Mayfair Witches Season 3 Gets New Title and December Premiere Date at NYCC

The Mayfair family is heading to Salem, and considering everything this family has been through, moving to a town famous for its witch trials feels like an interesting choice. AMC unveiled new details about the third season of Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches during New York Comic Con, including a new title, fresh footage, and a premiere date that gives fans one more supernatural obsession before the year ends.

Now officially titled Mayfair Witches: Salem Coven, the series will return Wednesday, December 30, 2026, on AMC and AMC+. Alexandra Daddario is back as Rowan Mayfair, whose growing powers are about to put her at the center of another dangerous chapter in the family's complicated history.

A New City, More Powerful Witches, and Bigger Problems

Season 3 trades the familiar surroundings of New Orleans for Salem, Massachusetts, where Rowan will find herself navigating a world filled with ancient magic, unfamiliar bloodlines, and people who have their own plans for her abilities. The move introduces new families and opens the door to a deeper exploration of witchcraft within AMC's Anne Rice Immortal Universe.

Rowan isn't exactly arriving in Salem as the same woman viewers met in Season 1. After everything involving Lasher, her powers have evolved, and the upcoming season will explore what that transformation means for both her future and the people around her. With new enemies and competing interests entering the picture, having more power might create just as many problems as it solves.

The Mayfair Family Expands

Daddario returns alongside Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels, with Betsy Brandt, Eliza Scanlen, Michiel Huisman, and James Frain among the familiar and new faces appearing in Season 3. Co-showrunners Esta Spalding and Thomas Schnauz are continuing to expand the supernatural mythology as the series explores Salem's history and introduces another side of its magical world.

The change in location could give Mayfair Witches the fresh direction it needs. Salem brings its own history, secrets, and supernatural possibilities, but Rowan's biggest challenge may still be figuring out who she can trust when everyone seems interested in controlling her power.

Mayfair Witches: Salem Coven premieres December 30 on AMC and AMC+.
