What to Watch Friday, October 23: ‘Lupin,’ ‘Happy’s Place’ & ‘Newlyweds’ Lead Tonight’s Lineup

Friday television is bringing clever criminals, familiar faces, fresh romances and a little baseball history. Netflix welcomes Omar Sy back for Lupin Part 4, NBC launches its Friday comedy lineup with Happy's Place and Newlyweds, and FOX kicks off the 2026 World Series.
Meanwhile, CBS continues its Edgewater drama lineup, Dateline NBC has another investigation, and several streaming platforms are offering new episodes and premieres. Whether you're in the mood for a mystery, a sitcom or a sporting event, Friday has plenty to offer.
TV Cave Top Pick: Lupin Part 4
Our Top Pick is Lupin Part 4, now streaming on Netflix. Omar Sy returns as Assane Diop, the charming gentleman thief whose talent for elaborate schemes has gotten him into plenty of trouble. Four years after the events of Part 3, Assane remains behind bars, determined to put his criminal life behind him and keep a promise to his son.
Of course, retiring from a life of deception isn't quite as simple when you've spent years outsmarting practically everyone around you. The new installment explores whether Assane can truly leave his past behind, and we're willing to bet his plans won't unfold without a few complications.

‘Happy’s Place’ Returns and ‘Newlyweds’ Makes Its Debut
NBC has a double dose of comedy tonight, beginning with Happy's Place at 8 PM. Reba McEntire returns as Bobbie, who attempts to give Isabella more independence by surprising her with an office upstairs. Meanwhile, Steve and Takoda have opinions about Bobbie and Emmett's relationship, because apparently nobody at this tavern has ever heard of minding their business.
At 8:30 PM, Téa Leoni and Tim Daly reunite for Newlyweds, a new romantic comedy following two very different people who fall in love and marry after a whirlwind courtship. Jeanie is spontaneous, James is considerably more reserved, and their contrasting personalities promise plenty of adjustments as they attempt to build a life together.
CBS Dramas and the World Series Round Out Friday
CBS continues its Friday lineup with Sheriff Country, Fire Country and Boston Blue. At 8 PM, Sheriff Country returns with “Ulysses,” giving Mickey Fox another case to handle in Edgewater. Fans of the franchise can settle in for three consecutive hours of drama, with Fire Country following at 9 PM and Boston Blue closing the evening at 10 PM.
Episodes
For sports fans, the Tampa Bay Rays visit the Milwaukee Brewers for Game 1 of the World Series. Neither team has won a championship, meaning this series will produce a first-time winner. With both franchises chasing history, tonight's opener should give baseball fans plenty to talk about.
Friday offers a little something for everyone, but Lupin takes our Top Pick thanks to Omar Sy's long-awaited return. NBC's new comedy pairing and the World Series aren't far behind, making this a pretty solid way to kick off the weekend.
