‘Sheriff Country’ and ‘Fire Country’ Set Two-Hour Crossover Event

Edgewater is about to become a very busy place again.

Sheriff Country and Fire Country are officially coming together for another major crossover, with CBS setting a two-hour event for Friday, November 6. The crossover will span the fifth episodes of Sheriff Country Season 2 and Fire Country Season 5, bringing Mickey Fox, Bode Leone, Manny Perez and plenty of familiar faces together for a story involving escaped convicts, a hostage crisis and a major fire event.

The night begins with Sheriff Country Season 2 Episode 5, titled “No Way In.” The episode finds a dangerous prison break escalating into a hostage situation, forcing Mickey to make a high-stakes decision that comes with very personal consequences. Fire Country stars Max Thieriot, Kevin Alejandro and Jules Latimer will make the trip over to Mickey’s side of Edgewater for the first half of the event.

Things certainly aren't calming down in hour two. Fire Country Season 5 Episode 5, appropriately titled “No Way Out,” picks up with escaped convicts triggering a dangerous manhunt. Bode and the Station 42 crew will join forces with Mickey and her deputies as they attempt to protect both their loved ones and the Edgewater community.

Morena Baccarin, Matt Lauria, Michele Weaver, Amanda Arcuri and Ian Quinlan will cross over from Sheriff Country for the Fire Country portion of the event, making this a true blending of the two ensembles rather than a quick guest appearance from one or two characters.

And apparently a prison break wasn't enough trouble for one night.

Sheriff Country showrunner Matt Lopez teased that Mickey and Manny will figure heavily into the crossover as a major windstorm and fire event strikes the area while escaped convicts remain on the loose. That combination requires resources from both Station 42 and the Edgewater County Sheriff's Office, giving the crossover a natural reason to bring the two teams together.

The event continues CBS' efforts to make the expanding Fire Country franchise feel like one interconnected world. Sheriff Country is centered on Mickey, the stepsister of Fire Country's Sharon Leone, so the family connections between the shows were built into the spinoff from the beginning.

This also isn't Mickey and Bode's first time sharing the screen. The two shows previously came together for a crossover involving a school bus explosion and nine missing students, while individual characters have moved between the series at other points.

This time, however, CBS is once again going big with a story specifically designed to unfold across both shows. Between a prison break, hostages, escaped convicts, a windstorm and a wildfire, apparently Edgewater won't be easing viewers gently into November.

Sheriff Country Season 2 premieres Friday, October 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, with Fire Country Season 5 also returning as part of the network's Friday lineup. The two-hour crossover airs Friday, November 6 on CBS.
