In “Bat Signal” we finally get to see what went down in New York with Ted’s case against mob boss Pelligrini. Harvey Specter (fan favorite from the original series, Suits) comes through for Ted and gives him the evidence needed to get a racketeering conviction against Pelligrini. Just as the jury hands over their verdict, Pelligrini’s lawyer calls Harvey to the stand exposing that Harvey and Ted broke the law to get the evidence admitted.
The Judge having no choice dismisses the verdict and instead of life in prison, Pelligrini gets 15 years and is released on parole. Time jump to present day and Harvey is back to help put Pelligrini back in jail for the murder of Ted’s brother Eddie. Was the plan to always integrate Harvey into the story like this? It had to be but it comes off that Harvey is here to “save” the show.
The scenes between Harvey, Ted and Kevin are entertaining. Kevin and Harvey cannot stand each other and their fun teasing back and forth is a highlight. Having said that, the show is trying to build up Ted and Harvey as this great team and unbreakable friendship with the Batman and Robin references. Would Arrow and Speedy be too on the nose? Most of us know the Walmart Batman reference when it comes to Stephen Amell, so at this point just call him Oliver. I do anyway.
During one of Ted and Harvey’s meetups we get some pipping hot tea original Suits fans would have caught. Harvey gets a text from his son asking him when will he be calling him. That means Harvey and Donna have a little boy. His name remains a mystery as Harvey jokingly said he named him Ted, then Kevin. Will we ever learn this kid’s name? Will Donna make an appearance? Only time will tell.
