Samuel L. Jackson Takes Over Texas in ‘Frisco King’ as Paramount+ Reveals Premiere Date and Teaser

Samuel L. Jackson is coming for the crown, and something tells us Frisco, Texas, has absolutely no idea what it's getting itself into. Paramount+ has officially unveiled the first teaser for Frisco King, the upcoming Tulsa King spinoff from Taylor Sheridan, and the new crime drama will premiere Friday, December 18, 2026, with two episodes.
Jackson reprises his role as Russell Lee Washington Jr., the New Orleans gangster introduced during the third season of Tulsa King. After crossing paths with Sylvester Stallone's Dwight Manfredi, Lee is ready to build something of his own. And naturally, his idea of settling down involves a little less relaxation and a whole lot more criminal activity.
A New City, A New Criminal Empire
In Frisco King, Lee trades New Orleans for the seemingly quiet suburbs of Frisco, Texas. But beneath the manicured lawns and picture-perfect neighborhoods, he discovers plenty of opportunities for someone who knows how to make money outside the law.
With an ambitious protégé, a dependable driver, and an increasingly colorful collection of associates, Lee starts turning small-time schemes into a growing criminal enterprise. Of course, building an empire comes with enemies, complications, and the occasional reminder that there's no such thing as easy money.
The newly released teaser offers fans their first taste of Jackson taking charge, complete with the attitude, intimidation, and explosive confrontations you'd expect from a man who has never been particularly interested in playing nice.
Samuel L. Jackson Leads the Cast
Joining Jackson are Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate, and Savanna Gann. And for fans wondering whether the two kings might cross paths again, Sylvester Stallone is confirmed to make a special appearance as Dwight Manfredi.
Sheridan writes the series and executive produces alongside Jackson, Stallone, and several other producers. Christina Alexandra Voros and Michael Friedman each direct four episodes, with Voros handling the pilot. The eight-episode first season gives Jackson the opportunity to take a character introduced in someone else's story and make him the center of his own. And with Sheridan continuing to expand the Tulsa King universe, it will be interesting to see whether Lee can establish himself as a kingpin without Dwight looking over his shoulder.
Frisco King premieres December 18 on Paramount+, with two episodes dropping on premiere day and new installments arriving every Friday.
