Tuesday television is giving viewers a little bit of everything, from stand up comedy and murder mysteries to reality TV feuds and a brand new cocktail competition. Whether you are settling in for primetime or looking for something new to stream, August 18 has plenty worth adding to the watchlist.
Netflix starts the day with Kelsey Cook: Happy Hour, while BritBox wraps up Season 2 of Return to Paradise with a wedding that goes very wrong. Paramount+ also has a new episode of Ruthless, where the fight against the Rakudushi compound inches closer to a major turning point.
Once primetime arrives, America’s Got Talent brings another round of performers to NBC, Gordon Ramsay tries to save another struggling restaurant on Kitchen Nightmares, and The Real Housewives of London delivers two episodes of arguments, breakdowns and at least one dramatic exit. You know, just another perfectly normal evening in the Housewives universe.
Later, BET serves up comedy with Ms. Pat Settles It and ComicView, while FOX has a new Beat Shazam. The night closes with Darren Criss joining Jimmy Fallon on Password, plus the series premiere of E!’s Cocktail Wars, hosted by *NSYNC favorites Lance Bass and Joey Fatone.

THE TV CAVE TOP PICKS FOR AUGUST 18
If you are looking for a big primetime competition, America’s Got Talent remains one of the easiest Tuesday night choices. Tonight’s lineup ranges from singers and musicians to tumblers, lasers and a choir, so there is no telling which act will have everyone talking by the end of the night.
For something a little messier, The Real Housewives of London is making a strong case for your attention with two episodes and multiple friendships apparently hanging by a thread. Amanda and Juliet are going at it, Karen is emotional and Panthea storms out. Housewives fans know that when somebody leaves the room dramatically, the night is probably doing its job.
The biggest curiosity of the night, however, might be Cocktail Wars. Lance Bass and Joey Fatone hosting a mixology competition feels like the kind of television concept somebody came up with after saying, “Just hear me out.” Honestly, we are listening. Three bartenders battling over cocktails while two members of *NSYNC oversee the proceedings could either become a surprisingly fun new reality competition or simply make viewers thirsty.
And if you prefer to start watching before primetime, the Return to Paradise Season 2 finale has murder crashing a wedding. Nothing ruins the seating chart quite like somebody getting poisoned.
From reality TV and game shows to comedy, streaming dramas and a brand new competition series, Tuesday has enough options to keep the remote busy. The hardest decision may be figuring out whether you want murder mysteries, Housewives arguments or Joey Fatone judging cocktails. Television really does contain multitudes.
