The streaming platform is doubling down on one of its most high-profile originals, starring executive producers Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV Plus, had nothing but glowing things to say. Snooping goes sideways for our trusty trio of podcasting amateur sleuths as Only Murders in the Building settles into its season return of weekly episodes. The often quirky, yet decidedly well-written whodunit keeps you guessing as the clues unfold on the Arconia building’s latest murder. But, one thing you can always be sure of each week is that you come away wanting more, and episode 4, entitled Dirty Birds , does not disappoint. As always, punctuated by the incredible onscreen chemistry of its leads — Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez — the September 16 release of the follow up to the season 5 three-episode launch, Dirty Birds finds Charles, Oliver, and Mabel right where we left them — hiding out in the newly discovered Velvet Room in the basement of their upper westside New York City apartment building. As they say, “things come in threes,” and so does the fade-to-black close of episode 3 revealing the entry of three NYC billionaires into the secret gaming room for their nefarious Saturday night cards with friends. While our fav sleuths managed to dodge a bullet on being discovered in the very room at the start of this week’s episode, they do so not without raising the suspicions of the megalomaniacal moneybags suspected of returning to the proverbial scene of the crime. The podcasters recognize the billionaire bad guys and gal immediately as Camila White — played astutely by Renee Zewellweger, the hotel magnate and self-proclaimed queen of decor, with a penchant for parlor games; Bash Steed, played by Christoph Waltz as a noted age-defying AI genius; and black sheep philanthropist Jay Pfluge, played by Logan Lerman, who ironically, seems to be sporting a new hand bandage and a set of fingers numbering only nine. For those who have been trying to keep up, the podcasters had been on the hunt for who may have killed not only their beloved doorman, Lester, but also the dry-cleaning mobster, Nicky, with whom the late doorman may or may not have had dealings.   Cameos continue this season as the ever funny Richard Kind returns as West Tower resident Vince Fish. In a fortuitous twist, Vince was Lester’s birding buddy. Oliver had pulled an all-nighter (after taking, of all things, his dog’s anxiety meds) making a murder board and enlisting Vince’s help to decode Lester’s secret ledger notes on Arconia residents and guests. In a hilarious reenactment of bird calls and wing flaps, Vince identifies who’s who in the book, to include what could be the Richie Rich trio. Mabel suggests baiting the three billionaires with a recording of their show letting them know they are onto the one who is missing a finger. The next day, Oliver and Mabel run into her social influencer former friend Althea, where Mabel unexpectedly lies about scoring a big streaming deal with their true crime podcast. Mabel explains why when questioned later with a trauma dump of her past with Althea to Charles and Oliver. The memory moment is interrupted when the trio receive a video text that nine-finger Philanthropist Pfluge has heard their podcast teaser and has invited himself to dinner to “clear things up.” Jay shows up early with a case of cheap beer and a convenient explanation of why he had been in the murder building. Quick on his heels, Camila shows up with her own requisite tacky guest gift. No sooner does Oliver close the front door than Bash Steed arrives with a quad of men-in-black bodyguards. Not surprising, each of the billion dollar suspects was curious and concerned about what the podcasting trio knew of their doings at the Velvet Room on the night in question. With three of the richest people in the world now sitting in Oliver’s apartment eating chocolates and crackers, an impromptu cocktail party ensues. Only Murders proves once again, it can be THE show that makes television cool again. The couch talk of the sextet, reminiscent of a live action game of Clue, is TV gold. The character and acting dynamics makes you believe in scripted TV, but more importantly,  that big screen actors can find a comfortable, relatable lane on the small screen. The podcasters succeed in getting each of the billos by themselves to hear them recount how things went down in the gaming parlor the night of the murder.  When Oliver is chastised for not offering actual dinner at the seven o’clock hour, Charles and Bash retreat to the kitchen to talk and whip up duck a l’orange with Charles’ vintage granny recipe. Although, the way Bash wields a knife around some parsley, his presence in the Velvet Room becomes more suspect. The billos each tell the podcasters that on the night of murder, mobster Nicky showed up to the Velvet Room wielding a meat cleaver, himself, apparently high on more than just life. Jay tried to stop him and got his finger chopped. Bash and Camila bolted from the room in an act of self-preservation. While the stories lined up with each other, they did not bring a solid resolution to the podcasters’ investigation. As our leads try to make sense of the evening’s details, Charles and Oliver harass Mabel for what appears to be her crushing on suspect Jay. Thankfully to break that vibe, Mabel gets a text that the streaming service wants to bring in their podcast. The trio is invited to tour their new potential studio. Be careful what you wish for …or, the very least, sign . Unbeknownst to the true crime amateur sleuths, their dream of growing their little podcast may be poised to become a nightmare as their investigation into Lester and Nicky’s murders may be prove to be the undoing of their hit show — particularly, when a key piece of evidence may not belong to who they think it does. Doc is back, baby and it’s not wasting a single second before diving headfirst into the drama pool.  And honestly? We love that for us. Episode 1, titled “Her Heart,” picks up just one week after the Season 1 finale, which is a genius move. No time jumps, no filler, just straight back into the emotional chaos we’ve been dying for. Amy’s Love Life: A Hot Mess Express Let’s start with Amy, who’s doing her best to patch things up with her boyfriend Jake and her bestie Sonya. Spoiler alert: they’re not having it . And you know what? Fair. Jake saw Amy kissing her ex-husband ( yikes ), and now he’s walking around with a broken heart and a “Do Not Disturb” sign on his emotional availability. Amy, to her credit, tries to explain that the kiss was a goodbye. Just a goodbye! Nothing more! ( Cue dramatic eye roll from Jake. ) But let’s be real, Michael didn’t look like he got that memo. It felt more like a “let’s reignite old flames” kind of kiss than a “thanks for the memories” moment. Regardless, we don’t get to unpack it because, oops, it’s time to save lives. Classic Doc . Medical Mayhem Incoming Amy gets paired with TJ, and surprise! Their patient is a blast from Amy’s foggy, post-head-trauma past. A young woman in desperate need of a heart transplant, a transplant Amy previously  talked her dad out of. Cute, right? Now the girl’s worse off, at the top of the transplant list, and everything’s looking semi-hopeful until Amy and TJ find a mysterious spot on her scan. And in true doctor fashion, they’re legally required to report it. Which basically knocks her off the transplant list and crushes any hope Alex (a.k.a. Dad of the Year) had left. When Your Coping Mechanism is Hostage-Taking And this is where things go from tense  to "sir, this is a hospital."  Alex completely loses it, pulls out a gun, shoots TJ (don’t worry, he lives), and takes the floor hostage like he’s auditioning for a dramatic Netflix thriller. All he wants is for his daughter to get her heart, but unfortunately, life and the hospital board doesn’t work that way. We’ve seen the whole “desperate parent + dying kid = armed standoff” thing before, but Doc  manages to keep it fresh. Maybe it’s the acting. Maybe it’s the pacing. Maybe it’s the fact that we actually care  about these characters. Either way, it slaps. Meanwhile, in Michael’s Soap Opera Life… Michael is literally trying to keep his cool while Amy is inside a hostage situation AND his very pregnant  wife goes into early labor. Oh, and his daughter (with Amy!) keeps calling for updates. So yeah, he's juggling a few things. Someone get this man a coffee and a therapist. Gina, we need you - STAT! Back to the Heart of It All (Sorry, Had To) Eventually, Amy has a memory breakthrough (thanks, trauma!) and remembers exactly why she said no to the transplant years ago: the girl wouldn’t have survived.  It wasn’t a misdiagnosis, it wasn’t cold-heartedness, Amy was right. Unfortunately, it’s now too late. The surgery wouldn’t save her, and Alex has to say goodbye to his daughter in an absolutely brutal scene. Yeah… this one hurts. Breakups, Love Triangles, and the Eternal Mess Jake and Amy's talk, is actually one of the best scenes of the episode. Jake lays it all out: he feels like a backup plan, a safety net, a security blanket. And he’s not wrong. But Amy’s confused, still healing, still trying to make sense of her past and present and she deserves a little grace. Can someone please send these two to couple’s therapy? Preferably with snacks? And then there's Michael, who is clearly still lowkey in love with Amy despite the whole “new baby and current wife” situation. Doc  is planting the seeds for a love triangle this season, and honestly? We’re already messy and invested. Oh, and speaking of triangles: did anyone else clock the tension between Sonya and Jake? Yep, they’re definitely setting something up there. It’s giving slow burn, and we’re here for it. Wait, Where’s Richard? Good question. No real update on Richard’s condition, which is kind of rude, but whatever. Guess we’ll have to tune in next week for that tea. Final Thoughts: “Her Heart” brings Doc  back in full swing: emotional landmines, high-stakes medicine, unresolved sexual tension, and a full-on hostage crisis. You know, just a typical Monday  at this hospital. The episode balances drama and heart (ugh, I did it again) in the best way, and if this premiere is any indication, Season 2 is going to be wild . Rating: 9/10  – Someone hold my pager, I’ve got feelings .

Brace yourself, true crime junkies. The Monster Season 3 trailer  just dropped, and it is every bit as haunting, chilling, and deeply unsettling as fans hoped (or feared). The trailer gives us a taste of the psychological horror ahead without showing too much. Which, honestly, is just enough to make your skin itch. Netflix Doubles Down on True Crime with a Grisly Twist Following the success of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story  and the upcoming Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story , Ryan Murphy and Netflix are clearly not done making us lose sleep. This season focuses on the lonely, twisted life of Ed Gein in 1950s Wisconsin and dares to ask that age-old question: how does someone go from “quiet neighbor” to “body snatcher with a skin suit fetish?” Monster Season 3 Trailer Highlights That Made Us Gasp A Pet Shop Boys remix playing as Hunnam dances in a dimly lit room wearing what appears to be human skin. Last week on Beyond The Gates, the aftermath of Chelsea’s kidnapping. Family and friends gather around her, giving her the strength to pull through the trauma.  The Aftermath Jacob, Kat, and Madison get there just in the nick of time as Chelsea has Allison wrapped in the chains that bound her. Soon, they alert the family that Chelsea is safe. She may be safe, but is she okay? Allison is booked and seems to make a mockery of it. She quotes Chelsea’s Instagram posts and is an overall nuisance to Jacob and Co. Chelsea is convinced to get checked out at the local hospital. The family arrives, and the reunion is sweet. Later, once back in Fairmount Crest, Vernon and Anita plan a coming home party for Chelsea. Chelsea makes an excuse to leave and the Duprees feel bad. I mean, why would you plan a party for a person who has just been kidnapped as if they were coming home from college? Once Allison is back at the precinct, Chelsea confronts her, and Allison quotes more of Chelsea’s Instagram. Allison says that she gave her clout. It seems to be working. She says that Chelsea made her who she is. Chelsea finds Dani looking for her when she gets home. They talk about fame and the pressures. Chelsea feels like she led Allison on. Dani and Kat get through to her, and Chelsea considers including a message against nonviolence in her social media. Reunited and It Feels….Wait What? Martin and Smitty talk Joey and when he will come to collect. Martin says he has something bigger on his mind; his parents are getting a divorce. Smitty is surprised that Martin is upset. They get close, real close. Smitty, however, treats it as though it were an itch he needed to scratch. Meanwhile, Samantha is being a brat. She brings a boy back to Chelsea and Kat’s place. It is clear this boy is up to no good, and little Miss Samantha is about to fall into a trap. She is caught by Kat, who tells her to get him out of there. She tells Samantha that she doesn’t have a key to bring boys around. Samantha pretends to get it, but once Kat is gone, the boy comes back. Truly, I dislike this character. Chelsea was just kidnapped, and she thought it was a good idea to bring a stranger into her home. I hope she gets fired as a spokesmodel. Odd Man Out Nicole thanks Ted for what he did, but the family is preoccupied with Chelsea, so she is in no rush to tell them about it. She does invite him over to see about Chelsea. That isn’t good enough because when he does arrive at the Duprees, he makes sure to tell them, leading to an argument with Nicole. She humiliates him, and the family joins in. She doesn't owe him anything. Ted asks if all the years don't mean that they owe each other a chance to start again. Nicole says no. Bill puts down ten on Nicole, and the rest of the Duprees join in. They taunt him. Ted stands up for himself, and Nicole feels bad in the end. Ted was right, they are all sitting there with Bill as if he hadn't humiliated Dani loudly and had them take part in her humiliation. They are such hypocrites.  Crocodile Tears Leslie cries and boohoo's to Eva about wanting to show people that she is somebody, but I cannot be bothered to feel sorry for her. Leslie, the first thing you did when you found out about your mother was run straight to Anita. Ted tells you he is giving you a house, and the first thing you do is run to humiliate Nicole. You earned every bit of that humiliation.  Eva kicks Ted out of the room he pays for so that she can coddle her mother. Even telling her that she has a right to live beyond the gates. Dear writers, please do not ruin Eva by making her blind to Leslie and enabling her. Thankfully, we got a little break from Leslie after Monday, but do you know who we didn’t get a break from? Who was on for three days and didn't add anything to any story? Guess? Standing On Business Tomas and Kat actually have a cute moment that Eva interrupts. She wanted to talk to Kat about something that she never ends up getting to because Kat is rude to her. I usually have something to say about that but, I mean, this time I get it. She really didn’t have anything of value to say. She is also actively pining over Kat’s man. Eva leaves, Tomas calls Kat a mean girl, and she reads him for filth and then leaves. Eva returns, and later so does Kat; she catches them holding hands. Bill and Hayley talk. Hayley feels shut out. She whines, what she does best. She makes Chelsea's kidnapping about her. Eventually, Bill walks out on her, telling her that he doesn't have time. Caroline comes in. Hayley complains to Caroline. They devise a scheme to make Bill jealous, and he becomes jealous, but it has nothing to do with Hayley. Bill and Dani have leaned on each other during the kidnapping. Sitting close, he calls her babe to the point of being called out by both of his daughters. His look of challenge when Dani tells him that Naomi doesn’t have to worry because she would never go there again.  Bill sees Dani sitting down for breakfast during Friday’s episode, and he sits with her. They have some sort of truce going that they both want to keep. Andre arrives, Bill says, "What’s up, man?” Andre informs him that he is in his seat. Mind you, this is after he comes from seeing Ashley at the hospital. Bill is flummoxed, this boy did not just try to claim his spot. Dani stands by Andre, and eventually Bill stands up. This was delicious. I may no longer be on the Dandre ship; the writers ruined a good thing by making him pine for Ashley and drop Dani like a bad habit to do that. Listen up, Dani is a fan favorite. She’s the character that when people talk about the show, her name will come up, like Erica Kane when we talk about All My Children. So to have that happen to her over bland Ashley? Yeah, we will not forget it. Friday’s episode ends with Derek not telling Ashley about the feeling slowly returning to his legs. Yawn, Lucky and Liz already did similar. We don’t want to see it. Ashley is no Liz Webber so please stop trying to make her that. Final Thoughts On The Week I won’t do a thumbs up or down because this week was just good with very few notes. I always talk about one, and I am sure you know what it is. It involves Ashley and her stupid marriage proposal. The other is the continuity issue that I never thought would resurface. It is very sloppy, and I still don't understand how it happened yet again. Doug catches Vanessa and Joey; it cuts to that, and then there is no follow-up in the next episode. I am also sick of this story and am actually very angry if Doug meets his end due to Vanessa and Joey. If he does, there had better be a fallout and retribution delivered by Doug’s son or someone in his family. Vanessa also must come under fire and cannot get away with her part in it. That said, this week was great, and next week looks even better.

The Witcher  Season 4 is officially landing on Netflix this October and this time, it’s Liam Hemsworth stepping into the iconic leather armor. The freshly released teaser footage doesn’t waste a second either — it throws Hemsworth’s Geralt straight into battle with a screeching wraith and just like that, the monster-hunting chaos is back. Whether you’re still in denial about the casting change or cautiously optimistic, one thing’s clear. This season is determined to prove it still has bite. Oh and yes Season 5 is already confirmed to be the last so enjoy the ride while it lasts. Liam Hemsworth Fights a Wraith in First-Look Teaser Let’s talk about that teaser. It’s dark, moody, and full of the brooding vibes we’ve come to expect. Hemsworth’s Geralt wastes no time getting down to business summoning the Yrden sign and slicing through a spectral wraith like he was born with a silver sword in hand. Does he sound exactly like Cavill? No. Does he still look like someone who could take on an army of drowners before breakfast? Absolutely. What to Expect from the New Season Expect returning favorites like Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), Ciri (Freya Allan), and Jaskier (Joey Batey) along with some new faces including Laurence Fishburne  as fan-favorite vampire Regis. This season will dive deeper into the Baptism of Fire  storyline from Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels and if early buzz is anything to go by we’re in for a darker more politically charged narrative.
