Season 4 of Apple TV's glittering yet chaotic newsroom drama has arrived and it is juicier, messier and more self-aware than ever. From AI conspiracies to newsroom power struggles and more questionable decisions by Alex Levy and Bradley Jackson, this season is a masterclass in how to do too much while somehow still keeping us hooked.
So grab your overpriced oat milk latte and let’s dive into The Morning Show Season 4 review that you actually want to read.
We will break down what works, what flops and whether this season is worth your screen time.
A Quick Recap for the Forgetful
In case your memory is foggy from all the plot twists of the last three seasons, here is the gist. The Morning Show started as a glossy behind the scenes look at morning television post #MeToo. It tackled toxic workplace culture, gender politics and the egos behind your AM headlines.
Fast forward to Season 4 and the stakes are bigger. UBA has merged with NBN to form the ominously named UBN. Alex and Stella are in charge, and Bradley is still doing her best impersonation of someone who totally has it all together.
Spoiler alert: she does not.
Season 4 Puts Power at the Center
This season is all about power. Who has it, who wants it and who is willing to torch every bridge and moral boundary to keep it. Alex Levy (played by the always magnetic Jennifer Aniston) is no longer just trying to survive — she is running the show. Sort of. Except now she is dealing with AI ethics, media censorship and a board of suits who could not care less about journalistic integrity.
Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson continues her descent into self righteous chaos, making impulsive decisions while demanding everyone treat her like a principled truth teller. It is exhausting and fascinating all at once.
The Morning Show Season 4 Nails the Timeliness
The best thing about this season is how timely it feels. Storylines around artificial intelligence, deepfakes, privacy breaches and media manipulation make this feel less like a TV drama and more like a documentary with way better lighting. The writers clearly binge Twitter and read too many think pieces, and honestly, we are here for it.
Topics like asylum seeker coverage, climate disasters and digital surveillance get woven into the narrative with varying levels of success. But even when the show bites off more than it can chew, it still makes you think — or at least keeps you entertained.
The Cast Is Still the Show’s Secret Weapon
Let’s be honest. The real reason we watch The Morning Show is not for the moral lessons. It is to watch insanely attractive people yell in glass offices and deliver Oscar-bait monologues about truth and integrity.
Jennifer Aniston delivers her best performance yet as Alex, finally letting go of her people pleasing past and stepping into her antihero era. Greta Lee’s Stella Bak is finally getting the screen time she deserves and Marion Cotillard’s new character brings an international intrigue that shakes things up in the best way.
There are moments when the writing slips into melodrama but the performances are so good you forgive it. Mostly.
What Does Not Work
Now let’s talk about the hot mess moments. The show tries to juggle about fifteen plotlines and a few of them absolutely get dropped. There are moments when character motivations make zero sense and you can tell the writers are more interested in shock value than coherence.
Also can someone please let Reese Witherspoon rest Her character has been through about four different personality makeovers and it is getting hard to root for her when she keeps making the same mistakes. Therapy, anyone
Final Verdict: Worth the Watch or Skip It?
So is The Morning Show Season 4 worth your time? If you love a good media circus with a side of political chaos and you do not mind a little narrative whiplash, the answer is yes. The show remains wildly entertaining, occasionally profound and always beautifully shot.
It may not always be subtle, but it knows how to keep us watching.
