mistress of the house now. Ada’s taken up a new cause to honor her late husband: banning alcohol. Of course, Agnes isn’t here for it. While Ada pushes temperance, Agnes resists, and meanwhile, the servants are caught in the middle, unsure whom to follow. Poor Bannister, bless him, is stuck right in the middle of this turf war. Then there’s Oscar. The guy is barely leaving his room, drowning in shame after losing his parents’ fortune. And guess what? He expects Ada to just hand him money. Ada’s response? “Aht aht, get a job, you bum.” And honestly? I’m with her 100%. You’re living rent-free in my home, so you better be pulling your weight. I do feel bad for Oscar though, he’s completely embarrassed and probably feels like a total failure. On the subject of embarrassment, Aurora’s storyline absolutely left me speechless. Her husband drops the bombshell that he’s met another woman and wants to marry her, so Aurora has to divorce him, all right before they’re supposed to go to the opera. The shame  of it all! My mouth was wide open. On a brighter note, Marian and Larry seem genuinely happy together, though Marian’s cautious about rushing things because she’s already stumbled through two failed relationships. Can’t blame her, she’s been through it with men. But I’m wondering if she might put Larry off for too long and risk him losing interest. Also, Marian’s bestie, Peggy Scott, has some exciting news about an article she wrote, but unfortunately she’s come down with a nasty cold. And here’s the kicker: Agnes’ doctor flat-out refuses to treat her because she’s Black. I was kind of hoping we could avoid revisiting the racism storyline this season, but with the era we’re in, that’s probably wishful thinking. Speaking of sketchy vibes, Larry’s behavior has me side-eyeing him, he’s trying to take credit for Jack’s clock, and that just doesn’t sit right with me. But hey, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when your dad is George Russell. Speaking of George, he’s out in the Wild West trying to push his railroad expansion, and honestly, the whole setup looks way too Yellowstone  for my taste. He’s basically building his empire on the backs of the miners, and you just know trouble’s coming. He really needs to get back home because his wife and daughter are on the brink of a full-on war. Bertha’s busy scheming to secure a Duke for their daughter Gladys, Bridgerton-style, but Gladys has other plans: she wants to elope with Billy. When Bertha finds out, the house explodes. The episode ends with Gladys running away, and honestly, I was sitting there like, OMG, what just happened?! All in all, this episode was exactly what I needed to get back into The Gilded Age  groove. It’s that perfect mix of slow-building tension and juicy drama that makes these period pieces so addictive. No rush, no crazy plot twists, just solid storytelling with characters who feel real, even the rich, spoiled ones. The acting? On point as always. Let me start by saying this — I didn’t mean  to binge The Waterfront  in one weekend. I figured I’d watch an episode or two, get a sense of the vibe, and move on. But somehow, there I was on a Sunday night, bleary-eyed and emotionally waterlogged, wondering how a show about seafood and smuggling had me so locked in. Is The Waterfront  great TV? Not exactly.Is it addictive in the way a bag of discount kettle chips is addictive? Absolutely. Here’s my take — messy, personal, but spoiler-conscious (mostly) — on the new Southern noir drama that just washed up on Netflix. The Premise: Fishing Boats, Family Secrets, and a Whole Lot of Guilt The Waterfront  is set in the fictional town of Havenport, North Carolina — think charming fishing village meets swampy criminal underbelly. The Buckley family runs the town’s most successful seafood business and restaurant empire, but everything starts falling apart when the family patriarch Harlan (played by the eternally intense Holt McCallany) suffers not one but two  heart attacks in the first episode. With Harlan out of commission, the family business — already on the brink — begins to spiral. His wife Belle (Maria Bello, giving off “Southern steel magnolia with a grudge” energy) and their son Cane (Jake Weary, aka the walking definition of “bad decisions in a hoodie”) decide to keep things running… by smuggling drugs using the company’s fishing boats. If you’re thinking Ozark but with shrimp nets , you’re not far off. What Kept Me Watching: The Characters Are a Hot Mess (In a Good Way) For me, the thing that kept pulling me through each episode wasn’t the drug angle — honestly, the whole smuggling plot isn’t particularly original — it was the characters. Bree Buckley, played by Melissa Benoist (yep, Supergirl herself), is the family’s estranged daughter and a recovering addict trying to stay clean and regain custody of her son. Every time I thought he couldn’t get worse, he somehow did — and I couldn’t  look away. Belle is probably my favorite performance overall. Maria Bello does this fantastic balancing act — you never quite know if she’s acting out of love or survival. Maybe both? She feels like the kind of mom who would hug you, then blackmail your parole officer without blinking. Pacing Problems and Southern Melodrama Let’s talk about the pacing. This show crawls  for the first three episodes. It’s all whispers and meaningful glances and long shots of docks in the fog. Honestly, I almost bailed halfway through episode two. But then something shifted — not a big plot twist, just a creeping sense that something really bad  was going to happen. That’s what this show does well. It builds dread like a slow tide rolling in. You don’t notice it until your shoes are soaked and it’s too late to move. Now, the melodrama? Oh, it’s thick. People yell things like “We’re family — we don’t  walk away!” and “You think I wanted this life?” with total sincerity. There’s a near-death experience, a mysterious package, secret recordings, and one scene involving a church confession that was so over-the-top I laughed out loud. But I also didn’t stop watching. That’s the trick — The Waterfront  knows exactly what it is. It leans into the drama. It doesn’t pretend to be prestige television. It’s soapy, sweaty, and deeply earnest. The Real Story Behind the Fiction One of the cooler things I learned while watching is that the show was inspired by creator Kevin Williamson’s real life. Maybe it’s the setting, maybe it’s the characters, maybe it’s just the guilty pleasure of watching a family slowly implode while pretending everything’s fine. Would I recommend it? Naomi, the good friend and professional, even rescheduled a client appointment just to talk to Ashley who calms down but still manages to annoy me with her whining about manufactured problems. Naomi spots a rattled Martin and tries to reach him, and for a moment, it almost works. He nearly lets her in before shutting it down. I’d love to see this explored more. Martin tries to trip up Kenny and has him say; “Show me the color of your money,” which seems to trigger a blurry memory. Madison voices her concerns about Chelsea’s presence on social media. Chelsea explains it’s her job. Madison understands but remains wary. Derek and Jacob have a conversation. Later, Andre joins them and receives a frosty welcome. Jacob suspects Andre has a thing for Ashley/ Andre tells Dani that Kat and Chelsea are on to them. Dani lists all the reasons this is a bad idea. He’s listening but feels this is really about Bill. She opens up; she’s scared and tired. What happened with Bill nearly broke her. Andre assures her that he sees her and that he’s not leaving her for Hayley. Dani asks if he’s sure there's no one else, someone younger, with less baggage. She calls him a player. Andre says since they started, it’s only been her. I call lies. He wants to go public. Dani agrees as Chelsea walks in. Dani begins to tell her the truth, but Chelsea cuts her off, declaring that she's in love. Elsewhere, Vanessa plays hardball with Joey and cleverly loops Doug into the deal. Doug, for once, stops being a pushover and stands his ground against mobster Joey. Growth. Wednesday Naomi and Jacob wake up in bed. Their pillow talk? Dashley. Even in bed, we can’t get romance, just talk about the cling-ons. Meanwhile, Ashley has a dream about Andre (the real root of her Derek issues). She doesn’t want Derek, she wants Andre. Period. As soon as Andre almost kissed her, she shut down with Derek even though she claimed to love him dearly.  Yes, Ashley picked fights with Derek, but he had his own insecurities that could have fueled his need to move into living together and, when that did not work, marriage. If she doesn't want to live with you why would she be ready to marry you? It was a very odd turn in the story. Free Andre. Again. Still, it’s Derek who brings her coffee and checks in. Say what you will—he’s duller than dishwater but too good for her. At Maison Dupree, Dani is doing the most in introducing Madison to the family. Chelsea and Madison are overwhelmed, and same. Bill and his child bride, Hayley, return to the screen. Can we please do something with her? This version lacks spark. Leigh-Ann Rose, anyone? She'd bring fire and actual chemistry to the role. Credit to Exhausted Liz Fan for suggesting that she join the cast. Hayley just doesn’t look or act like she belongs next to Bill or on this canvas. He needs a woman who could truly rival Dani, and that woman could be a new character played by Leigh-Ann. Nicole doesn't take news of Andre and Dani well. And honestly, while I think she overreacted, she’s justified. She’s tired of people lying to her face. Thursday Smitty and Tyrell share father-son bonding time. Ty is curious about his dad’s work, and Smitty opens up. Jacob is upset after a lead falls through. Marcel steps in and tries to offer advice, but Jacob brushes him off. Marcel says Jacob has that dog in him. Later, Elon and Marcel talk about Smitty’s research. Hayley’s back...whining again. Bill set up a policy for her in case he dies. She makes a show of caring about him more than money, but it rings hollow. Kat and Chelsea meet at Orphey's. They discuss love and how quickly Chelsea fell for Madison. There's also a copyright infringement lawsuit that could derail the launch. Jacob arrives, and Kat wants an update on their case. Jacob tries to take full credit. Kat reminds him that there wouldn’t be  a case without her. My JaKat dreams were immediately dashed when Naomi walked in. Thankfully, those beef rumors were squashed. The cousins embraced, and the tension was absent. Martin and Vernon talk over breakfast at the club. They discuss the busboy/Kenny issue. Vernon wants to talk to the manager, Martin urges caution. Vernon’s ready to take the risk, they need to find out the busboy’s game. Friday Things come to a head between Martin and Kenny. Kenny's here to make Martin pay for past sins. Not sure the buildup delivered a full payoff, but the umbrella nature of the story is working. I like how many characters are involved. Vanessa has a new angle for Joey, real estate, and empty homes as a meeting place. Meanwhile, Doug skirts around the fact that his wife sleeps with her business partners. He prefers making insinuations and subtle jabs. Nicole visits Ted’s office to talk about their living trust. It begins awkwardly, but Ted finally says what’s on his heart, he wants to come home. Nicole loves him too, but she lost herself in their marriage. She needs this time to find herself again. I want them to be endgame, but Nicole deserves at least a flirtation arc with someone new before circling back. Anita calls Vernon. He lies and says his frustration is with the contractor, not missing her. Meanwhile, the concert is going beautifully. Jacob and Smitty meet to discuss corruption in the police department. Jacob is afraid his dad is being used as a pawn. Oh, Jacob. You sweet summer child. Meanwhile, Elon and Marcel are gambling with Joey and talking about Smitty and Jacob. Vanessa interrupts and isn’t fooled. She knows poker talk when she hears it. The week ends with Joey telling Vanessa that boundaries are essential, as in things they don’t ask, don’t say. She couldn’t handle his business, he says. Jacob starts connecting the dots and realizes he’ll have to go undercover in his own department. He’s unsure Denzel can pull it off. Um...have you seen The Equalizer ? Denzel can pull anything  off. Martin and Vernon begin to plot. Final Thoughts Overall, it was a solid week. It's not high drama, but definitely not filler-heavy either. Ted and Nicole finally had an honest conversation, more of this, please. If the showrunner is bothered by criticism, they shouldn’t be. We critique because we care . The corruption storyline had a glaring lapse, and that kind of inconsistency is frustrating. Soap fans complain about this on other soaps. Why repeat mistakes that are known to harm ratings? We want the show to succeed but some things are frustrating. Anita's reveal about her bandmate was a big let down for the promotion it got. I expected something big. Andre is not being honest with Dani, and her worst fears may come true. If he dumps her for Ashley, I will riot. Because in the real world, Ashley could neverrr  compete with Dani. Ashley and Derek continue to leech off of others and still don’t work. It’s glaring across social media, everyone sees it. This week, no, Eva, and yet we had almost a full week of Dashley. Why are we never given a break from them? In fairness, we do not see as much of Derek as we do Ashley. Despite the slow burn, I’m looking forward to next week. Side note: Derek showed signs of life in scenes with others, so maybe the problem is… well, you know.
