The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins Scores Season 2 Renewal at NBC

Three people sitting on a bench. The person on the left gestures animatedly. They're in an outdoor setting with blurred lights in the background.

Put down the remote and stop doom-scrolling for once because NBC actually did something right. The peacock network officially confirmed today that The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins has been renewed for Season 2. After a freshman run that managed to pull in 14 million viewers for its premiere and somehow keep a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, which, let’s be honest, is usually reserved for prestige dramas about sad people in raincoats, Reggie is coming back to save us from another year of stale sitcom tropes.

The renewal feels less like a surprise and more like a relief. In a landscape where networks cancel shows before the actors even finish their first table read, Reggie Dinkins became the top-rated new comedy of the 2025–2026 season. It turns out that pairing Tracy Morgan’s unpredictability with Daniel Radcliffe’s manic energy was the formula we didn’t know we needed. While most "odd couple" pairings feel like they were generated by an uninspired algorithm, this one actually has teeth.

NBC has ordered another 10 episodes for the sophomore outing. Showrunners Robert Carlock and Sam Means, along with executive producer Tina Fey, are all returning to the helm. This is great news for anyone who enjoys jokes that move at a hundred miles per hour and require a second viewing just to catch the background gags. The full main cast, including the underappreciated Erika Alexander and Bobby Moynihan, are expected to return to the set.

Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 schedule, there is talk of moving Reggie from its midseason comfort zone into a high-stakes fall slot. It’s a bold move for a show that prides itself on being delightfully weird, but if anyone can handle the pressure of a prime-time Thursday, it’s a guy who spent Season 1 accidentally becoming a local hero while trying to buy a sandwich.

The first season left us with enough unanswered questions to fill a courtroom, and we can only hope Season 2 leans even harder into the absurdity. While we wait for an official premiere date, you can catch up on the madness over at Peacock.

Stay tuned to The TV Cave for more updates, cast interviews and the inevitable deep dives into whatever trouble Reggie gets into next.
