‘Neagley’ Renewed for Season 2 at Prime Video After Strong Debut

Well, that didn’t take long at all. Prime Video is officially staying in the Frances Neagley business, renewing the Reacher spinoff Neagley for a second season just two weeks after its debut.

The action series, led by Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, premiered September 16 with all eight episodes available to stream. According to Prime Video, the first season reached 40 million viewers globally in its first 13 days, giving Amazon a pretty convincing reason to keep this corner of the Reacher universe moving.

And really, was anyone expecting Neagley to quietly disappear after one season? The character had already become a fan favorite through her appearances alongside Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher, and giving Sten her own series allowed the franchise to expand without simply trying to make another version of Reacher.

The spinoff follows Neagley as a Chicago-based private investigator, putting the character front and center while maintaining the action-heavy DNA viewers already know from the flagship series. Season 1 also gave audiences a chance to see more of Neagley away from Reacher and build out her own world instead of keeping her permanently in his orbit.

The renewal also makes it increasingly clear that Prime Video sees Reacher as more than just one successful show. The original series has already been renewed through Season 6, and now Neagley has officially earned another round as well.

Details surrounding Season 2’s story, additional cast and premiere date have not yet been announced, so there are still plenty of questions about where Neagley goes next. What we do know is that Maria Sten will be back, and after the response to Season 1, Prime Video apparently had no interest in making fans wait around wondering about the show’s fate.

All eight episodes of Neagley Season 1 are currently streaming on Prime Video.
