Yvette Nicole Brown and Husband Anthony Davis Join ‘Beyond the Gates’

Fairmont Crest is getting two new visitors, and this time, they're bringing some real-life chemistry to Beyond the Gates. Actress and comedian Yvette Nicole Brown is joining the CBS daytime drama alongside her husband, Anthony Davis, and the pair will be playing a married couple on screen.
The two are set to make their guest appearances on Friday, November 13, as the show continues expanding the family of Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson). With Shanice preparing for her wedding to Dr. Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson), the timing of these new arrivals could make things even more interesting.
Meet Shanice's New Family Members
Brown will portray Temeka, Shanice's cousin, while Davis takes on the role of Temeka's husband, Tony. The casting brings another branch of Shanice's family into the picture after fans were previously introduced to her brothers, Cedric and Lamont, and her aunt Monica.
Of course, anyone who has been keeping up with Beyond the Gates knows that Shanice's relationship with Ted hasn't exactly received a warm welcome from everyone in her family. Her brothers have already made their feelings about the doctor known, which raises an interesting question about whether Temeka and Tony will embrace the upcoming marriage or add to the family tension.
For Brown, the guest appearance marks another visit to the world of daytime television. Best known for her role as Shirley Bennett on Community, the actress has also appeared on The Young and the Restless and General Hospital. Bringing her real-life husband along for this appearance makes the casting even more fun.
Will Shanice's Wedding Plans Get Complicated?
Shanice and Ted have been working toward their future together, but family approval hasn't come easily. With their Christmas wedding approaching, the arrival of more relatives could either help smooth things over or give Ted a few more people to win over.
There has been no confirmation that Temeka and Tony will create trouble for the couple, and details about their storyline remain limited. Still, Beyond the Gates has never shied away from family disagreements, complicated relationships, or unexpected drama, so their visit should be worth watching.
Brown and Davis will make their guest appearances on Friday, November 13, on CBS. Fans will have to tune in to see how Shanice welcomes her cousin and whether Ted manages to make a good impression on the newest members of the family.
