Acclaimed British actress Patricia Routledge, best known for her unforgettable role as Hyacinth Bucket in the hit sitcom Keeping Up Appearances , has died at the age of 96.  Her death marks the end of an era for British comedy and television. Routledge passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Her performance as the eccentric yet lovable character earned Routledge widespread acclaim and a devoted fanbase. A Distinguished Career in Theatre and Television Born on February 17, 1929, in Tranmere, Cheshire, England, Routledge began her acting career on stage in the 1950s. She trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and quickly became a respected figure in British theatre. Her talents extended well beyond television comedy. Routledge won a Tony Award in 1968 for her performance in the Broadway musical Darling of the Day , and she was known for her roles in classical theatre as well as her work in monologues by Alan Bennett and Victoria Wood. She also starred in the popular crime drama Hetty Wainthropp Investigates  from 1996 to 1998, showcasing her versatility as a performer. Honored for a Lifetime of Contributions Over her seven-decade career, Routledge received numerous honors including being appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1993, Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2004, and was made a Dame Commander in 2017 for services to theatre and charity. We begin the episode with a brief month flashback to Cipher taking care of his dad that was in the chamber in the previous episode. I’m not sure what is going on here, but I’m wondering if somehow Cipher is pulling his powers from his dad’s body. I could totally be wrong, but that’s the impression I’m getting so far.  We cut to Marie rushing through the crowd after the fight to the locker room and sees Jordan having a moment of frustration and anger after Cipher took over their body. I really felt for them, they already are going through a lot right, and this on top of that. It is so upsetting and heartbreaking to watch. I really just want to know what Cipher is and what his motives are.  Cate arrives at Elmira and is forced to strip down and change into her uniform before being taken to her cell. This was a really hard watch & I felt so bad for Cate. I know she’s done some pretty crazy stuff, but the writers do an amazing job of making you sympathize with her character throughout all of that. The power situation is still off in this week’s episode; I’m wondering what it’s going to take to get her powers back or if they’ll come back even stronger than they were before.  Sam comes home to see his parents. Which starts out pretty good for a scene or two, but it quickly goes bad. He’s enjoying time with them and catching up, then he snaps on his mom because he believes she’s being sneaky. During that heated moment, he unintentionally throws his dad backwards onto the ground from his powers. We also get to learn a little bit more lore about Sam’s upbringing and how he ended up becoming who he is today. I found this to be really interesting, especially after we had essentially little to no Sam content in last week’s episode.  Emma, Jordan, and Marie together. Marie suggests that they all go to save Cate from Elmira. Emma doesn’t want to do it at first but is convinced. They begin to come up with a plan to get in and get out. Emma talks to Sam and tries to convince him to help them save Cate, but he doesn’t want to.  Andre’s Dad meets with Cipher. Cipher knows that he’s been asking around about him, he turns the conversation around and wants to know what happened to Andre. He holds Cipher at knifepoint, Cipher grabs the knife and stabs his own hand. I know I’ve probably said this every week at this point, but, I am so nervous about Cipher and what his plans are for everyone. It’s actually terrifying the way he acts towards everyone and everything. Later on, Andre’s Dad seemingly starts to have a stroke and everything in the house starts flying at him.  Emma, Jordan, & Marie are on the room and then someone throws a smoke bomb in and takes them to their cells in Elmira. Emma’s cell ends up being across from Cate’s and Marie’s across from Jordan’s. The banter in both scenes is really good and you can see everyone’s emotions clearly concerning the situation they’re currently in. I loved Marie and Jordan talking to each other, but Cate and Emma were such a unique and interesting duo to see this week.   Marie and Jordan talking through the walls and then Cipher shows up. Marie realizes she can’t control her powers. Jordan standing up to Cipher. Cipher takes Marie out of her cell, shows her the door that Andre was trying to ruin when he died. Then, Cipher takes Marie to a cell and sees he is holding Annabeth hostage. They shock her and take her back to her cell. Marie says that she is going to kill Cipher when she ascends to her full potential.  Cate uses her powers on the guard to get the keys from him. She gets Emma out of her cell and is on her way to save Marie and Jordan. Jordan thinks it’s suspicious that no one is coming after they escaped. Marie said she’s going to get Annabeth and Jordan says no one is getting left behind. Finally, after their breakout, everyone gets to Annabeth and her throat has been slit. Everyone is telling Marie they have to go, but Marie tries to save Annabeth’s life. Everyone’s nose starts bleeding and having a visceral reaction to Marie trying to save Annabeth’s life and the guards start coming and the episode ends. This was such an insane scene to end on (as it is almost every week), but wow, Marie is getting stronger and stronger by the minute & I want to know why her powers were affecting everyone like that. Cipher definitely planned and expected it all, so I’m interested to see what happens there.  Overall, another very strong episode, getting to delve into more of the character’s story and advancing the overarching plot of this season. I had no issues with this & I think this is one of my favorite episodes so far, I would give it 5/5 stars.

Abbott Elementary is back, and with it comes the perfect mix of chaos, charm, and heartfelt comedy. The season premiere wastes no time throwing us into the mayhem of a new school year while setting up fresh dynamics for the teachers we love. A New Face in the Classroom The big introduction this season is Dominic, played by Luke Tennie. He’s Barbara’s former student-turned-new teacher, and Barbara’s initial shock is both amusing and tender. True to form, she handles it with grace, but it does give her a new protégé, which doesn’t sit so smoothly with Janine. Classic Abbott Chaos The school year kickoff wouldn’t be complete without disasters. This time: stale donuts Mr. Johnson neglected to toss, a gas leak, and a literal ceiling collapse. In true Abbott fashion, the teachers take it all in stride (mostly). Melissa, meanwhile, gets bumped up to teaching sixth grade and quickly regrets it after hearing horror stories from Jacob and Joseph. Her attempt to swap classes with Janine? Ava denied it, of course. Team Building, Abbott Style The district sends in an outsider to run team-building exercises, which sounds like a nightmare and quickly becomes one. Gregory discovers Mr. Johnson never learned how to ride a bike, and suddenly that becomes his mission. What follows is a clumsy journey that ends with everyone pitching in to help Johnson ride the bike without crashing. It’s messy, chaotic, and somehow perfect, and Barbara reminds the district rep that this is precisely what the district was hoping to see. (Disney/Gilles Mingasson) TYLER JAMES WILLIAMS, QUINTA BRUNSON, JERRY MINOR, WILLIAM STANFORD DAVIS Personal Notes & New Arcs Ava : Still Ava. She’s rewriting history, head-over-heels in love, and a little delusional. Still, it’s entertaining, and I’m glad she and O’Shon are holding strong. Janine : The standout arc here is her insecurity over Barbara mentoring Dominic. Watching Janine wrestle with identity and purpose was quietly powerful. By the end, she leans into being herself and realizes she has the potential to mentor others as well. Final Thoughts This episode felt more like a teaser of the season than a full meal, but it worked. The laughs weren’t as plentiful as past episodes, but the groundwork is there. We have new dynamics, team-bonding activities, and plenty of room for growth. Rating: 7/10  – A solid setup with good story potential. Not the funniest episode, but the heart and foundation for what's to come are strong.

What’s New in Georgie and Mandy Season 2 Trailer After a surprisingly solid debut season the spinoff from Young Sheldon  is back and doubling down on the drama laughs and awkward family dinners. The Season 2 trailer wastes no time showing us that Georgie Cooper and Mandy McAllister are still very much winging it in their new-ish marriage. Between raising baby Cece juggling family expectations and Georgie getting punched in the face yes seriously this trailer is full of twists. We also get glimpses of Mandy not having it with Georgie’s immaturity and Georgie trying to prove he’s more than a teenage husband with a GED and a tire shop. Familiar Faces and Family Drama Fans of Young Sheldon  will recognize plenty of returning characters including Meemaw who is clearly still the only adult in the room and George Sr in what look like some hilarious flashbacks. Sheldon might be off being a genius elsewhere but the rest of the Cooper crew is alive and as dysfunctional as ever. The trailer also hints at workplace chaos more parenting fails and what looks like a couples therapy session gone wrong. Buckle up. Why You Should Be Watching Whether you’re here for the comedy the chaos or just to see Georgie’s glorious descent into exhausted fatherhood Georgie and Mandy Season 2  promises more of what made the first season a sleeper hit. It’s messy real and way more relatable than we’d like to admit. If the trailer is anything to go by Season 2 is about to crank the southern sitcom energy all the way up. If you blinked, you might have missed it. Netflix has officially cancelled The Ultimatum Queer Love  after only two drama-filled seasons and fans are not exactly thrilled. The reality dating show that dared to center queer women and nonbinary folks in messy love triangles has reached its abrupt end. For those of us who live for chaotic proposals and emotionally unprepared 20-somethings making lifetime decisions on camera, this stings. So what happened? Why did Netflix drop one of its most unique dating show spin offs? And what does this mean for LGBTQ representation in the reality TV space? Buckle up because we’re breaking it all down. What Was The Ultimatum Queer Love All About? The Ultimatum Queer Love  was a queer-centric spin off of The Ultimatum Marry or Move On , the hit reality series where couples test their relationships by dating other people. The twist here? All of the cast members were women and nonbinary people. It was dramatic. It was emotional. It was refreshingly different from the usual heteronormative dating show formula. Season 1 dropped in 2023 and immediately sparked buzz for its representation and wild love swaps. Season 2 followed in summer 2025 with even more relationship chaos. Just when it felt like the show was finding its groove, Netflix cut the cord. Why Did Netflix Cancel The Ultimatum Queer Love? Netflix hasn't spilled all the tea, but insiders suggest the usual suspects: viewership numbers and strategic realignment of content. Translation? Not enough people watched and reality TV is getting crowded. Twitter, TikTok and Reddit lit up with disappointed reactions. Many praised the show for providing rare queer representation in mainstream reality TV and called out Netflix for pulling the plug too soon. The move has also reignited conversations about how queer shows are often expected to overperform to stay alive while straight-focused content gets renewal after renewal. The Ultimatum Queer Love  deserved better. It was messy in all the best ways and filled a much-needed gap in reality TV. While it may be gone from Netflix, it lives on in memes, reaction gifs and the hearts of chaotic queer romantics everywhere. Want to see more inclusive shows stick around? Stream them, scream about them online and remind the platforms that queer love stories are not just optional side quests. They're the main event. Let’s keep the pressure on because the cancellation of The Ultimatum Queer Love  may be the end of the show but not the end of the conversation.

In the season opener, we jump right into the chaos of the team being split up from the aftermath of last season and the dirty Deputy Chief that got the intelligence unit shut down. Atwater and Ruzek are back on patrol, doing the beat cop thing, while Torres and Burgess? Yeah, they don’t even have their badges anymore. Meanwhile, Voight is the only one officially on active cases, and he’s juggling catching cases in progress while pushing hard to get the Intelligence Unit back on its feet. Remember, last season ended with that dirty deputy chief scandal, so the higher-ups aren’t exactly thrilled about reinstating the unit. Now here’s where it gets interesting: the ATF is actually running the big gun case, tracking down this gun runner called Raptor who’s flooding the streets with weapons, including a Draco mini that killed a man and a 75-year-old grandmother. Voight was trying to help her grandson. It’s brutal stuff. Voight is helping out but doing it kind of under the radar. The powers that be don’t want the Intelligence Unit back officially, so he’s bringing some of his team in off the books, keeping it quiet so no one can shut them down before they get the job done. When they finally hit Raptor’s hideout, the stuff they find is wild. Boxes and boxes of guns from all over, gun shows, manufacturers, even gun stores all across the country. And get this: many of these guns were issued to CPD officers but never  reported stolen. So, these weapons meant to protect the city ended up on the streets and were used to kill innocent people. That’s a huge blow, and it really shines a light on how broken the system is when the department itself isn’t reporting lost or stolen weapons. Voight’s frustration here is palpable and he knows this isn’t just about one bad guy, it’s a system failing. Voight’s determination is clear as he works to get his team back officially reinstated. Even though they’re doing the work covertly, they need the full authority and support to take down dangerous criminals like Raptor. There’s a moment where he lays it all out,  how the ATF is tracking every gun tied to the case, but the CPD’s failure to report stolen guns undermines everything. He’s basically saying, “If the system won’t protect the city, I will.” The episode hits hard when they start naming the victims linked to Raptor’s guns: George Malkin, Javon Dyer, Anthony Rodriguez, Cody Rodriguez, Con Williams, and Agie Montcovery. These aren’t just numbers or stats, they were real people, taken by weapons that slipped through the cracks. It makes you realize what’s at stake beyond the gun runner chase. By the end, Voight wins the fight to get his squad back. The unit is reinstated, and it’s clear this isn’t just about paperwork or authority but it’s about having a team that works, that fights for the city when the system won’t. They’re finally back together, ready to face whatever comes next. Overall, this episode doesn’t just show a manhunt for a gun runner,  it digs into the frustrating politics and bureaucracy of policing, the real-life consequences of systemic failure, and the fight to keep a team alive that actually makes a difference. It’s gritty, it’s emotional, and it leaves you rooting hard for Voight and his crew.

The Season 9 trailer just dropped, and it casually throws two of our favorite first responders into outer space . Yes, really. Angela Bassett’s Athena and Hen, played by Aisha Hinds, are trading in sirens and stretchers for zero gravity and rocket ships. It’s chaotic. It’s ridiculous. It’s 911  at its most 911 -iest. And we are absolutely here for it. Here’s everything we know so far about how Athena and Hen end up defying gravity and why this season might be the wildest ride yet. A Tech Billionaire, a Whale, and a Rocket Ship Walk into a Firehouse The drama kicks off when a not-so-subtle Elon Musk stand-in, Trip Houser (played by Mark Consuelos), gets eaten by a whale  during a kayaking mishap. Enter Hen, who saves him from Jonah-level doom. Because 911 logic , Trip is so grateful he invites Hen to join him on the maiden voyage of his private spaceflight. And because Hen logic , she says yes. Athena, naturally, says, “Nope,” until she very obviously gets talked into going. The trailer doesn’t explain exactly how, but it probably involves sass, eye rolls, and peer pressure. Either way, the ladies launch. But Wait, There's a Geomagnetic Storm Of course, it wouldn’t be 911  without life-threatening nonsense. Right before liftoff, someone warns Trip that a geomagnetic storm could turn this joyride into cosmic chaos. He ignores it because billionaires gonna billionaire. Cue radio silence from the ship and debris falling from the sky like the apocalypse just got scheduled for Thursday night. Back on Earth, the rest of the 118 is scrambling to save LA from raining space junk while their coworkers are drifting somewhere over the thermosphere. Is This Real or Just a Simulation? Some fans are theorizing this might all be a training simulation or dream sequence. But from what we’ve seen, this space trip is very real and very on-brand for a show that once had a guy get impaled by a barbecue skewer during an earthquake. What This Means for Season 9 With Bobby gone (RIP), the show needs new emotional stakes and bigger-than-life plots. Sending Athena and Hen to space? Consider the stakes launched. This could shift leadership dynamics at Station 118, put characters in literal life-or-death situations, and maybe even hint at who steps up in Bobby’s absence. Whether you love 911  for its high-octane rescues, juicy character drama, or just enjoy yelling “WHAT?!” at your TV every five minutes, Season 9 is already promising to be next-level unhinged. Athena and Hen going to space is the kind of bold nonsense only 911  can pull off with a straight face. So buckle up. Or, you know, strap in.
