Fans of The Rainmaker looking to catch up with Rudy Baylor and company on Peacock might be in for a surprise. The USA Network legal drama returned for its second season on Friday, October 16, but the new episodes are nowhere to be found on the streaming service that carried the first season.

If you've been refreshing Peacock hoping to find the Season 2 premiere, you're not missing anything. The show's streaming availability has changed, and USA Network's new corporate ownership may help explain why. Fortunately, there are still several ways to watch the latest episodes, including options for fans who have already ditched traditional cable.

Where Can You Watch 'The Rainmaker' Season 2?

The Rainmaker Season 2 airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network, beginning October 16, 2026. New episodes can be watched live through participating television providers or streaming services that carry the network.

Here are the current viewing options:

  • USA Network: Watch new episodes Friday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT with an eligible television subscription.

  • USA Network website and app: Watch available episodes on demand using a participating TV provider login.

  • YouTube TV: Stream USA Network live or record episodes with the service's DVR feature.

  • Hulu + Live TV: Watch episodes live through the USA Network channel, with on-demand access subject to availability.

  • DIRECTV: Watch USA Network through an eligible television or streaming package.

  • Sling TV: Access USA Network through a qualifying channel package.

  • Apple TV Store: Purchase available Season 2 episodes or the digital season separately.

  • Amazon Prime Video: Fans can purchase The Rainmaker Season 2 for $19.99 in HD or buy individual episodes for $2.99 each. The season pass includes episodes already released and upcoming installments as they become available, making it an option for anyone who wants to follow the series without a traditional cable or live-TV subscription.

The second season consists of ten episodes, with new installments scheduled weekly.

Why Isn't 'The Rainmaker' Season 2 on Peacock?

Here's where things get interesting. When The Rainmaker premiered in August 2025, USA Network was still operating within the NBCUniversal family, and Peacock served as one of the show's streaming homes. The first two episodes arrived on Peacock the day after their USA Network premieres, while subsequent installments followed on a delayed schedule.

But USA Network's ownership has since changed. In January 2026, Comcast completed the spinoff of several cable networks into Versant Media Group, a newly independent, publicly traded company. Along with USA Network, the separation included channels such as SYFY, E!, CNBC and Oxygen.

That means USA Network and Peacock no longer operate under the same corporate ownership. Peacock remains part of NBCUniversal, while USA Network now belongs to Versant. The separation provides important context for the show's different streaming arrangements, although neither Versant nor Peacock has publicly identified it as the reason Season 2 isn't available on the platform. For now, Peacock continues to carry the first season, but no official streaming premiere date has been announced for Season 2.

Where Can You Stream 'The Rainmaker' Season 1?

If you're just discovering The Rainmaker, or need a refresher before diving into Season 2, the entire ten-episode first season remains available through several services.

  • Peacock: All ten episodes are available with an eligible subscription.

  • Amazon Prime Video: Season 1 is available to stream with a qualifying Prime subscription, with digital purchase options also offered.

  • Fandango at Home: The first season is available to watch free with ads, as well as through digital purchase options.

  • USA Network: Episodes may be available through the network's on-demand platform with an eligible TV provider.

  • Apple TV Store: Purchase the first season or individual episodes digitally.

Season 1 follows newly minted attorney Rudy Baylor (Milo Callaghan) as he takes on powerful legal opponents, including Leo Drummond (John Slattery). Alongside Jocelyn "Bruiser" Stone (Lana Parrilla) and Deck Shifflet (P.J. Byrne), Rudy becomes entangled in a case that exposes dangerous secrets and tests his determination to practice law on his own terms.

Will 'The Rainmaker' Season 2 Eventually Come to Peacock?

That's the big unanswered question. Although the first season remains available on Peacock, there has been no official announcement confirming whether or when Season 2 will join it. The fact that Peacock still carries the earlier episodes doesn't guarantee that it has secured the same streaming rights to the new season.

Streaming rights can change between seasons, particularly when networks change ownership or distribution agreements are renegotiated. Fans shouldn't assume that Season 2 will follow the same release schedule as the first. For now, the most reliable way to follow Rudy, Bruiser and Deck's latest legal battles is through USA Network or a television streaming service that carries the channel.

The Rainmaker airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network. Season 1 remains available on Peacock and other select streaming platforms.
