Port Charles delivered heartbreak, shocking political twists, moral gray areas, and one very public slap this week — and the fallout is only beginning. Maxie Chooses Spinelli The emotional centerpiece of the week belonged to Maxie. She reunited with Nathan at his gravesite in deeply moving scenes where she opened up about the grief bubble she lived in after his supposed death. She admitted she fell apart and even blamed Lulu for part of her pain. Nathan, ever devoted, told her he would always do anything for her and James, and that he was glad she had moved forward with her life. But when it came time to make a choice, Maxie chose Spinelli. Back home, she told Spinelli she wasn’t choosing him out of obligation or nostalgia. She chose him because she is in love with him. It’s the little things, she said — the steady devotion, the way he shows up for her and their children. He is her home, her person, her love. Spinelli was stunned but overwhelmed, and for once the heart won over the ghost of the past. Meanwhile, Lulu met Nathan at the Brown Dog and learned Maxie had not chosen him. Nathan admitted that if Maxie had picked him, he would have honored her wishes, but she didn’t. Now he is free to decide what he wants, and he chose Lulu. Lulu hesitated, not wanting to hurt her best friend, but the two ultimately decided to be together — while acknowledging they have to tell Maxie. Liesl, however, was not pleased. When Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green) snaps him out of his shock, Jonah’s first words are a desperate plea of innocence. Enter Sean Reagan (Mika Amonsen), who decides that family loyalty trump’s the truth, lying through his teeth to claim he saw a mystery shooter. Of course, you can’t BS a professional. Once Mae and Sarah Silver arrive and officially hand the lead to Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), the legendary detective does what he does best: he rips Sean a new one for compromising the integrity of the scene. It’s classic Reagan tough love, and honestly? Sean probably deserved it. The Left-Handed Truth: Flaherty Was Innocent The real bombshell drops back at the Silver residence. Ballistics cleared Jonah, but the win is short-lived. Upon re-watching the original footage of Ben Silver’s murder, Danny and Sean catch a detail that slipped through the cracks for years: the killer was left-handed. Ronan Flaherty? A total righty. The realization hits like a ton of bricks, Flaherty confessed to a crime he didn’t commit. The question shifted from “Who killed Flaherty?” to “Why would someone take the fall for Ben Silver’s execution?” Missing Files and Red Saint Secrets While Lena and Jonah hunt for the murder weapon, the "Silver Sisters"Mae and Sarah, dive into the archives, discovering five crucial pages missing from the original case file. Their investigation leads to a former paralegal with a heavy conscience. The truth is sickening: DNA evidence (a stray hair) proved Flaherty’s innocence years ago, but the presiding attorney suppressed it to secure a "win." It turns out Ben Silver wasn’t just a victim of random street violence; he was in a legal dogfight with a real estate developer tied to the Red Saints gang. Laughlin , the crooked attorney, had hired a hitman named Doyle to take Ben out after a court appeal didn't go his way. The Man with the Burned Hand The puzzle finally clicks when Jonah remembers a detail from a previous attack—a man with distinctive burns on his hand. A frame-by-frame analysis of the murder video confirms it: the burner is their killer. In a high-octane climax that defines the Boston Blue Season 1 energy, Sean, Danny, Lena, and Jonah corner Doyle. A foot chase through the Boston streets ends with Doyle getting the drop on Jonah. In a split-second decision that will surely haunt his character arc, Sean fires, taking Doyle down before he can pull the trigger on Jonah. Meanwhile, Sarah gets the satisfaction of slapping the cuffs on the corrupt Laughlin. If Sheriff Country  wanted to prove it can hang with the big dogs of network crime drama, “Crucible, Part 2” just slammed its badge on the table. Season 1, Episode 10 plays less like a midseason return and more like a full-blown season finale, delivering relentless suspense, emotional gut punches and a station siege that felt straight out of an action blockbuster. Picking up five minutes before the events of the midseason finale, the episode smartly rewinds to show how we got to that devastating moment: Travis being shot. That rewind is crucial. We see Travis kiss Mickey, essentially leaving the emotional ball in her court. Boone is mid-love confession to Nora. Cassidy is distracted, worrying about her missing sister. It’s quiet. Intimate. And then the Barlow camp cuts the power and signals and everything detonates. A handful of Barlows storm the station and Travis is shot while Cassidy is escorting him out. In one of the episode’s standout moments, Cassidy drags him back inside, activates lockdown, takes out one of Enoch’s men and holds the rest at bay. The Barlows, however, come prepared with saws and tools to tear through the barricade. And they do exactly that. Shout out to Cassidy because I didn't sis had this in her. Mickey attempts to reason with Enoch, urging him to call off his family. It falls on deaf ears. Inside, tensions spike. Cassidy proposes trading Enoch to get Travis to a hospital, while FBI agent Kavanaugh talks in circles. Mickey swiftly reminds him that this is her house and she’s running the show. Boone backs her up, warning that Enoch can’t be trusted, even if he’s the only reason they’re still breathing. The episode’s emotional core lands when Mickey learns Travis is getting worse. She breaks down. Boone talks her through it, grounding her just enough to get back in the fight. What follows is an epic gunfight as Mickey and Boone hold off Enoch’s people. Enoch reveals he was a combat medic and persuades Cassidy to uncuff him so he can save Travis. Against all odds, he stabilizes him. Then, of course, he shoves past the FBI agent Mary, (who has been spectacularly unhelpful all episode) and escapes. The federal presence here? Let’s just say frustration is an understatement. Boone’s crawl to the radio, with Mickey covering him, is peak edge-of-your-seat television. His brutal fight with a masked Barlow camp member could have gone either way; I was genuinely bracing for a fatal blow. Boone overpowers him, makes the call for backup and finally, the cavalry is within range. The standoff that follows: Ruth, the Barlows, Mickey, Boone, Cassidy and the FBI agents all facing off is thick with tension. Enoch ultimately talks his people down as sirens wail in the distance. Travis lives. No one else dies. And the station looks like the Battle of Hogwarts ran through Edgewater PD. Even the janitor sweeping rubble feels symbolic. “Crucible, Part 2” is the best episode of Sheriff Country  so far. Riveting, emotionally charged and paced like a finale, it proves this show knows how to escalate stakes without losing heart. 10/10. No notes. And yes, I’m thrilled Travis survived. After screening “Crucible, Part 2,” I also sat down with Christopher Gorham, the man behind Travis, to unpack that bullet-to-the-lung cliffhanger, the emotional kiss with Mickey and whether Travis truly understands what he’s risking every time he steps into the line of fire. But first I had to let him know I was losing it because I've watched him since he was on Popular. “Popular man…I’m like, oh my god, I can’t believe I’m talking to the guy from Popular!” – Gorham laughed as we geeked out about my teen TV memories. But back to the serious work, Gorham opened up about filming the intense siege sequence, what was going through Travis’ mind in those final moments before he was shot and how close he thinks Travis came to not making it out alive. “I was actually surprised at how, physically and emotionally tiring it was… When we finished that day, I had to just sit down by myself, and just… tears just… pouring out for, like… 10 minutes. Everybody left me alone because… it’s really scary,” Gorham shared, describing the physical toll of the shoot. He also reflected on Travis’ mindset after kissing Mickey: “I don’t think he knew with certainty what Mickey was gonna do. But… he was clear in his mind about what he wanted in that moment… now I’m gonna fight for you, and this is how I’m gonna do it. Okay. Now it’s in your court.” Gorham revealed that preparing for the physically grueling scenes involved “lots of work at the gym, and intermittent fasting,” and that the repeated takes made it even more intense because the body can’t distinguish “fake” trauma from real. When I asked him if he was shocked when he got that script, he wasn't, he knew the episode was coming from before the season started filming. Gorham said: “I knew I was getting shot, so that nervousness was gone. I was just excited to see how it all came together… and so thrilled, not just with the action of the siege, but also with the following episode — the aftermath of all that violence.” He also teased what’s coming next for Travis and Mickey, stating, “They have to deal with how it has changed them… and may change their outlook on things. There’s a scene in Episode 11 that’s one of my favorite scenes of the season, where all of that comes out, and choices are made, and it just affects everything.” What did you think of the showdown and are you trusting Enoch after that lifesaving move? We’re back in business! Matlock is back on this week and they’re stepping up their game. Everyone’s storylines are getting fully ramped up and I think this last half of Season 2 is about to be absolutely insane television.  We open back up with the reveal of Julian finding out that Matty and Olympia have been working together and lying to him for months. We really see Jason Ritter shine in this episode, for most of the show he’s given a good performance but really hasn’t had much time to shine. If this is any sign of where is story is going for the remainder of the season, I’m terrified to see what’s to come for Matty and Olympia if they don’t find a way to placate him. He confronts Olympia with the info that he knows about her and Matty working together. She’s shocked and tried to backtrack a little, but ultimately, she gives in and tells him more without giving Matty’s cover away. Throughout talking to Matty throughout the episode, he still does not trust her and her and Olympia barely have time to collaborate and get on the same page. I feel like if things keep ramping up, Olympia is going to have to make the decision of whether she wants to save and help Matty or if she wants to keep Julian out of prison. All of this is happening while Senior is still in the hospital recovering from his stroke. He tells Julian that he loves him and gives him his title back at the firm. This is giving him the push to stop Matty and Olympia at whatever price, he’s holding onto this hope that his dad is going to choose him and support him instead of disregarding him like he’s always done. Olympia tries to talk some sense into him but it still doesn’t work. You can see how much those words and actions meant to Julian because he refuses to give up on his dad.  On the other side of things, due to Julian’s spiral, Matty is worried that he will find out about her double life. She begins to stay at her apartment in Queens again just as things are moving along in Alfie’s storyline. His dad seems to be doing a lot better and his family is coming down for his birthday. They do drop a little crumb of information that one of the relatives is a detective…so, one can only wonder if that is going to come back into play in the future. It’s been nice to see this progression and what it looks like for Alfie and Edwin, along with Matty, of course. Matty feels like she is losing a sense of control of her situation and the distance is taking some time to get used to. One of the key questions we’ve all been wondering is what are they going to do with Billy’s character upon return? Well, as most of his S2 storyline has been thus far, it went out with more of a fizzle than a bang. Essentially he is on leave due to personal reasons, leaving things a bit open, but also, with the viewer not really wondering or caring about whether it’s permanent or not. This does play into one of our new characters that is being introduced, Gwen. She is an analyst who is taking in the value of the employees at the company as the merger comes to fruition. Sarah, following the end of the mid-season finale, is worried about this and wants to desperately reconcile with Olympia and rejoin the team. Especially with Billy being gone, she is needed now so that Matty is not the only one going to bat for them. Olympia allows her to work on this week’s case, but says that this doesn’t mean that she’s permanently back on the team. She’s trying to keep up this facade for Gwen because she doesn’t want to be let go or reduced to a lower position than the one she’s in. Then an opportunity unexpectedly falls into her lap. She confesses to Julian what she did for Senior and why that’s causing the rift between her and Olympia. She needs to get a document signed by Olympia confirming that she’s of value and still apart of their team. Julian winds up signing the paper for her and that confirms her joining his crew as he settles back into his position at Jacobson Moore.  In our final minutes, we find Julian looking for Olympia at the office and is unable to find her. She lies about where she was last night and he ends up going to her car to get more information. This leads him to Matty’s home with Alfie and Edwin. She says that everything has been about her and she’s been targeting them due to the injustice with Wellbrexa. And just in those final minutes, we also see Olympia meeting with Senior in his hospital room. She tells him that she is the one who orchestrated the coup against him and rallied the votes for the partners to exile him from the company.  Overall, another great episode of Matlock and an amazing mid-season return that is ramping up to reach a head at the end of this season. I would give the episode a 5/5 star & I can’t wait to see what’s next.

The MonsterVerse is officially back on the small screen, and honestly, it’s about time. After Season 1 left us hanging on a literal cliffside in the Hollow Earth, Apple TV+ has finally dropped the Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 premiere , titled " Cause and Effect ." If you were hoping for a quiet, contemplative character study about generational trauma... well, you still get some of that, but it’s mostly overshadowed by a giant ape who clearly hasn't had his morning coffee. Welcome to Skull Island (Try Not to Get Stepped On) Picking up seconds after the Season 1 finale, we find Cate , Keiko , and May realizing that "getting home" involves a very awkward layover at an Apex Cybernetics facility on Skull Island . For those keeping track at home, the year is 2017, and the world is a mess. The premiere wastes no time reminding us that we’re watching a high-budget Titan show. Kong makes his grand entrance almost immediately, and he isn't exactly playing the "gentle giant" card. He spends his screen time dismantling the Apex outpost like it’s a LEGO set. It’s loud, it’s expensive-looking, and it effectively sets the tone: the leash is off, and the Titans are taking center stage. Keiko’s Modern Life (and Death) The emotional anchor of the episode remains Keiko Randa . Mari Yamamoto continues to carry the show’s heart as she navigates a world that moved on 60 years without her. Watching her realize that her small, scientific pursuit of knowledge has been weaponized into a global, bureaucratic monster called Monarch is the kind of tasty drama we actually tune in for. Meanwhile, back in 1957, we get a flashback to Chile . Young Bill Randa , Lee Shaw , and Keiko are hunting a "river monster" that turns out to be more of a "village-eating nightmare." This B-plot does a great job of introducing Titan X , a tentacled horror that bridges the gap between the past and the modern-day disaster. The Great Rescue and a Shocking Exit In a move that surprises absolutely no one who knows how TV works, the team launches a rogue mission to save Lee Shaw from Axis Mundi. Yes, Kurt Russell is back, and the show is instantly 40% more charismatic because of it. However, the "Legacy" comes with a price. As the portal reopens to bring Shaw back, it lets out more than just a legendary actor. Titan X hitches a ride to the surface and immediately chooses violence. In the ensuing chaos on a Monarch tanker, Natalia Verdugo , the woman who spent all of Season 1 being "Management" gets swiped by a Titan tail. It’s a brutal, sudden exit that reminds us that in this universe, being the boss doesn't make you immune to being squashed. The Verdict The Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 premiere is a massive leap forward. It balances the "monster" and the "human" much better than the inaugural season, largely because it stops pretending we aren't here for the kaiju. Period drama just got a pulse boost. Paul Wesley is officially joining The Buccaneers for Season 3, and suddenly the corsets feel tighter and the stakes feel higher. Best known for brooding his way through supernatural romance on The Vampire Diaries  and boldly going where few have gone before on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds , Wesley is trading fangs and starships for 1870s scandal. Honestly? It tracks. Apple TV confirmed that Wesley will play Frank, described as a “mysterious but charming stranger” who enters Nan and Mrs. St. George’s world and promptly turns it upside down. If you’ve been watching The Buccaneers , you know that world is already hanging by a thread socially, romantically, and politically. Inspired by the unfinished final novel from Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edith Wharton, the series follows a group of spirited American women who storm London high society with more ambition than patience. Season 1 delivered culture-clash fireworks. Season 2 sharpened the emotional blades with heartbreak, motherhood, jealousy, and legal warfare. Season 3 promises unity and retaliation. And now there’s Frank. The official tease paints him as enigmatic, but let’s be honest: when Paul Wesley shows up in a drama, he’s rarely just “a nice guy passing through.” Whether Frank is romantic temptation, strategic ally, or social disruptor remains under wraps. What’s clear is that his arrival coincides with a looming shakeup at Tintagel, where a new Duke threatens to destabilize everything the Buccaneers have fought to build. It’s a smart bit of casting. Wesley brings built-in fandom and a knack for playing layered men who oscillate between vulnerability and danger. That energy fits seamlessly into a series that thrives on emotional volatility beneath polished exteriors. The show has always balanced lavish period aesthetics with modern sensibilities, and Wesley’s presence only amplifies that tension. Creatively, the series remains in strong hands. The first two seasons of The Buccaneers  are already streaming, giving fans ample time to speculate about Frank’s true motives. Will he be savior, saboteur, or something far more complicated? If the series has proven anything, it’s that polite society is merely a façade and disruption is inevitable. One thing is certain: Tintagel isn’t ready. And frankly, neither are we.

The return of Elsbeth is now. Welcome Back! Biohacking Obsession This episode opens with Archer Bryant waking at 4 a.m. beginning his day with his usual routine. Routine is the way to go, choices cause problems. Perfect always wins. He appears to be obsessed with his health. His doctor comes to his house and they review his lab numbers and they show he’s got the body of a teenager except for the ALP’s still too high. That is what Archer focuses immediately on, not the fact he has the body of a teenager, and the cellular age of 32.4 years. He also has a machine that provides his numbers directly to the doctor. Archer asks how to combat that, and his doctor says sometimes you can’t due to the liver and genetics.   The doorbell rings and Archer answers it. There is a young guy, Tyler, there who asks if he could get some ice for a bee sting he got when clearing some brush with the ground’s crew. Archer lets him in and asks him questions about his family, where he’s from. Tyler’s not finding this odd, and gives the information freely, until Archer asks him what his blood type is. Next thing you know, they are living together, and Tyler helps Archer improve his bio numbers. Tyler’s numbers are perfect. Months later, Tyler tells Archer he needs to quit, and wants to move on. He is 22 years old and wants to try new things. Archer tries to change his mind. He says if he continues with their program Tyler could be the first man to live forever. Tyler doesn’t want to live forever the way they are currently living. He’s leaving.  Bio Monitoring Missed Something Archer switches their health monitoring rings. Later, that night, he holds his breath until the readings show he’s having a heart attack just as the software begins updating. He enters Tyler’s room and injects him with something, then switches the rings again. Archer’s ring’s software is updated with no problem. Tyler’s ring registers an error during the software update. Archer returns to bed as sirens from an ambulance approaches.  Rivers’ Got Dumped A year later, At the NYPD, Captain Wagner enters the office. He stops Detective Rivers in the hall, and asks about his daughter, Julia. She hasn’t been keeping their lunch dates, and has cancelled their last three dates. Wagner thinks his daughter is avoiding him. Detective Rivers tells Captain Wagner they broke up, and Julia’s probably avoiding him. Wagner gives him some words of consolation, but is happy to learn Julia finally broke up with him. Rivers is still having a hard time dealing with the breakup.  The Case of a Murdered Organ Donor  Elsbeth talks to a guy, Cord, who’s there complaining of cellular memory issues. She asks Wagner if he’s ever heard of that.  It’s a phenomenon where the organ transplant recipient takes on the characteristics of their donor. Like food cravings, phobias and in some cases memory. Wagner finds that really far out. He says anything’s possible. Cord tells Elsbeth about his heart transplant a year ago. He thinks his donor was murdered, and has been having violent, horrible nightmares. Wagner finds this strange. Elsbeth says the donor died young, and Cord thinks it might be a case of organ trafficking.  Elsbeth decided to take his case, and attended an organ transplant gathering of recipients who benefited from Tyler Hollis’ organs. They all received some needed organs from Tyler’s body. The lady leading the group says she found Cord’s theory unbelievable, but she has been having nightmares, too. Hers are about vampires, and not the kissing kind. Cord believes he owes it to Tyler to find out what really happened to him. Elsbeth is out on a date with Alec Bloom. He thought she didn’t want to see him again, after she never contacted him for some time. Elsbeth wanted to ask Alec about the guy in her son Teddy’s article who helped him when he was younger. She says that the benefactor suffered from dementia. He wouldn't recognize Alec anywhere. Alec says he’s a people pleaser and it gets him in trouble sometimes. He does confirm there was a “Pete” that helped him when he was younger.  Biohacking Investigation  Officer Nikki Norwood found information on Tyler Hollis’ death. He died of a stroke and it was listed as natural causes. He worked for a longevity expert. It’s a group of people who believe they could extend their lives by bio hacking.  Elsbeth goes to see Archer Bryant, an expert in studying human longevity. Elsbeth asked him that if Tyler was following the same training protocols as him, wasn’t it strange he died so young.  Archer tells her how the ring contacted the emergency personnel. It monitors 30 biometrics and registered Tyler having a stroke. Elsbeth’s fascinated by what the ring can do. She explores what’s happening in Archer’s kitchen, and he offers her a smoothie with flavonoids. She turns him down. She recognizes one of the pills, calcinolate, one given to transplant recipients. Archer admits he had a partial liver transplant, from his son Atlas. This interests Elsbeth because it’s the second time she’s heard that drug name. Archer says his son changed everything for them. Elsbeth’s investigation of Atlas reveals something totally different from Archer’s recount. Atlas is not happy with his father’s mid-life crisis health obsession. He said his quack doctor just fed into his obsession. He even gave some of his blood. Elsbeth and Officer Nikki present their preliminary findings on the biohacking case to Captain Wagner. He says he needs facts and concrete evidence not gut findings. They find that Archer made a six figure profit a year ago, and Officer Nikki says it wasn’t on his health products. Tyler also bought an AirStream trailer before he died. Captain Wagner says they still need more evidence.  Julia and Captain Wagner meet for lunch. She tells him she broke up with Rivers because of him. Julia says Detective Rivers is desperate for his attention. She says it was wrong for her to date one of his officers.  Elsbeth and Detective Rivers go talk to Tyler’s girlfriend, Ana, in the AirStream she and Tyler bought. She tells them Tyler always says the stress of his job. She said Tyler was going to quit and they were going to travel. She takes her findings to Captain Wagner. Wagner asks Rivers for his thoughts. Elsbeth says there are ways to cause someone’s death with drugs. Wagner suggests she work with the medical examiner to get a list of drugs, and that could be the evidence she needs. Archer comes in and is in awe. Elsbeth asks Archer if organs carry nightmares. They want to study Elsbeth’s youthfulness and her family’s history of this phenomenon.  Teddy gets removed from his Alec Bloom investigation and story by his editor. Marissa, Alec Bloom’s political campaign manager called and let him know she was not happy about the article. His editor says there is also a conflict with his mother dating Alec Bloom. Case Conclusion Reached Elsbeth joins Archer’s longevity group and talks to his assistant Sven. They both have questions about the clause in their contracts. It states if they die in Archer’s employ, all their body parts go to Archer’s nonprofit. Archer cancel’s Elsbeth as a longevity study participant and he also fires Sven. Elsbeth creates havoc, and continues to irritate Archer using her investigative skills and powers of observation.  She even caused him to begin having nightmares.   How does Elsbeth, Detective Rivers and Officer Nikki solve this case? The victim is dead and all his body organs were donated.  Do they know what caused Tyler’s death?Do they have enough evidence to make their case? What keeps Elsbeth youthful? Later, Cord comes to thank Elsbeth for all she’s done. He meets Ana, Tyler’s girlfriend. She thanks him for pursuing the truth.  How does Elsbeth surprise Teddy? Looking forward to seeing more of Teddy and his investigative journalistic skills unveiled. Elsbeth came back with an extraordinary case about a murder victim murdered a year ago. The really mind-boggling part is the victim’s organs were harvested and donated for profit. What a shocking and informative episode. Who knew biohacking was also a kind of science that could be used to such a terrible extreme. It was so wonderful to have Elsbeth back with Detective Rivers and Officer Nikki. Elsbeth also had her trademark colorful attire and bags. Great to have Captain Wagner back and his excellent skills at piecing everything together for a prosecutable case. We also got to see his personal side and his family. Liked how he encouraged Detective Rivers and brought out something more in him as well. Hamish Linklater played the obsessed biohacker so well, and made it believable. The writing, acting and all the Elsbeth Team that made this a remarkable show was missed. I enjoyed this episode and gave it 5 Stars out of 5 .
