Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 Trailer Drops With Release Date and New Characters at SDCC 2025

Three people stand firmly with determined expressions, holding weapons, as a massive wave crashes behind them. Vivid jackets and stormy sky.

The gods have spoken and the Half-Bloods are gearing up for another epic quest. After months of fan theories, Instagram speculation, and Rick Riordan cryptic blog posts, Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 finally has a release date — and yes, there’s a teaser trailer to feed your demigod-starved soul.

Unveiled during the Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Disney+ officially confirmed that Season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Along with the big reveal came a new teaser trailer that gave fans their first glimpse at Cyclops chaos, Golden Fleece drama, and the return of everyone’s favorite trio — Percy, Annabeth, and Grover. If you thought Season 1 was just getting started, buckle your seatbelt (or, you know, grab your magical flying shoes) because things are about to get mythological.

A Recap for Mortals: Where We Left Off

If you need a refresher, Season 1 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians brought Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief to vivid life, earning praise for staying faithful to the books and finally giving fans the adaptation they deserved. Walker Scobell won over hearts as the titular demigod, while Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri delivered strong performances as Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood. The show ended with Percy returning Zeus’s stolen bolt and just barely scratching the surface of the prophecy that will define his teenage years.

Season 2 Dives into The Sea of Monsters

Based on the second novel in the bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, Season 2 plunges Percy and his friends into the Sea of Monsters — aka the Bermuda Triangle but make it mythological.

Here’s the official synopsis: After the protective borders of Camp Half-Blood are breached, Percy sets off on a perilous quest to rescue Grover and recover the Golden Fleece, the only thing that can restore the camp’s magic. Along the way, he teams up with Annabeth, Clarisse, and his newly discovered half-brother Tyson, who happens to be a Cyclops. Casual.

Oh, and no big deal, but they’ll also be trying to stop Luke Castellan and the Titan Kronos from literally destroying Olympus. Standard summer camp stuff.

Meet Tyson: The Half-Brother You Didn’t Know You Needed

The Comic-Con teaser finally gave us our first look at Daniel Diemer as Tyson, Percy’s Cyclops half-brother. The fan-favorite character is awkward, earnest, loyal, and capable of smashing monsters with his bare hands — what more could you want in a sibling?

Diemer’s casting already has fans buzzing, and from the quick flashes in the trailer, it looks like he’s bringing both the heart and humor that make Tyson one of the most beloved characters in the books. Percy might not be thrilled to suddenly have a monster for a brother, but the audience? Absolutely here for it.

Returning Cast and Familiar Faces

Alongside Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri, the new season brings back Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan and Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue. Expect Clarisse to have a much bigger role this time around, since her quest overlaps with Percy’s in major ways.

Also worth noting: the gods are watching. Literally. Though no official word yet on which Olympians will show up in Season 2, fans are already hoping for more divine drama and godly glow-ups after the impressive lineup in Season 1.

And Yes, Season 3 Is Already on the Horizon

In a surprise twist, Rick Riordan also used the panel to drop some early casting news for Season 3, which will adapt The Titan’s Curse. While production hasn’t started yet, we now know that Levi Chrisopulos will play Nico di Angelo and Olive Abercrombie will take on the role of his sister, Bianca. If you know what’s coming in Book 3, you already know the emotional chaos this duo is about to unleash.

What We Still Don’t Know (And What We’re Dying to Find Out)

There are still a few key things missing from the big reveal. For starters, Disney+ didn’t clarify whether Season 2 will drop all at once or follow the weekly release pattern of Season 1. Based on previous shows, weekly seems likely, but hey, we’re open to surprises if the gods are feeling generous.

We also don’t have a full trailer yet, just a teaser. But judging from the snippets we’ve seen — shipwrecks, monster battles, Percy yelling dramatically — the full thing is probably right around the corner. Possibly timed with New York Comic Con? Fingers crossed.

Bring On the Sea Monsters and Sibling Feels

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is shaping up to be one of Disney+’s best book adaptations yet, and Season 2 looks ready to raise the stakes. Between the new characters, deeper lore, and the introduction of Tyson, there’s plenty for longtime fans and newcomers to get hyped about.

So mark your calendars for December 10, re-read The Sea of Monsters, and maybe start emotionally preparing yourself for whatever Luke and Kronos have planned. Olympus is under threat and the fate of the world once again rests on the shoulders of a sarcastic twelve-year-old. No pressure, Percy.
