The story that inspired one of Hollywood's most infamous films is heading back into the spotlight.

Paramount+ has released the official trailer for The Real Wolf of Wall Street, a new three-part documentary event that promises to take fans beyond the Hollywood version of Jordan Belfort's rise and fall. The series is set to premiere Tuesday, July 14, exclusively on Paramount+, with all three episodes available to stream at launch.

While many audiences are familiar with Belfort through the hit 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street, the upcoming documentary aims to uncover the real story behind the man, his controversial brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont, and the people affected by his actions.

According to Paramount+, The Real Wolf of Wall Street features never-before-seen footage, thousands of internal FBI documents, archival interviews, and firsthand accounts from former members of Belfort's inner circle. The documentary will also include insights from Belfort's former wife, Nadine, whose perspective sheds light on the personal consequences of the lifestyle that became synonymous with Wall Street excess during the 1990s.

The newly released trailer teases an in-depth look at Belfort's meteoric rise to wealth and influence, as well as the dramatic downfall that followed. The series appears poised to examine not only the financial crimes that made headlines but also the lasting impact left on employees, investors, and family members caught in the fallout.

Interest in true-crime documentaries and real-life scandals continues to grow, making The Real Wolf of Wall Street one of Paramount+'s more intriguing nonfiction offerings this summer. For fans who have long been fascinated by the larger-than-life story portrayed on the big screen, the documentary promises a closer look at what really happened behind the headlines.

The Real Wolf of Wall Street is produced by See It Now Studios, Maxine Productions, a division of Sony Pictures Television, and Bloomberg. Executive producers include Mary Robertson, Jesse Sweet, and Anneka Jones for Maxine Productions; Jason Leopold for Bloomberg; and Cassie Thornton, Amy Palmer, Michael Bloom, Susan Zirinsky, and Terence Wrong. Jesse Sweet also serves as showrunner.

The three-part documentary event premieres July 14 on Paramount+, with all episodes available to stream on day one.
