- Conan O'Brien Coming Back to Host 98th Oscars
You liked him! You really liked him! The Academy Awards is one of the most-watched events in Hollywood, and for the second consecutive year, Conan O'Brien will be behind the desk as the host of the 98th Oscars in 2026." The late-night TV comedy legend is returning to the high-profile ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on March 15, 2026. A big responsibility for the 60-year-old television personality, O'Brien took over the hosting duties for the first time during the 97th Academy Awards in 2025 with great success from the audience and critics alike. “We are thrilled to bring back Conan, Raj, Katy, Jeff and Mike for the 98th Oscars!” said Kramer and Yang. “This year, they produced a hugely entertaining and visually stunning show that celebrated our nominees and the global film community in the most beautiful and impactful way. Conan was the perfect host – skillfully guiding us through the evening with humor, warmth and reverence. It is an honor to be working with them again.” The only reason I'm hosting the Oscars next year is I want to hear Adrien Brody finish his speech, O'Brien joked, teasing the Best Actor winner. How did Conan O'Brien do? Well, the 97th Oscars had it earlier this month on March 2, delivering a five-year high in both total viewers (19.69 million) and adults 18-49 (4.54 rating) and ranked as the number one primetime entertainment telecast in both total viewers and adults for the 2024-2025 season. The 97th Oscars reached 104.2 million total social interactions, marking the number one most social TV program season-to-date, outpacing both "The Grammy Awards" (102.2 million interactions) and "The Super Bowl" (62.4 million) this season for the first time on record. The 98th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be broadcast live on ABC and in more than 200 territories around the world. Conan O'Brien's career has been defined by moments of comedic brilliance. In his days as a writer for The Simpsons to hosting Late Night with Conan O'Brien and finally Conan on TBS, O'Brien was known to be absurd, unpredictable in his humor, and full of love for entertainment. Over the years, he only cemented himself as a comedic force who could break down the wall of celebrity and audience, he did for the first time. He never hesitated to deride Hollywood's biggest stars, and it is this license that made him an excellent choice for the 98th Academy Awards. What's your take on Conan as a host and do you miss him coming back? Let's here it!
- 'Watson' Season 1 Episode 6 “The Camgirl Inquiry” Review
Stephens is watching and communicating with a woman, Portia, in her underwear via zoom. They talk. He asks her about herself. She hesitates, but he draws her out. He asks her if he can get her an appointment at a hospital, because she appears ill. The next day, he and his brother, Adam, talk about his love life. Stephens tries to divert the topic of his love life when they enter their shared clinic office. It wasn't happening because Ingrid chimed in to tease Stephens and tells him about the ongoing bet about his girlfriend. Shinwell enters the office and asks them for help to reduce the unanswered 537 patient petitions requesting treatment at their clinic. He is launching Project Zero. He wants to reduce them to 0 by nightfall and sends them to review the casework. At his desk, Stephens is distracted by a DM he received from Marsha. They are down to 411 cases when Ingrid asks Stephens for input. Stephens doesn't answer and leaves to talk to Watson. He presents Marsha’s symptoms and tells him she won't see a doctor. Watson says she may have a UTI, and she needs to see a doctor before it goes septic. Cranberry juice isn't an anecdote. Stephens contacts Portia and she's sicker. She didn't go to the hospital. She passes out. Stephens returns to Watson ‘s office, all stressed out. He gives Watson his computer with the zoom session open showing Portia passed out. Stephens tells him she's his Camgirl. Stephens expects to be mocked, but Watson just wants to help him and the girl. He said they must get assistance from The Team. Stephens is reluctant but agrees. They give them the conditions, and Watson immediately stops the judgement Stephens gets from his teammates. They begin trying to locate Portia, Stephens Camgirl. Adam points out some posters in the background of the on-screen image. He does a reverse image check and finds some location information. Watson takes the twins and search for a store location and puts Sasha and Ingrid on sex toy detail. They have got two addresses. In the meantime, Sasha gets Ingrid to reveal she is a birthday abstainer. Sasha’s sure she doesn't mean it and is challenged. Watson observes Stephens and Adam discussing Stephens social media dating. Watson’s quietness disturbs Stephens. They got to the location where Portia lived. They search the area and find a possible apartment. The guy who lives there now tells them Annie Wilson used to live but left 3 months ago. She changed her name but gave them nothing more. Shinwell calls Watson and tells them Portia’s worsening. Watson and the twins determine they have 4 hours to find her. They ask Shinwell to look for more on-screen information to help them locate her. Onscreen walks a little Corgi. He can't read its tag but will keep trying. Watson contacts Sasha and Ingrid and updates them on Portia's ex and her restraining order against him. They are on the way to the address where the toy was delivered. Back in the car, Watson tells Stephens about Sherlock’s female relationships. He compares Stephens’ convoluted arrangements to that. He tries to ease his fears. Adam and Stephens go to meet with Stephens’ ex-fiancée who's now Adam’s girlfriend, Lauren. Stephens tells her the situation, and they ask for a legal connection on the restraining order. At the office, Sasha, Ingrid and Shinwell continue trying to call the dog. Shinwell walks away. Sasha tries to go to the Birthday Fairy on Ingrid. Ingrid threatens to expose Sasha’s fake engagement scam. In walks Watson, and the first name he calls, Brutus, gets the dog’s attention. He gets close enough to the camera so they can read the dog’s tag. EMT’s get to Portia's/Annie’s apartment. Watson and Stephens get there soon after. She's quickly taken to the hospital. At the clinic office, Watson tells The Team the antibiotics used to treat Annie aren't working on her sepsis. She has a rare form of sepsis, and they need to find out what it is. Stephens and Sasha returned to Portia's/Annie's apartment, while Ingrid and Adam had to find Annie's relatives in New Mexico and take care of Brutus. Ingrid doesn't understand taking care of a pet. Adam tried explaining the owner-pet relationship, but she didn’t get it. Stephens and Sasha searched for Portia's apartment. Stephens feels he must explain his relationship with Portia. Sasha understands. Everyone’s back at the clinic office and they discuss findings that could give them clues about locating Portia's family. Watson asks Stephens to comfort Portia, her condition worsening. Watson later goes to Portia's room and talks with Stephens who feels he’s failed Portia. Watson commiserates. Suddenly Stephens gets a call from Portia’s Mother. They found her family in New Mexico. Portia told Stephens some truth in a previous session. She just returned from New Mexico two weeks ago and was bitten by a rabbit. They piece these clues together to determine the rare type of sepsis Portia contracted wasn't sepsis. They determined she was infected by the black plaque. Stephens rushes off to administer erythromycin antibiotics and waits in Portia's room for her to recover. The next morning, Ingrid arrives at work and finds a delectable-looking torte on her desk. Sasha brought it for her birthday. Ingrid isn't appreciative and cruelly analyzes Sasha's real intent. She does thank her for the attempt, as Sasha rushes away. In Portia's room, she wakes up and thanks Stephens for saving her life. They try to figure out what they do next. Stephens thanked her for what she did for him. Shinwell brings Watson his tainted medicine. Watson broods and tells him Sherlock didn't have to die. Shinwell tells him to stop worrying over it. He leaves and gets a text from Moriarty’s agent verifying he gave Watson the meds. At her condo, Sasha returns her engagement ring to her fiancé. She gives him 2 weeks to move out. Outside on a pier, Ingrid sits enjoying her Birthday cake. She gets a call from Sasha. Sasha asks to meet with her to help her. Ingrid agrees to an appointment and happily continues eating her Birthday cake. This episode was a little unusual, but understandable once explained. Ingrid can really analyze people and is not afraid to tell them. Sasha faces her truth. Found the twins have relationship issues. Watson is being poisoned by Shinwell, and Shinwell subtly forewarns him. Watson still bears guilt for not saving Sherlock. This episode had multiple mini-plots, and only one was resolved. The one thing that added some fun was Brutus, a very cute pooch. The Team is becoming more cohesive.
- 'Suits L.A.' Season 1, Episode 4 “Batman Returns” Review
You had me at Your Honor, Your Honor. And, so it goes for anyone who finds themselves hooked on NBC’s newest law drama, Suits L.A. The show, now in its fourth episode, has found its sweet spot with the legalese coming off the screen not only taking shape, but also taking center stage, bringing a much-needed foundation to the show. The acting, the dialogue, and even the somewhat measured action is at its best when the casework drives the storyline. It’s definitely giving me a reason to stay in this lane each week. We jump right into the action at the start of the episode with Ted Black’s (Stephen Amell) competitor Samantha (Rachelle Goulding) dropping a new client on her new protege, Rick Dodsen (Bryan Greenberg) now settled in as Head of Entertainment for the Law Offices of Railsback Lane. While the firm name does not have the same fluid ring to it as the pre-merger Black Lane Firm, the offices are just as lush, the clients just as high profile, and the work just as unexpected, as that of its cross-town rivals. Railsback Lane’s new client is charismatic character actor Enrico “Rico” Colantoni of Veronica Mars and Galaxy Quest fame (both of whom are named dropped as part of the plot), in what turns out to be a case of fueding neighbors. When Colantoni, playing himself, playing the victim, is arrested for vandalizing his neighbor’s hedges with a rather questionable landscaping redesign, he calls his attorney to help plead his case. If he had just not used the chainsaw, I am sure no one would have noticed. Nevertheless, Rick, having taken an advanced read on the case file and now fully aware of the… ahem , suspect design carved into the neighbor’s petunias, sends Stuart (Josh McDermitt) to do legal intake of Rico down in lockup. In a moment he cannot unsee, Stuart, with his first look at the photo evidence, surmises that, among other things, there is more to the backstory as to why his client would have gratuitously rearranged his neighbor’s hedges to start. Back at the new Black & Associates, Ted Black’s back-on-track entertainment law offices, the firm’s namesake and his new partner, Erica Rollins (Lex Scott Davis), must deal with a new hiccup in their most pressing case, the ongoing murder trial of noted producer Lester Thompson (Kevin Weisman) — to quickly recap, Lester is on trial for murdering his creative partner, Simon, who was also having an affair with Lester’s wife, Valerie. The latest wrinkle in the case is that the studio bankrolling the film has uncovered that Lester may have also been taking money from the production. Reminding the producer of the morality clause in his contract, the studio is pushing to kick him off his own film. While there is a plausible explanation on Lester’s part (explained in detail in episode 3), citing a Robin Hood-esque scenario that had the disgraced producer syphoning off the movie’s budget to pay back what his partner had actually been stealing. Sounds great in theory, but robbing Peter to pay Peter never works like you think it should. Recognizing that this also gives Lester yet another plausible motive to do his partner in, his attorneys at Black & Associates jump in to push back on the studio to retain Lester’s name on the film. That would have been all well and good until Erica brings Ted up to speed on the firm hired to do the legal paperwork — it just so happens to be a familiar thorn in Ted’s side in one Samantha Railsback. For those keeping score at home, Samantha is Ted’s ex-girlfriend. When Samantha threatens to release dirt on Ted’s client ahead of his murder trial if Black & Associates tries to sue to keep Lester on the film, Ted and Erica decide to workshop a good cop/bad cop scenario to get Lester to bow out on producer credits, himself. But, when Lester recounts his poignant reasons for wanting to remain, Ted refocuses his efforts to make it happen. In a surprise turn, Lester leads the charge on moving up his trial date, in the hopes of clearing his name ahead of being removed from the film. The move puts Ted back in court to file the appropriate motions and to go toe-to-toe once again with assistant DA, Elizabeth Smith, who seems to have it out for Ted. Never fear, Ted has his own secret weapon in pro bono attorney and upstairs office tenant Amanda Stevens, played by Maggie Grace. Amanda agrees to assist Ted with background on the assistant DA, in part, because there is definitely no love lost between the two women, due to a past beef that has been hinted at in previous episodes, though the full details of which have yet to be revealed. Nevertheless, if the tension when Amanda makes a surprise appearance at the move-up hearing in her stunning black power suit to shed a little historical light on the ADA’s stall tactics is any indication of the fireworks to come between Amanda and Elizabeth, then I am here for it. It is nice to finally see Grace get to fill out her role as Amanda Stevens. Though, her time onscreen up to this point has been limited, the actress, best known for Lost and the Taken film series, has demonstrated a commanding screen presence that has been both effective in conveying strength and vulnerability. It is evident that, from the early dynamics of her character playing opposite that of Amell’s, there will be more to their relationship as time moves on. This week’s flashback to Ted’s past life in New York has the former prosecutor reliving a key moment in his high-profile mob case when Ted’s wise guy nemesis, known as Pellegrini, makes an unexpected visit to his younger brother’s place of work. Though, Eddie was shaken by the experience, Ted would later assure his then-girlfriend, Samantha, that Eddie was never the intended target of Pellegrini’s threats. That, of course, would be Ted, who is still reeling, himself, from the mob bribing his now-deceased father. My Spidey sense tells me there is still more to come on that “Daddy-didn’t-do-right” front. Despite both his girlfriend and brother being on edge about his work, Ted was committed more than ever to putting away the mob boss who, among other crimes, had Ted’s star witness taken out — a moment that was brought to us in living color to kick off the series in episode one. In a follow-up trip down memory lane, we get the much-anticipated return of THE Harvey Specter, in the first of his limited-run guest appearances as Ted’s law buddy and rec league softball teammate . Harvey Specter wearing polyester pants? Who would have thunk it? The formidable, sharp-witted attorney, played by OG Suit Gabriel Macht, serves as both a mentor and confidante to Ted in the latter’s time as a federal prosecutor. Macht is slated for appearances in additional episodes. Let’s hope when he does, we get to see more of the fire inside of Harvey that has come to define the original character. Back in the present, Rick and Stuart wrap up their case with Rico, having done their own version of a good cop/bad cop workshop to get the actor to reveal why he had it out for his Gen Z social influencing neighbor. The answer may surprise you. Though, NO spoilers, here. This is must-see TV for yourself. And, as luck would have it, episode 4 of Suits L.A. is streaming now on Peacock to do just that. New episodes drop Sundays each week on NBC.
- '1923' Season 2 Episode 4 "Journey the Rivers of Iron"
I am sure I say this every weekly review but 1923 is one of the best shows on television right now. The episode begins with Donald holding a dinner with a bunch of important men, investors and he is pitching his new business ventures. He is really keen on opening the ski resort in Montana. While I love Timothy Dalton as an actor, I just want Donald gone, which of course speaks to his talent as an actor. Everything he says makes sense and of course become apart of the world we know but the way he has treated the Duttons – I cannot stand him. I knew Alexander was going to get mugged. That scene was so hard to watch. I really hoped that someone would come in to help her. I was screaming Spencer the whole time. Why does this show love to torture me so? Zane’s surgery was also a scary moment. I’m glad it worked out and he can now walk again but for a minute there, I thought that it did not work. Elizabeth is really getting on my nerves. I am trying to have sympathy but I’m finding it hard to give her some. I also knew she was pregnant. I guess this means she is staying put for now. Also, it seems the last few days have rattled the doctor. Spencer of course gets caught by the police and taken back to the truck. The police say he has to deliver the booze or go to jail, and they are going with him. I just want him to get back to Montana. Are we really going to have to endure another season and he is not going to make it back to his family? Now Spencer is involved in a whole shoot out simply for doing the right thing and saving a boy. He must travel on a train and cannot sleep, or he will get hurt. When they do attack him, he of course shows them why he is the baddest and takes them out. He should have thrown the bodies off the train and kept going. I understand where Banner is coming from trying to get his family a better life but to steal from someone else that worked for it is not the way, so I am not rooting for him at all. Banner also knows he is in with Donald way over his head when he has him dispose of a dead girl for him. Overall, this episode was really good with highs and lows. Transparency, I’ve never seen Yellowstone, so I am unsure if any of this has been spoiled. Obviously, they keep the ranch but at what cost? No one spoil it for me in the comments but share your thoughts on the episode below and remember to vote in our poll.
- '9-1-1-' Season 8 Episode 10 "Voices"
9-1-1 came back from winter break swinging and hitting home runs. This episode titled voices touched on a character, Amber that developed a split personality disorder after suffering her own kidnapping trauma. It was a scary episode because you never knew what was going to happen next. Jennifer Love Hewitt and guest star Abigail Spencer did a fantastic job. We learn that Maddy was kidnapped by the missing persons detective Amber and that she was behind all those girls going missing. When Chimney and Buck get home from dinner and find her missing, they sound the alarm to get the whole gang together to find her. Of course, they mention her previous postpartum depression and how she left after having Jee-Yun. But they know this feels off and different than the last time. Athena also finds it strange that Amber is not answering her phone, so she enlists the help of Detective Romero for help. At this point, I do not understand why Athena will not become a full-time detective. They are able to speak to the victim that was rescued last episode and learn that there was a woman involved in the kidnapping. Athena and Romero also visit the medical examiner and learn that the prime suspect did not kill himself. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but it is not a crime for Maddy to have tried to get a caller to harm themselves. I was very confused by that aspect of this storyline. We will suspend disbelief for the sake of the episode and storyline. Meanwhile, Maddy is able to also piece together Amber’s backstory around the same time Athena does. Before she can get away, she is in the fight of her life as Amber slits her throat. She miraculously survives right as Chim is upstairs confronting Amber. Another fight breaks out and Athena with the calvary shows up to take Amber down. Maddy is rushed to the hospital and learns she and Chim are having a boy. Everything wraps up nicely with Buck and Eddie saying goodbye as Eddie moves back to Texas to be with Chris. It really felt like an afterthought and unfinished. Eddie must be coming back somehow, right? What was up with Buck not being more concerned about Maddy and why is it that Bobby and Athena never really have any scenes together anymore? The whole vibe at 9-1-1 feels off but the episode was good and well-acted. What did you think of the episode? Let us know in the comments.
- 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 21 Episode 10 "Jump (for My Love)" Review
Meredith is back at Grey’s Sloan to perform special surgery for Catherine’s former student’s (Lena Waithe) wife. The tension is in the air as Richard is still upset with her about keeping Catherine’s secret. Richard seems to always be upset at Meredith for some reason or another. It is becoming quite old. Also, how can he be upset? Are there not HIPPA laws? Even though Meredith is one to not always follow the rules, technically she could not tell him. If anything, he should be mad at his wife. Meanwhile, Ben and Winston have to transport a heart to a patient on the transplant list and the car ride over turns into a conversation about Winston’s patients mother whom he previously went out on a date with. It is always interesting when the doctors date outside characters because they never last. I see some sparks between Winston and Ameila but its weird because they were once sort of, kind of in-laws. Speaking of Ameila, her and Link work on a patient who hurt herself at her divorce party after she jumped off a bridge to try and get back her diamond ring she threw over. Elsewhere, Bailey is hosting a “intern retreat” at her home, something Richard did for her during her intern years. Things are still icy with Millan and Simone as Millan has yet to apologize for not taking the blame (she did not strap a patient in properly on the OR table last episode and he fell off the table). I’m not sure why Millan just will not apologize. I understand she lost Yusuda but she has just been insufferable since. Speaking of icy, Richard is still acting like a child when it comes to Meredith. That man is a hundred years old and acting like this. Nick decides that the transplant liver for Catherine’s star patients is not a good match because it is too big. Evynn saw the scans and tries to pressure Nick into using the liver. On the way back with the organs, Winston and Ben get stopped on the side of the road to treat a mother and father involved in a motorcycle accident. Things are never easy. The paramedics are of course ten minutes out. When they do finally arrive, Winston has to open him up because he won’t make it to the hospital. Millan crashes out during the team building exercise. She feels the team is broken because Yusuda left and everyone is enjoying life. She is being dramatic in my opinion. One person left the program after trauma people are allowed to get on with their lives. Lucas was shot at, your girlfriend left. It is not the same Millan. What I have noticed is that Bailey has mellowed out over the years. She is not the big scary boss that she used to be in the early years in the show. I miss the old Bailey honestly. Winston asks the mom out and she turns him down – Ameila can swoop in now. I’m rooting for it. Catherine’s patient has Alzheimer's and Meredith and Richard confront her about it. She had no idea, Evynn lied. I guess Millan and Simone made up although Millan still didn’t apologize. Link proposed to Jo, that man loves to propose, she said yes, and I am also rooting for them. The episode overall does what Grey’s has done all these years. It was solid and had some good story. Is it as good as the competition, not really but still an enjoyable watch .
- 'Sweet Magnolias' Season 4 Episode 6 "Ring That Bell" Review
Hurricane Maxine devastated Serenity, leaving the town in ruins, but its citizens refused to be defeated, coming together to support each other. Episode 6 of Sweet Magnolias kicked off with Erik and Helen sharing quality time together. Helen reassures Erik that everyone who was at Sullivans and Friends made it home safely. Their morning is interrupted by calls from Peggy and Cal. Cal offers to open up the restaurant for the community free of charge and Annie says she’s going to help Kyle and Lily at the park. Things get a bit awkward for Helen when Genevieve pops back up. It’s a nice interaction but built on the secret that Helen and Erik are back together. With a thoughtful gesture Maddie brings Cal, Erik and Bailey energy drinks and protein bars because Sullivans and Friends is busier than expected, causing Cal’s behavior to be a little off. Erik, however, couldn’t be happier. He’s humming and smiling ear to ear, which obviously has to do with Helen. Speaking of Helen, she sends Annie to get footage of Maddie sharing an encouraging message for the town’s social media page. Sullivans and Friends is becoming increasingly crowded as more and more people arrive for a free meal. However, you can tell the stress is starting to get to Cal. On a lighter note, Helen and Erik share a spontaneous kiss after running into each other’s arms. Love is truly in the air. Maddie’s video continues to bring positive engagement. A reporter from Charleston even comes down to interview her and other citizens in the community. Later, she is interviewed by another reporter from Washington D.C., who she scrutinizes for judging her beloved city of Serenity. Dana Sue, Helen and Maddie pour it out for margarita night. Dana Sue announces that she’s going to teach an insurance paperwork workshop, and Helen praises Annie, Kyle and all the teens for how hard they worked. The best part though? Helen tells the story of her and Erik’s epic rain kiss, detailing every second of the moment. Maddie and Dana Sue were left speechless, in awe, and so happy for their best friend. Comedy ensues when Ronnie shows up in front of Dana Sue and Annie with a new motorcycle, leaving them completely shocked. The heartwarming episode took a scary turn at the end. Maddie expressed how happy she was to be home with her husband after a long day, but as Cal came down the stairs, he fell straight to the ground, with Maddie terrified and screaming Cal’s name. Will Cal be okay? You’ll have to keep watching. The full season four of Sweet Magnolias is currently streaming on Netflix.
- Soap Wire's Performer of the Week: Carson Boatman
This decision might be surprising, but it is worthy of mention. Since Carson Boatman, playing Johnny, gave a firm warning to his father, EJ, there has been a marked improvement in his work. Johnny always knew his dad was severely flawed, manipulative and deceptive at times, but now his insight is better than ever. His confrontation with EJ regarding the Rafe and Arnold switch was a watershed moment. Johnny let it be known that if EJ were involved, it would cause irreparable damage to their already frayed relationship. The quiet fury, the incredulity, the built-in distrust—it was all there, simmering just beneath the surface, and Carson pulled it off magnificently. Then came Roman's cautionary words, subtly referencing EJ's past transgressions without quite saying that he raped Sami. Johnny's inner conflict was palpable—the questions flashing in his mind, the confusion, the desperate desire for knowledge. That knowledge came in the most ghastly form: from Kate, who had to break the news to Johnny of the horrific fact of his own origin. The context of that truth rested on Johnny—his twin sister was born of love, but he was a product of rape. The sheer horror, rage, and anguish on his face yelled in louder whispers. Carson didn't just say the emotion through the lines; it was on his body, the way his world clearly collapsed before us. And then, at last, the flash point—going home and unleashing his unbridled anger on EJ in a brutal punch. It was animal. It was visceral. It was deserved. This plot has been in the pipeline for a very long time, and we eagerly await seeing Carson Boatman follow Johnny on this life-altering discovery. What will he do? How will it shift what's going on between him and Chanel? Are we finally getting that long-wished-for clash between Johnny and Sami courtesy of Alison Sweeney and Carson Boatman being the emotional payback this moment is due for? Kudos to Carson Boatman for an electrifying performance. We’re eager to see what he does next.
- '1923' Season 2 Episode 3 "Wrap Thee in Terror" Review
Welcome to America. This episode of 1923 brilliantly details the journey that immigrants coming to Ellis Island had to endure to gain an approval to enter America. Alexandra, driven by her desire to be with Spencer (I do not blame you girl) has made the trip to America alone and is met with folded arms. Even as a white, blonde beautiful woman because she is an immigrant she is treated with disdain. How does the first man she meets giving her a quick exam punch he in the stomach because she got smart with him. The examining physician basically told her that America does not want her. She is forced to strip down fully and giving an invasive exam by some strange man she just met. There is a nurse in the room but that does not make it any easier. The doctor does find out she is pregnant and to make matters even worse, she must do the same exam again with two other doctors. After she completes the exam, she is harassed by another woman who suggest she offers herself up to get approved. When her name is finally called, and she meets the man that holds her fate in his hands he calls her a liar when she explains she is meeting her husband. He tests her ability to read, and Alexandra masterfully reads him for filth. She recites the words from the famous song we learn “give us your tired, your poor” and tells lets him know she no longer cares what he does but he should change his shirt, so his wife doesn’t see the lipstick. She gets the stamp of approval and is allowed to enter the city. New York City is not a nice place for a woman traveling on her own and a newsstand man gives her advice about hiding her money. When she gets to the train station, the man at the window also tries to help her. There is a glimmer of hope that all she must do is get on the train and head to Montana, but this is 1923 and we see a man follow her into the bathroom. We must wait until the next episode to learn her fate. Meanwhile Spencer is not having the best time either. He runs into trouble on the road with Luca while trying to smuggle liquor and Luca is killed. I was very much hoping it would go smoothly because I do not believe Luca’s cousin will let this go. He will definitely come looking for Spencer. The female Marshall we met is on the trail of Father Renaud and I for one hopes she kills them for what they did to that Native American family. Jacob and the crew make it back home finally and Elizabeth tells Jack she is going home. Is it just me or is she overreacting. Does she want to have rabies? I am very confused there. The worst is far from over as Zane has a brain bleed and the doctor (I know he is ready to go home by the way) has to drain it with no anesthesia. Is there no rest? Another great episode of 1923 that brought the drama and emotion and has us biting our nails until the next episode! Leave a comment and let us know your thoughts! Don’t forget to vote in our poll!
- Performer of the Week: Tracy Ifeachor on 'The Pitt'
This week our Performer of the Week goes to Tracy Ifeachor as Heather Collins on The Pitt. Collins from the first episode had grabbed our attention here at Je-Ree Reviews Media along with fans. Everyone wanted to know immediately the backstory of her pregnancy and if Dr. Robby was the father. Our readers were hooked and could only talk about when she would tell Robby he was the father. Well, we all were sort of correct. Collins finally told Robby she suffered a miscarriage, and he was of course shocked. The remainder of the episode was a gut punch of emotions for Collins as she had to assist with the birth of a newborn in the emergency room. The amount of strength it took to put personal feelings aside and do her job was incredible. Tracy Ifeachor has been brilliant in the role giving us all types of different emotional beats and layers to Collins. She gives off a look and you cannot help but feel for her. The scene in the ambulance where she confesses to Robby that while they were dating, she was pregnant but chose not to move forward with that pregnancy was heartbreaking. In that moment you felt her nervousness at his reaction. Robby was perfect in his response to that by the way. Tracy displayed Heather’s vulnerability perfectly in the moment. We were on the edge of our seat wondering what was going to happen. Now that the truth is out, what does this mean for their friendship/relationship moving forward. Robby told her she could go home and relax but will she come back with the hospital to get patients from the active shooter situation at the concert? We can only wait until next week to see how the rest of Collins story unfolds for the remainder of the season. One thing is for sure, Tracy Ifeachor will bring it with her presence you can’t miss and amazing acting choices and this is why she is Je-Ree Reviews Media Performer of the Week.
- 'Doctor Odyssey' Season 1 Episode 10 "Shark Attack! Part 2: Orca!" Review
Chaos heightens during part two of Doctor Odyssey’s midseason premiere. When viewers last saw Captain Massey and his crew, they were struggling to deal with a catastrophic ship shutdown caused by a great white shark colliding with the propeller. This week it’s all about the orcas, featuring thrilling twists and even bigger obstacles. The episode, titled “Shark Attack Part 2: Orca,” began with Avery providing flashlights to Max and Brooke so they could see while performing Spencer’s surgery. They find some relief when Spencer’s pulse is returned. Tristan also calls for help with Josie, whom he found unresponsive at the end of part one. Massey announces that the Odyssey can’t move, and they can’t send a distress signal, then he hears a strange sound… the orcas. Max says that they must get Spencer, Josie and Brody on a tender, but Massey explains that even an orca’s tail can bring it down. As a deterrent, Massey, Rosie and Ray decided to use sandbags to make them swim away. Brooke is grateful that Tristan is able to stabilize Josie and Brody, and she gushes about how lucky Max and the Odyssey are to have him. She also apologizes for blasting him about Ray. Back in the infirmary, Tristan and Avery explain to Spencer that he is in dire need of care at an actual hospital, but he asserts that he is not leaving his post. Rosie and Ray realize the scraping sound is over, meaning that the orcas are gone. Rosie calls for the tender so Josie and Brody can be moved to a hospital. Brooke and Avery get prepared to get on the tender and Brooke and Max share some flirty banter and a goodbye. Tristan then calls Max out for wanting to have his cake and eat it too, which doesn’t go over well. On the tender, Brooke tries to get some intel about Avery’s situation with Max and Tristan, but the subject swiftly changes to medical school. Brooke gives Avery some advice when it comes to speaking up and building productive relationships with professors to soak up knowledge. Before Brooke and Avery can continue their conversation, Ray halts the tender when he hears the original pod of orcas squealing and swimming towards them. One even leaps, splashing water on them. Avery immediately calls for Captain Massey on the walkie, and he tells her the Odyssey is going to launch the sound cannons. Avery jumps into action, putting cotton in everyone’s ears to block the sound. It was a great call. The orcas disappeared, and Ray, Brooke, Avery, Josie and Brody were all able to get back on the Odyssey. However, as soon as they get into the infirmary, Massey alerts Max that they have 90 minutes before they hit a reef. Things get worse when Avery realizes that Spencer is gone. She and Tristan go looking for him. They find him attempting to go back up to the bridge. They remind him that he just got out of surgery and help him back to the infirmary. When Brooke shares stories about her dad and how he taught her mechanics, Max gets to know her better. They also gorge on snacks left from the mini fridges which Brooke uses. One of the episode’s best moments is when Tristan helps Spencer by getting him back on the bridge, allowing Massey to put him to work. This gesture meant a lot to Spencer, and he showed his gratitude. It also impacts Avery, so much so that she kisses Tristan. Josie’s situation worsens by infection. Without any power, the only way to check her is to open her up, which is what Max decides. In a sweet moment, Josie asks Brody to marry her before her surgery. With a hail mary, Rosie restores the power, and everything gets back in business. What better way to cap off this tumultuous adventure than with fireworks, which Captain Massey sets off to prevent any more orcas from following the ship. The episode ends with Josie and Brody tying the knot, Ray and Brooke leaving, and Massey telling Spencer how proud his dad would’ve been of him. Casino week kicks off next when the one and only Angela Bassett climbs aboard the Odyssey for a bombshell 9-1-1 crossover event. Emphasis on bomb. The crew must find their way out of danger and fast. Episode 11 will air Thursday, March 20, on ABC. It will also stream on Hulu the next day.
- 'The Pitt' Season 1 Episode 11 "5:00 P.M." Review
We are getting so close to season finale of The Pitt and I am going to miss this show. It brings a realism and drama to the medical show genre that audiences have not seen in a very long time. I watched the first couple of seasons of ER because everyone was comparing it and while they are similarities, I believe these are two different shows and definitely two different characters. I can understand the urge to compare, it would be like Ellen Pompeo playing a doctor in another show. The episode of course picks up right where it left off last week with Robby looking at the door Dr. Langdon just walked out of. The nosy nurses are a buzz talking about the events and discover Santos speaks Filipino (a standardized version of Tagalog). While Robby lets Santos knows the situation with Langdon has been handled she calls Garcia to cover her tracks and asks her not to speak about it. Garcia lets her know she is trouble with a capital T. Robby also informs Dana that Langdon is gone but does not go into specifics. It is clear Dana is struggling after her attack and Robby keeps telling her to go home but she refuses but at the same time she is giving off resentment towards him and the patients. She letter reveals she is done. This assault on her after everything she has been through is the last straw and she is going to quit. I completely understand her struggle but I love her so much as a character and are we really losing all this hospital staff and main cast in one season during one long shift? This is insane and such amazing writing. As if Robby did not have enough to worry about, the patients are still bringing the drama. Theresa the mother of the young boy is making cryptic social media threats. He does not have time to address it because Collins finally told him that she had a miscarriage. I just knew this baby was Robby's but no, she tried on her own using IVF. However, we did discover that when her and Robby were dating she did get pregnant but ended that pregnancy due to the uncertainty of their relationship and other factors. The scene was done beautifully and Robby gave the perfect response in that moment. I am rooting for these two hard. The scene I was absolutely not ready for and should have not been eating while watching the episode was the patient Natalie who gave birth. This episode took realism to the next level showing the birth of the baby. We almost lost the mother but thankfully she made it through. Her storyline made me think of how many women - particularly black women do not survive childbirth even now. Had the episode gone in that direction it would have highlighted a conversation that does not get talked about enough on these medical shows. I understand it was meant to get Collins to open up to Robby and I did enjoy that. Other storylines this episode that were good - Dr. Mohan and her addict patient that she misled when she told him she was giving him a morphine like drug and Dr. McKay putting her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend in her place. You can date who you want but do not try and be a mother to my child over me. I was so happy she told that little girl about herself. The episode ended with news of an active shooter at Pittfest, where Robby's stepson is. Let us hope he makes it out safe but we won't know for another week - leaving us on the edge of our seats.
