NBC is not tiptoeing into 2026. The network’s new midseason schedule reads like a caffeinated mashup of sports, spectacle, and star power. Between The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, the Winter Olympics, The Voice: Battle of Champions, and one little event called Super Bowl LX, NBC is clearly making a play for your entire winter.
The Peacock’s Big Swing: Reggie Dinkins Rises
Front and center in NBC’s 2026 midseason lineup is The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, a new comedy starring Tracy Morgan as a disgraced football player trying to rehab his image. It’s a premise tailor-made for NBC’s audience—sports nostalgia meets redemption arc with Morgan’s signature brand of chaos to keep it lively.
The show premieres February 23 with two back-to-back episodes starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT, before settling into its regular 8:30 slot on March 2. The ensemble is stacked: Daniel Radcliffe, Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way, and Jalyn Hall round out a cast that feels as unpredictable as a Hail Mary pass.
And because NBC loves its symmetry, the series premiere leads straight into The Voice, which returns for Season 29 under the new subtitle Battle of Champions. Every coach this time is a former winner because when your format starts eating itself, you might as well do it with confetti cannons.
Sports Take Over February
While scripted TV is back in play, February on NBC is basically a parade of athletic glory. The Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games kick off February 6, with the closing ceremony set for February 22. Just when you catch your breath, NBC hits you with Super Bowl LX live from Levi’s Stadium on February 8. And yes, the NBA All-Star Game crashes the party on February 15 from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood. It’s a sports buffet, and NBC’s bringing extra plates.
Familiar Faces Return in January
NBC isn’t waiting until February to heat things up. The network’s midseason ramp-up starts early in January with the return of The Wall, The Hunting Party, and the ever-reliable Chicago and Law & Order franchises. The Peacock knows consistency is key these procedural powerhouses still draw loyal audiences week after week.

NBC’s 2026 Game Plan
NBC’s midseason strategy screams “big tent television.” The network is counting on sports events to pull in casual viewers while using new comedies and established franchises to keep them tuned in. The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is the kind of splashy, character-driven comedy that could break through, and pairing it with The Voice gives it a fighting chance.
Whether this mix of old favorites, live events, and new laughs will score ratings gold is anyone’s guess, but one thing’s clear NBC isn’t sitting this season out. It’s loading the bench, stretching the playbook, and swinging for primetime glory.
So grab the remote, warm up the snacks, and prepare for a February full of touchdowns, tearful ballads, and plenty of Tracy Morgan one-liners. NBC’s 2026 midseason lineup might just make live TV fun again.
