FX has officially canceled the comedy series English Teacher  after two seasons, ending the show’s run less than two years after its premiere. The series starred Brian Jordan Alvarez as Evan Marquez, a high school English teacher trying to survive students, administrators, and his own chaotic life. English Teacher  premiered on FX on September 2, 2024, and immediately carved out a niche with its quirky take on high school life. Set in a high school in Austin, Texas, the series followed Evan as he juggled lesson plans, personal drama, and the disarray of a faculty that sometimes felt as unpredictable as its students. In February 2025, FX renewed the series for a second season, which premiered on September 25, 2025. All ten episodes were available to stream on Hulu the day after airing, making it easy to binge. The season two finale, Graduation , had Student Clay named commencement speaker, Evan is roped into teaching summer school against his better judgment, and romantic tensions bubble to the surface as Gwen’s boyfriend Nick plans a proposal and Coach Markie nearly confesses feelings for Gwen. As he gears up for the final season of Apple TV’s WondLa , Williams sat down with The TV Cave  to reflect on the emotional journey of his character Rovinder, the show’s grand sense of adventure, and why he’s still holding out hope this “final” season isn’t really the end. WondLa  is adapted from Tony DiTerlizzi’s beloved book series The Search for WondLa , the Apple TV production has been praised for its cinematic visuals, heartfelt storytelling, and surprisingly deep emotional core. As Williams puts it, this is more than a show about robots and futuristic worlds, it’s a story about connection, family, and what it means to find your place in an ever-changing universe. “I saw the words ‘final season’ and I hated them,” Williams admitted with a laugh. “This story ends beautifully, but it’s been such a real journey that I can’t help but feel sad to see it go.” That bittersweet tone pretty much sums up the mood surrounding the series finale. For Williams, who voices the wise and loyal Rovinder, WondLa  has been one of his most creatively demanding yet rewarding roles. Williams revealed that finding Rovinder’s voice was no easy feat. “When we first started recording, it was more creature sounding,” he said. “We went through so many versions and rerecords to get it right.
