🏆 TV Cave Top Pick: The 78th Emmy Awards

Tonight belongs to the Emmys. The 78th Emmy Awards air live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, celebrating another year of television while handing out trophies in some races that could make for an interesting night.
The Pitt heads into the ceremony with 25 nominations, while the final season of Hacks follows closely behind with 24. Widow’s Bay and Pluribus are also among the major contenders, giving viewers plenty to watch as the winners start rolling in.
Of course, part of the fun of Emmy night is seeing where voters surprise us. There are always a few wins that seem inevitable, a couple that leave us cheering and at least one category that has everyone asking, “Really?”
For The TV Cave, there was never much competition for today’s Top Pick. We’ll be watching the winners, speeches and everything else that gets people talking.
Monday Night Football Gives the Emmys Some Competition

Not everyone will be watching Hollywood hand out trophies tonight. Monday Night Football has a big Week 1 matchup as the
Denver Broncos visit the Kansas City Chiefs.
That makes for a pretty brutal remote-control battle if you have both football and TV fans in the house. Luckily, this is 2026. We have multiple screens for a reason.
Halloween Baking Championship Is Back

We’re still technically in summer, but Food Network has decided that’s close enough to Halloween.
Halloween Baking Championship returns for Season 12 tonight, bringing another group of bakers into the kitchen for creepy creations, elaborate desserts and challenges designed for anyone already counting down the days until October 31.
It’s also probably the coziest alternative tonight if neither football nor an awards show sounds appealing.
Ghosts Australia Comes to Paramount+

The Ghosts franchise keeps expanding. Season 1 of Ghosts Australia makes its U.S. debut on Paramount+ today, giving American viewers another version of the supernatural comedy.
The Australian adaptation follows the familiar setup of very different spirits forced to coexist under one roof alongside the living. Fans of the U.S. and original U.K. versions now have another haunted house to visit.
Daytime TV Starts a New Season
Monday is also a surprisingly busy day for syndicated television. Jeopardy! returns for Season 43, Wheel of Fortune begins Season 44, and The Drew Barrymore Show launches Season 7. Entertainment Tonight is also back for another season, while The Perfect Line returns for Season 2.
There’s a newcomer in the mix as well. Adam’s Law, starring former prosecutor and judge Adam Levy and executive produced by his mother, Judge Judy Sheindlin, makes its syndicated debut today.
Because these programs air at different times depending on the market, viewers should check their local listings.
