What to Watch Tuesday, October 13: ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ ‘NCIS’ & ‘DOC’ Lead Tonight's Lineup

Tuesday television is bringing a little bit of everything, from ballroom dancing and murder investigations to medical emergencies and a boxing legend's complicated life story. Dancing with the Stars is going all out with its first-ever Super Bowl Night, CBS is keeping its three-hour NCIS lineup moving, and FOX has new episodes of Best Medicine and DOC.
Streaming isn't sitting this one out, either. Netflix premieres a four-part documentary about Mike Tyson, Michael Che returns with a new stand-up special, and BritBox welcomes Ludwig back for Season 2. Hulu also has another episode of Reasonable Doubt, where Jax Stewart's problems are far from over. Between the competition shows, crime dramas and new streaming releases, Tuesday has enough television to keep viewers busy well into the week.
TV Cave Top Pick: Dancing with the Stars
Our Top Pick goes to Dancing with the Stars, airing at 8 PM ET on ABC and Disney+.
Season 35 continues with its first-ever Super Bowl Night, bringing some of the biggest halftime-show hits into the ballroom. The remaining 11 couples will perform routines inspired by memorable Super Bowl performances, with ESPN and ABC football commentator Joe Buck joining Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli as a guest judge.
The evening will also feature appearances from former NFL players and Dancing with the Stars alumni Donald Driver, Emmitt Smith, DeMarcus Ware and Danny Amendola.
Expect plenty of familiar music, elaborate costumes and performances set to songs associated with artists including Rihanna, Shakira, Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars and Usher. After last week's surprising elimination, the remaining celebrities have another opportunity to prove they deserve to stay in the competition.
And with a football commentator joining the judging panel, we're particularly curious to see how Joe Buck handles ballroom technique. Calling a touchdown is one thing. Judging a samba is an entirely different assignment.

‘NCIS’ Takes Over CBS Tuesday Nights
CBS continues its three-hour NCIS lineup tonight, beginning with the flagship series at 8 PM. In “Clean Slate,” the team investigates a murder connected to a neighborhood dinner party. Unfortunately, getting answers becomes considerably more complicated when investigators discover that the guests aren't being entirely forthcoming about what happened.
At 9 PM, NCIS: New York continues its freshman season with “Family Business.” LL Cool J returns as Sam Hanna as the team investigates a jewelry store robbery involving military-grade explosives. When the jeweler's son is killed, the investigation becomes even more personal.
The evening concludes with NCIS: Origins at 10 PM. In “My Own Worst Enemy,” Gibbs and the team come together to help an old friend accused of murdering a bowling rival. Three investigations, three different teams and plenty of suspects who probably should have asked for an attorney before opening their mouths. CBS has officially made Tuesdays a very busy night for the NCIS universe.
‘DOC’ Brings More Hospital Drama to FOX
FOX continues its Tuesday lineup with Best Medicine at 8 PM, followed by DOC at 9 PM.
In tonight's Best Medicine, titled “No Place Like Om,” Martin attempts to leave Port Wenn for a weekend in Boston with Eden. Unfortunately, his plans are interrupted when three patients who recently attended the same meditation retreat begin exhibiting unusual behavior. Meanwhile, DOC continues Season 3 with “Great Expectations,” and Amy has another complicated medical situation on her hands.
Amy and Ben clash over the treatment of a cancer patient whose expectations create a difficult ethical dilemma. Elsewhere, Jake discovers that a senior surgeon has made a serious surgical mistake, forcing him to decide whether speaking up is worth jeopardizing his new position in cardiology.
Sonya also finds herself dealing with significant personal news. Between the medical cases and the increasingly complicated relationships at Westside Hospital, nobody seems particularly close to having an easy week.
‘The Voice’ Continues Its Battle Rounds
The competition continues on NBC as The Voice airs the second part of its Battle Rounds at 8 PM. Coaches Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah and Riley Green are putting their teams through another round of head-to-head performances.
With superstar advisers helping contestants prepare, the pressure is on to deliver performances strong enough to survive the next elimination. The Battles are always an interesting stage of the competition because even a fantastic performance doesn't guarantee a contestant will advance. Sometimes the decision comes down to which artist a coach believes has the greatest potential moving forward.
And after spending weeks convincing singers to join their teams, the coaches now have to start sending some of them home. That's one way to make Tuesday night uncomfortable.
Netflix Premieres ‘TYSON’ and a New Michael Che Special
Netflix has several notable additions today, beginning with TYSON, a four-part documentary examining the life and career of former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. The series explores Tyson's extraordinary rise through professional boxing, his public controversies and the complicated legacy of one of the sport's most recognizable figures.
Netflix also premieres Michael Che: Shot in Minnesota, the comedian's third stand-up special for the streamer. Filmed at Minneapolis music venue First Avenue, the special features Che tackling relationships, politics, social issues and the kind of uncomfortable observations that have become a signature part of his comedy.
For viewers in the mood for something darker, The Trap follows Lisa Konrad, an author who has spent years isolating herself following her sister's murder. When she believes she recognizes the killer during a television appearance, she begins constructing a dangerous plan to expose the truth. The streamer also adds Season 6 of Solar Opposites and releases another batch of Love Village episodes.
‘Ludwig’ Returns While ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Continues
BritBox premieres Season 2 of Ludwig, bringing David Mitchell back as John Taylor, the brilliant puzzle enthusiast whose unusual approach to investigations has made him surprisingly effective at solving murders.
John is now officially working as a police consultant, but the mystery surrounding his missing twin brother remains unresolved. While his professional responsibilities continue to grow, his determination to find James threatens to create new complications. Over on Hulu, Reasonable Doubt continues Season 4 with “Imaginary Players.”
Jax Stewart and her colleagues are still dealing with the consequences of the violent attack that shook their lives and their law firm. With professional pressures mounting and personal relationships under strain, the team faces another difficult chapter. The legal drama remains one of Hulu's most compelling offerings, especially when Jax's determination to protect her clients comes into conflict with the problems waiting for her outside the courtroom.
Baseball and UFC Bring More Live Competition
Sports fans have several options today, including Game 2 of the American League Championship Series between the Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays at 8 PM ET on TBS.
The Guardians enter the game with a 1-0 series lead, giving Tampa Bay an opportunity to even things up before the series moves to Cleveland. Paramount+ also streams the Season 10 finale of Dana White's Contender Series at 7 PM. The final group of fighters will attempt to impress UFC decision-makers and earn contracts, bringing another season of high-stakes competition to a close.
Tuesday's television lineup has something for nearly everyone. Dancing with the Stars gets our Top Pick, but NCIS, DOC, Ludwig and Netflix's new releases make this a particularly strong night for viewers who prefer scripted drama, comedy or documentaries.
