Just when you thought Fairmont Crest had enough personalities to keep the drama flowing, Beyond the Gates decided to invite two more to the party. Kandi Burruss and Tabitha Brown are officially stepping into the world of CBS' hit daytime soap, and something tells us these ladies aren't coming just to admire the beautiful homes.

The two entertainers will make guest appearances on Thursday, October 22, adding even more familiar faces to a series that has made a habit of welcoming celebrities into its already chaotic fictional community.

Kandi Burruss Has Entered the Chat

Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, actress, and former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss will portray Kalista Kilroy, a new character with a connection to Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett).

Now, anyone who watches Beyond the Gates knows that Bill has enough going on without another woman entering his orbit. Between his complicated history with Dani Dupree and his increasingly messy marriage to Hayley, the man could probably use a vacation rather than another potential complication.

Exactly what Kalista's connection to Bill means remains to be seen, but the possibility of another chapter from his past coming into play certainly gives viewers something to speculate about. Burruss is no stranger to acting. Beyond her successful music career and lengthy run on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she has appeared on The Chi and built an impressive résumé in entertainment and theater. Now she's adding daytime drama to the mix.

Tabitha Brown Is Also Heading to Fairmont Crest

Joining Burruss is actress, entrepreneur, and social media favorite Tabitha Brown, who will play Tia Allen. Brown has become a beloved entertainment personality thanks to her infectious positivity, humor, and unmistakable voice. She's also an accomplished actress and host, with credits including The Chi, Tab Time, and It's CompliPlated.

Details about Tia's role remain under wraps, including which Fairmont Crest residents she'll be interacting with. Considering Brown's ability to move between comedy and heartfelt moments, it'll be interesting to see what kind of character the writers have created for her. And while Brown usually brings a little sunshine wherever she goes, Fairmont Crest has a way of testing even the most cheerful personalities.

More Drama Is Coming to Fairmont Crest

Both actresses are scheduled to appear during the October 22 episode, which will also feature a celebration honoring Dani Dupree's life and career. Unfortunately, this is Beyond the Gates, where celebrations rarely go according to plan. An unexpected guest reportedly reopens old wounds, leaving Naomi, Chelsea, and Andre dealing with the aftermath.

Whether either newcomer is responsible for the disruption remains to be seen, but the timing certainly makes their arrivals interesting. The casting also continues the soap's tradition of bringing recognizable personalities into its fictional world. Real Housewives of Potomac stars Karen Huger, Gizelle Bryant, and Dr. Wendy Osefo have previously appeared, making Burruss another familiar face from Bravo's reality television universe.

For a relatively young daytime drama, Beyond the Gates has demonstrated that it knows how to generate excitement beyond its regular storylines. Bringing in entertainers with established fan bases gives longtime soap viewers something new to enjoy while potentially introducing the series to audiences who haven't yet discovered the Duprees.

Of course, the real test is what these guest stars contribute to the story. Celebrity cameos are fun, but they're even better when they come with a little scandal.

Will Kandi Burruss and Tabitha Brown stir up trouble in Fairmont Crest? We'll find out when Beyond the Gates airs Thursday, October 22, on CBS, with episodes also available on Paramount+.
