What to Watch Tuesday, September 15: Dancing With the Stars, R.J. Decker & The Drop

Tuesday is the night fall television starts turning the lights back on. Dancing with the Stars launches Season 35 with the first half of a two-night premiere, R.J. Decker returns for Season 2 immediately afterward, and The Drop: A Snowfall Saga settles into its regular Tuesday slot after last week's premiere.
And apparently spooky season has arrived whether the weather agrees or not. HGTV premieres A Very Haunted Renovation, which puts six designers inside an allegedly haunted Ohio mansion for an entire month because renovating a Victorian house apparently wasn't stressful enough on its own. BritBox also launches its contemporary take on Agatha Christie's Tommy and Tuppence, Netflix has a new Jo Koy special, and FOX wraps Kitchen Nightmares with a two-hour finale.
TV Cave Top Pick: Dancing With the Stars Is Back
The ballroom officially reopens tonight.
Dancing with the Stars Season 35 premieres live at 8 PM ET on ABC and Disney+, kicking off a special two-night event that continues Wednesday at the same time. Episodes will stream the following day on Hulu.
Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough are back as co-hosts, while Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli return to the judges' table. ABC revealed this year's 16 celebrity-pro pairings earlier this month, and tonight is our first chance to find out which contestants came prepared and which ones spent rehearsal discovering that watching ballroom dancing and actually doing it are two completely different activities.
The two-night launch is unusual for DWTS. Tonight introduces the cast and gets everyone onto the ballroom floor before ABC returns with another two-hour installment Wednesday at 8 PM. After that, the show settles into its regular Tuesday schedule.
That's enough to make Dancing with the Stars our TV Cave Top Pick. Sixteen celebrities are about to discover that sequins do not make the cha-cha easier, and television is better for it.
