Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is shaking up its coven again, and this time the magic is getting an extra jolt. AMC has officially added Omar Maskati as a series regular for Season 3, casting him in the mysterious role of Leo. It’s a welcome boost of fresh energy for a show that seems determined to level up its supernatural stakes rather than coast on past charms.

Season 3 is already deep into production in Vancouver, but the real twist comes from the show’s bold shift in setting: the

Mayfair saga is packing its bags and heading to Salem, Massachusetts. Yes, that Salem, the one dripping in witchcraft history, folklore, and enough generational trauma to power an entire season of prestige horror TV. Producers promise deeper mythology, new witch families, and a stronger connection to Salem’s infamous past. Translation: the drama is about to get deliciously messy.

Known for standout performances in Better Call Saul, Unbelievable, and The Recruit, he brings the kind of grounded intensity that fits perfectly with Mayfair’s blend of mysticism and melodrama. While details about Leo are firmly under lock and key, the upgrade to series regular strongly hints that he’ll be woven directly into the central chaos of Season 3.

He joins an expanded cast that now includes Betsy Brandt, James Frain, and Eliza Scanlen, each stepping into the universe to broaden the show’s supernatural and emotional landscape. With such a stacked lineup, Season 3 looks poised to explore bigger themes, richer character arcs, and more complex magical politics than previous seasons dared.

And let’s be honest the shift comes at exactly the right moment. Season 2 left Rowan Mayfair dealing with loss, betrayal, and a rapidly evolving sense of power. Throwing her and the rest of the coven into Salem’s shadowy corners feels like an invitation for darker storytelling and bold creative risks.

While AMC hasn’t announced a premiere date yet, the series is expected to return in 2026, giving fans plenty of time to speculate wildly about who Leo is, how he fits into the Mayfair legacy, and whether Salem’s ghosts are ready for this particular family of witches.

Maskati’s casting is a promising sign that Mayfair Witches isn’t afraid to expand its magical universe or stir the pot a little. Salem better brace itself. The Mayfairs are coming, and they never travel light.
