In a move that feels long overdue Apple has officially decided to kill the “plus” in Apple TV+  slimming down the name to the much cleaner and catchier Apple TV . The announcement came subtly through a press release about the upcoming Formula One feature F1 The Movie  but make no mistake this is a major branding shift for one of streaming’s most premium players. Let’s be honest most people were already calling it Apple TV. The “plus” always felt like an afterthought or a half-hearted attempt to keep up with Disney Plus Paramount Plus and the whole plus-sized streaming trend. But as it turns out simplicity is the new premium. Apple seems to have realized that less really is more especially when your platform is already synonymous with high-quality content and sleek design. According to Apple the new identity reflects a more “vibrant and streamlined” brand. Translation they are tired of the confusion between the Apple TV app the Apple TV device and Apple TV+ and really who could blame them? Trying to explain the difference was like walking someone through the plot of Severance  without a flowchart. The rollout of the new branding is expected to happen gradually so do not be surprised if you still see a “plus” lingering in your app store for a bit. But the intent is clear Apple is ditching the trend and doubling down on its own brand power. While some may see this as just a cosmetic update it could signal more changes to come. A revamped UI a fresh logo or even new content strategies might not be far behind. Apple is playing the long game here positioning itself as the elegant alternative in a crowded market of cluttered names and chaotic interfaces. So goodbye plus we will not miss you. So, what did happen to The Woman in Cabin 10?” It is THE question on everyone’s mind when watching the tense psychological thriller, confined to a luxury cruise ship traveling through the picturesque landscape of the Norwegian coastline, the latest from director and screenwriter Simon Stone. Released October 10 on Netflix, the streaming film stars Keira Knightly as award-winning journalist Laura Blacklock invited on the lavish yacht for an assignment to cover a private charity gala and its benefactors. When she witnesses a supposed passenger going overboard not long into the trip, her claims of such go unheeded by the crew and fellow passengers for the remainder of the voyage, leaving her fighting for her life to uncover the truth. The film is based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Ruth Ware. Though there are key differences that depart from the original manuscript, to include a bit of Laura Blacklock’s backstory and the resolution at end, the main premise of the movie remains largely in line with the book.  In the film adaptation, the Aurora Borealis has set sail on its maiden voyage in the waters of Norway, where the scenery and setting serve as a stunning backdrop to the mystery and suspense of the plot. Invited by a wealthy couple whose money cannot save the dying wife, Knightly’s Laura Blacklock is joined on the cruise with a plethora of posh people — from tech gurus and flamboyant musicians, to socialites and social influencers, and one noted photographer surprisingly familiar to her. Shutterbug Ben Morgan, played by David Ajala, turns out to be the investigative journalist’s ex. Though, two years removed from their pairing, the former couple manage to let the snark and sarcasm of unresolved animosity of their wayward relationship seep into every conversation during their brief time onboard. But, a familiar face may be just what Laura Blacklock needs when things take a dark turn.  Not long into the trip, the other passengers start to turn on the journalist, as well, when her incessant pandering for answers about the overboard guest puts a damper on their trip, believing that she is either crazy or starved for attention. Despite her ex and even other passengers warning her to drop her snooping, Laura Blacklock cannot escape the push to find the answers to the unfolding mystery; she remains dogged in her search for the truth and vindication, leaving her often isolated and ostracized. Particularly, when it becomes known to the other guests that the journalist has just come off a traumatic experience witnessing the death of informant by drowning. Could she be confusing the two events?! For those who have never read the book, watching the events unfold can become quite maddening as you, yourself, begin to question how the film will ultimately explain away who we know to be once there, but is now gone, with those who should know claiming that who never existed. As I said, it’s maddening. For anyone who has grown up watching Knightly build her acting career in films such Bend It Like Beckham and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, it is refreshing to see the maturity and depth of her performance working through that psychological madness, as the seasoned journalist hell-bent on speaking truth as the voice of the voiceless — whether in her work or personal  life. At once, determined and dogmatic in what she knows to be reality, the character also displays a quiet vulnerability and sensitivity as she finds herself standing alone on this quest for answers.  The film’s pacing and frantic explanation of what is known information by the lead protagonist, Knightly’s performance is stripped of any overt Hollywood pomp and circumstance, leaving behind a work of her art that is decidedly engaging and relatable.  Nevertheless, the film still feels eerily similar to the Hitchcock style of the-mind-playing-tricks as a cinematic construct of another film. In the 2005 thriller Flight Plan, starring Jodie Foster, a woman boards a plane with her daughter, falls asleep and discovers that the little girl is missing. In a frenzy to locate her missing child she frightens both crew and passengers alike in a search that may be only in her mind. The scenes in this latest thriller of Knightly painfully explaining what she knows she saw in that cabin were similar to Foster’s frantic pleas of the same vibration trying to convince anyone who would listen that she, in fact, boarded that plane with her child.  That use of dramatic irony in both films, where the audience is aware of crucial information that the supporting characters are not, is classic Hitchcock. The technique intensifies the engagement and emotional response you have as the viewer, making you much more invested in the outcome, often eagerly shouting at the screen, yourself, that ”she’s telling the truth!” In a star-studded cast, Knightly shares the screen with the likes of Hannah Waddington in her role as a Heidi Heatherly, a well-to-do millionaire onboard with her husband as donors to their hosts’ foundation. While Waddington is always a joy to watch, her role this go-round is not too much of a departure from her well-known character Rebecca Welton on the uber popular Ted Lasso series across the grid on Apple+ TV. It was not too much of a stretch to see Waddington serve up another decent performance as a strong woman of wealth, with a sharp wit and humor, and nary a refreshing beverage not far from her hands. The film also stars Critics’ Choice Award winner Guy Pearce (Mildred Pierce), playing Richard Bullmer as the wealthy influential businessman who has arranged the cruise for his dying wife, Anne. At the start, Bullmer is the charming host of the luxury liner. But, his patience wears thin with the journalist and her claims that something sinister is afloat. No pun intended. Always dominant in his performances, Pearce once again allows his onscreen persona and subsequent personality to consume him as he moves his character effortlessly between affable man of privilege, aggrieved husband, and ambiguous antagonist, with a style that is as intriguing as it is intense. Sadly, to dive too deep into the plotline and how individual scenes playout in the film would open you up to putting all the pieces together, well before it's time. And, what makes this film work comes in allowing the tension to build organically  to create that much-needed suspense to lock you in to see how it all ends, for yourself. So, in much the same way as the voyage of the Aurora Borealis, Cabin 10 will remain locked for the remainder of this review. Do not keep yourself in suspense. See if you can can figure it all out before it's too late for The Woman in Cabin 10. Streaming among now on Netflix. Watch it before someone spoils it.

NBC is ready to cheer… or maybe trip, with its newest comedy series Stumble , officially set to premiere on Friday, November 7, 2025 , at 8:30 PM. In a fall lineup filled with reboots and tired procedurals, Stumble  is swinging in with pom-poms, problems, and a cast of chaotic misfits you won’t want to miss. The network is clearly banking on comedy with a bite, and Stumble  just might stick the landing. Created by veteran comedy duo Jeff Astrof and Liz Astrof , Stumble  follows Courteney Potter , played by the razor-sharp Jenn Lyon , a once-legendary junior college cheer coach whose career is derailed by a viral scandal. Now, she’s stuck coaching at a floundering no-name college, desperately trying to rebuild her reputation and win a record-breaking fifteenth title with a squad that barely knows how to spell "go team." Think Glee  meets The Office  with a twist of Cheer ... if that twist were dipped in energy drinks and self-delusion. The mockumentary-style single-camera comedy comes packed with an ensemble of overachieving underdogs and total disasters. Add in a recurring role from Kristin Chenoweth  as a clueless assistant coach and things spiral from cheer practice into pure chaos. NBC is doubling down on fresh, female-driven storytelling with Stumble , and the Friday night time slot signals confidence that this quirky cheerleading comedy can punch above its weight. With early buzz building and a creative team that knows how to mix heart with hilarious dysfunction, Stumble  might be the sleeper hit of the season. Dear devoted members of the ton, your patience has finally been rewarded. Netflix has officially dropped the release dates for Bridgerton Season 4 , and we are already dusting off our opera gloves and practicing our best Lady Whistledown impressions. The hit Regency-era drama is returning in early 2026, and like last season, it will arrive in two parts. Because apparently making us wait is now a Bridgerton tradition. Part 1 will premiere on January 29, 2026, followed by Part 2 on February 26, 2026 . That gives fans exactly four weeks to gasp, theorize, and spiral over every longing glance and scandalous letter before the second half lands. If the Season 3 rollercoaster taught us anything, it is that Shonda Rhimes and her team know how to keep us hanging by a cravat thread. Netflix kept details of Season 4 under wraps for months, leading to wild speculation across social media. Now with the Bridgerton Season 4 release date  finally confirmed, the fandom can breathe again or at least until the trailer drops and breaks the internet all over again. While the central couple has not been officially announced, the smart money is on either Benedict Bridgerton or Francesca’s continued arc, given how the timeline is shaping up. Bridgerton remains one of Netflix’s biggest original series, and with good reason. Between its steamy romances, opulent costumes, and a soundtrack that turns modern hits into orchestral slow burns, it’s the kind of show that practically begs for a binge. Thoughts: This book is yet another banger from Cynthia A Rodriguez. It has all the makings of a book I’d love. Romance, spice, Latine cultura and traditions and a spitfire mejor amiga. This story is like a love letter to familia, blood and chosen familia a like. Quintin’s journey to learn more of his culture and create a familia he never had was inspiring. Although he’s created a found familia filled with love and amazing friends, his willingness to stay by Daniela and make room for both she and her child makes him one of my favorite book boyfriends this year.  Daniela’s familia’s tightness and the way her bestie supports her regardless, is the kind of safety net everyone should have. Elsbeth’s third season premiere begins with a guest appearance from Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris, Andy Richter, and Marcia DeBonis and Mark St. Cyr. This episode opens with Scotty Bristol, a famous late night TV host and his writers are at odds when they pitch him a new monologue. They know it’s good, and hope Scotty will accept it. Of course he doesn't like it. The executive producer and head writer, Laurel, gives the writers the bad news, angering them. She rushes off to meet their guest, Sheryl Jacobs, who happens to be a published writer. She brought her friend, Elsbeth. These two met at the wellness center she writes about in her book.  Elsbeth has fallen asleep in the makeup room, but wakes and is introduced to Scotty Bristol. She’s giddily fan girl’s over him. He’s rude and dismissive, but Elsbeth doesn't notice as she continues her Elsbethian babbling. He walks away. Sheryl’s later interviewed and she tells Scotty she knows Mickey, the show's announcer. Mickey, Laurel and Scotty created the show, “Way Late with Scotty Bristol”. Mickey, Laurel’s husband, has health problems, and can't take all the verbal abuse disguised in jokes that Scotty regularly directs at him on camera. Laurel goes to edit the show, and sneaks off to talk to Scotty about letting Mickey take some time off. What happens in Scotty's office leads to a bizarre high-profile murder.  Elsbeth gets home and is happily met by Teddy and Gonzo! She finally gets a chance to sleep after returning from seeing Angus in Scotland.  It doesn't last long as she gets the call from CPT Wagner.  The investigation of Scotty Bristol’s murder begins.  She's still all dressed in pink plaid, a tam o'shanter and her signature multiple bags. Love her colorful outfits. Elsbeth meets her  new assigned officer, Officer Grace Hackett, who is also a stand-up comic in her spare time. She's a bit emotional over the death of her idol.  CPT Wagner and Detective Smullen are back. Smullen is handling this high-profile case, as Wagner oversees it. Elsbeth and her extraordinary observation skills are immediately put to work as she questions Mickey and Laurel. Later, she succumbs to jet-lag and falls asleep at the shredder, known as Mickey Two. Another important item that leads to resolving this case. The next day, Elsbeth returns to the office bearing gifts for everyone. She has just the right gifts for LT Conner, CPT Wagner, and Detective Smullen. Changes at the office are apparent, but Elsbeth handles it. Officer Hackett also has some exceptional skills. She adds her knowledge of comedy and comedy writing to the investigative clues. They brainstorm the Bristol case in CPT Wagner’s office. Elsbeth, Detective Smullen and Officer Hackett return to the show to question the staff. The clues divulged lead our illustrious team to find the killer. A sudden death throws them off, but Elsbeth's trademark sleuthing skills and relentless determination leads her to the truth. All of this and evident workplace changes reflecting negatively also get corrected thanks to attention and actions addressed.  The Elsbeth show never missed a beat. It seems to naturally pick up where the last season left off, but missing Detective Kaya Blanke. Officer Hackett fits in quickly. Love the short improv class Laurel gives Elsbeth. It is what leads to solving the crime. Glad the show’s original cast has returned. They are in sync and working very well together. It's like watching a feel-good show perfecting itself. There were laugh-out-loud, aha and smile-worthy, heartwarming moments throughout the show. That and the superb guest stars made this show truly enjoyable and exceptional. They made art imitating life too real, especially Stephen Colbert. This was an Excellent way to begin the new season!  I give this show a 5 out 5 Stars.

Beyond The Gates Weekly Recap — 10/6–10/10/25 This week on Beyond The Gates, a flame is rekindled and leads to an explosive coming together, a couple reunites, Eva keeps running from accountability like it’s cardio, Bill and Hayley prove that Dani is living rent-free in their minds, and newcomer Alex Cheeks shows off his acting chops. Let’s get into it. Martin and Smitty Reconcile? Martin, impatient as ever, finally believes he’s found a way to win Smitty back by confessing to his crime. He didn't think it through, but he’s committed. Smitty assumes it’s another manipulation tactic, but Martin proves his sincerity. By the end of the week, with some help from Nicole and Ted, Smitty invites him to come home. Baby Blues Jacob and Naomi are still having a conversation about her pregnancy. Jacob is painting this idyllic fairytale of family life, while Naomi is realistic about what motherhood could for her career. She’s not wrong. Women are often expected to juggle everything flawlessly, then get questioned about why they didn’t stay home longer. Naomi’s side hits home for a lot of women. Not to mention, not every woman wants to have children, and that is okay. Doug’s Memorial We didn’t see the memorial, not really. Was it after the service? The repast? Who knows. I’m just going to assume it’s because Doug is alive. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. The same goes for why we couldn’t get a day player to play Deanna, Doug’s daughter, for two episodes. What we did  get was less about Doug and more about Joey and Vanessa. But Alex Cheeks, who plays Doug’s son Donnell, absolutely ate. He stood toe-to-toe with veteran John Lindstrom and everyone he interacted with, and maybe showed up one or two…insert wink emoji. He’s giving promise, depth, and presence. I need Donnell to stick around and start digging into his father’s death, because the way the mobster is being set up as his mentor? Disgusting. I also need him to find out what really happened with his mother and that man. Give Alex something to chew on he can handle it. Kat / Roblox / Eva Chelsea, bless her messy heart, lets it slip that Kat loves Tomas. But instead of dragging him like he deserves, she let's him off a little too easily. Insert heavy eyeroll . Tomas has all the flavor of a boiled potato, no depth, no spice, no reason for two sisters to be scrapping over him. I’m sorry, I held my tapping fingers back too long. Tomas gets all giddy over Chelsea’s news and invites Kat to lunch, making reservations before even asking. When Kat declines, Eva calls, and this man offers the reservation to her. Deep heavy negro spiritual sigh. Eva shows up to the country club with Leslie, who encourages her to lean all the way into her sidepiece era. She approaches Tomas, practically begging him to be with her. Kat walks up mid-plea, and Tomas chooses Kat. Kat gloats, Eva walks out humiliated, and I’m over here praying for both sisters to find better hobbies and better men. Eva goes home to blame her mother for her mess. Meanwhile, Kat and Tomas “kiss and make up” in a country club closet, and let’s just say Kat finally climbs Mount O. Whether it’s the thrill of public sex or just winning over her sister, who can say. He sleeps with your sister, and you just say okay, you love me, you love me, and you cheated on me, but let’s knock boots in the closet of a country club…. Regarding both sisters, I again, deep heavy negro spiritual sigh. The Quad Bill and Hayley have made Dani their full-time job. Bill hires a private investigator to dig up dirt on Andre while Hayley spirals into insecurity. Meanwhile, Dani and Andre continue to sizzle. Bill lies about having a meeting, which turns out to be false. Hayley, convinced he’s with Dani, storms through Dani’s house like she’s auditioning for Snapped,  yelling for him to come out. The whole time, Dani’s in lingerie, freshly taken to heights Bill could never reach courtesy of Andre. Cut to Orphey Jean’s, where Andre is grabbing food for Dani. Bill rolls up with his chest puffed out, ready to square up. And I have to say, one of my favorite moments this week is Andre standing his ground. Say what you want about him being flaky, but he does not play about Dani. He checks anyone who disrespects her, and I love that for her. Bill, though? His jealousy has me giggling and kicking my feet, but I know better. He doesn’t love Dani, he never thought that she would move on. He said as much to Hayley. If she ever gave him another chance, he’d drop her the second Andre disappeared. Bill needs to grovel and show genuine remorse before I could ever root for reconciliation. Additionally, we need more backstory on what went wrong between them. Final Thoughts This was a solid week, balanced, focused. The stories flowed, the pacing was tight, and the drama was there in all its soapiness. My only note? Kat needs a new man. One who matches her energy, not drains it. Tomas isn’t it for her or  Eva. Sorry to that man. Highlights:  Martin and Smitty’s reconciliation, Alex Cheeks proving he’s one to watch, and Dani and Andre turning up the heat. Hell’s Kitchen just got a whole lot hotter. At this year’s New York Comic Con, Marvel didn’t just toss fans a bone, they unleashed a full-on superhero buffet. The headliner? The Daredevil Born Again  Season 2 trailer finally dropped, and it brought more grit, gut-punches, and grounded storytelling than anything else on Disney+. But that was just the start. Marvel also gave fans sneak peeks at VisionQuest , Wonder Man , and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man , all of which tease a wild, interconnected future for the MCU’s streaming slate. Note: no official footage of the trailer has been made public. Let’s talk Daredevil first. Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter hit the stage at NYCC like returning royalty, introducing a trailer that was equal parts emotional gut check and vigilante power trip. We open on Matt Murdock and Karen Page living a rare moment of peace, complete with candlelight and romantic vibes, until Matt’s enhanced senses explode with pain, and we’re yanked back into the chaos. Fans also got their first look at Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye chilling with a sundae in a diner, creepy as hell and Daredevil himself grinning like a lunatic as he tasers thugs in an alley. This version of Matt Murdock might be more unhinged than we remember, and we are so here for it. The trailer was part of a larger Marvel TV panel led by Brad Winderbaum, who confirmed X-Men '97  will hit Disney+ in summer 2026. The series drops in fall 2026 and hints at the arrival of a certain black goo that fans are already pegging as Venom. So, yeah, Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Venom. Try not to scream. Marvel clearly came to Comic Con with receipts. And if the Daredevil Born Again  trailer is any indication, Season 2 will pull no punches, both emotionally and physically. With Jessica Jones back in action, Fisk running the city, Bullseye eating dessert like a serial killer, and Daredevil himself acting a little too thrilled about electrocuting bad guys, this next chapter looks like everything fans loved about the Netflix series, just darker, stranger, and a lot more dangerous. Literally. Because this is Marvel, and yes, we’re getting a show within a show where the lead is rebooting his own fictional superhero career. Confused? Don’t be. Just embrace the chaos. Abdul Mateen’s Simon Williams is a former stuntman turned actor trying to rebrand himself as Wonder Man in an industry that is somehow more cutthroat than fighting Thanos. Enter Ben Kingsley, chewing every bit of scenery once again as Trevor Slattery, Marvel’s favorite washed-up Shakespearean mess. If you thought Iron Man 3  was the last we’d see of Trevor, think again. The trailer teases him as the show’s wildcard mentor-slash-menace, and honestly, we’re here for it. Visually, Wonder Man  blends gritty Los Angeles studio backlots with that signature Marvel polish.
