Well, look who's headed to the Super Bowl! ABC has officially selected High Potential to air a special episode immediately following Super Bowl LXI on February 14, 2027. Morgan Gillory may not be stepping onto the football field, but she's about to take over one of the biggest nights on television. And knowing Morgan, she'll probably find a way to solve a murder before everyone finishes celebrating the winning touchdown.

The Kaitlin Olson-led drama has quickly become one of ABC's biggest success stories, so the network's decision makes perfect sense. The coveted post-Super Bowl time slot is usually reserved for shows that networks want to introduce to an enormous audience, and High Potential already has the ratings to back up the investment.

ABC Is Betting Big on High Potential

And those ratings are nothing to sneeze at. High Potential finished the 2025–2026 broadcast season as the No. 1 entertainment series among adults ages 18–49, earning a 3.35 multiplatform rating across 35 days of viewing. The crime drama also ranked third among total viewers, averaging an impressive 16.01 million.

Those numbers are especially encouraging at a time when broadcast networks are constantly fighting to keep audiences coming back. Between Morgan's unconventional crime-solving methods, her hilarious ability to frustrate Detective Adam Karadec, and the mysteries surrounding her personal life, the series has given viewers plenty of reasons to stick around.

When Does High Potential Season 3 Return?

ABC also confirmed that High Potential will return for Season 3 in early 2027, although the network hasn't revealed an exact premiere date. New episodes will air Tuesdays on ABC and stream the following day on Hulu, while the February 14 special will air immediately after the Super Bowl on ABC and Disney+.

The network hasn't revealed what case Morgan and the team will tackle during the special episode, but we'd love to see the writers take advantage of the occasion. A particularly complicated mystery, a few unexpected twists, and Morgan driving Karadec absolutely crazy? Sounds like a pretty entertaining way to close out Super Bowl Sunday.

For a series that began with a cleaning lady rearranging evidence because she couldn't resist solving a crime, High Potential has certainly come a long way. Now ABC is handing Morgan Gillory one of television's biggest stages, and something tells us she's going to make the most of it.

High Potential returns for Season 3 in early 2027 on ABC, with episodes streaming the following day on Hulu, and a special episode airing immediately after Super Bowl LXI on February 14.
