After nearly a decade of laughs, neighborly squabbles, and heartfelt moments, the end is finally in sight for The Neighborhood. To mark the milestone, CBS is giving fans a special sendoff with The Neighborhood: A Farewell Special, a one-hour celebration airing Monday, April 6 (8:00–9:00 PM ET/PT) and streaming on Paramount+.
The special, produced by Entertainment Tonight, promises a nostalgic look back at the beloved sitcom’s run as it heads toward its series finale on May 11. Hosted by Kevin Frazier, the event was filmed on the show’s soundstages and offers a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse at the making and ending of one of CBS’ most dependable comedy hits.
For eight seasons and 156 episodes, The Neighborhood has built a reputation for blending sharp comedy with thoughtful storytelling about friendship, family, and what happens when very different neighbors learn to coexist. That balance helped the series carve out a loyal audience and secure its place in the network’s long-running sitcom lineup.
The farewell special dives deep into that journey, featuring brand-new interviews with the cast as they reflect on the early days of the series and how the show evolved over the years. Expect plenty of nostalgia as the actors revisit favorite memories, on-set moments, and the relationships that formed while bringing the Butlers and Johnsons to life on screen.
Longtime fans will also get a treat from the Entertainment Tonight archives. The special includes never-before-seen footage and interviews from the ET Vault, revisiting iconic scenes and milestone moments from throughout the show’s run. It’s the kind of throwback that should hit longtime viewers right in the sitcom-loving heart.
And because every good TV goodbye deserves a little emotion, the special also takes viewers behind the curtain during the show’s final days of production. Cameras capture the last table read, emotional final tapings, and the heartfelt goodbyes shared by cast and crew as the long-running series wrapped filming.

The celebration doesn’t stop there. The special also brings viewers inside the cast’s final wrap party, complete with speeches, laughs, and a few sentimental surprises marking the end of the show’s run. To top things off, fans will get an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming series finale, teasing what lies ahead as the Butlers and Johnsons prepare to say goodbye to the neighborhood they’ve called home for years.
For viewers who have followed the sitcom since day one,or anyone who just appreciates a good TV farewell, The Neighborhood: A Farewell Special looks ready to deliver a nostalgic sendoff worthy of the series’ long run.
And if the clips, memories, and final-set emotions are any indication, April 6 might be the perfect night to grab a seat on the couch and spend one more evening with the neighborhood.
