Millie Bobby Brown is trading her Eleven powers for something a little more ghostly. The Stranger Things breakout star is set to headline and executive produce Prism, a new supernatural series currently in development at Netflix. Joining her behind the scenes are Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan and powerhouse production company AGBO, marking a high-profile creative alliance that Netflix clearly hopes will capture more streaming magic.
Prism follows Cassie, a woman gifted (or cursed) with the ability to communicate with apparitions. But this isn't your average haunted-house horror story. The stakes are global as Cassie races to uncover the cause of a worldwide phenomenon that sees spirits, or “visitors,” appearing across the globe. The project is based on the Assemble Original short story of the same name, which was featured in Assemble Artifacts magazine. Writer Nick Shafir, who helped develop the story in-house, will co-produce the series.
Etan Frankel, known for his work on Shameless and Joe vs. Carole, has been tapped as showrunner. Frankel brings some gritty storytelling chops to the table and is currently deep in Netflix waters with his latest project Big Mistakes.
AGBO, the Russo brothers’ production company, is no stranger to Netflix. Their recent hit The Electric State, also starring Brown, landed as the platform’s number one film. Their resume includes everything from The Gray Man to the upcoming Avengers blockbusters.
Executive producing alongside Brown through her PCMA banner are Brosnahan and Russell Kahn via Scrap Paper Pictures, along with the AGBO team—Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and Alessandra Maman. Assemble Media’s Jack Heller and Caitlin de Lisser-Ellen round out the list.
For Netflix, Prism represents another big swing at keeping Millie Bobby Brown in the family. Her long-running relationship with the streamer began with Stranger Things, which is set to wrap its fifth and final season in late 2025. She’s also front and center in the Enola Holmes film series, with a third movie expected in 2026.
Meanwhile, Rachel Brosnahan—fresh off her turn as Lois Lane in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman—adds yet another prestige TV credit to her already stacked resume.
Whether Prism ends up a global hit or just another ghost in the algorithm, one thing’s for sure: with Brown, Brosnahan, and the Russo brothers involved, Netflix is betting big on the supernatural.
Stay tuned, because if this one gets the greenlight, the ghosts aren’t the only thing that will be haunting your queue.
