Woman in a pink patterned dress holds a yellow note with writing. She appears content, in a room with horizontal blinds and a green wall.

The High Potential Season 2 finale, “Family Tree,” delivers exactly what a finale should—huge twists, emotional moments, and a cliffhanger ending that makes the wait for Season 3 feel unbearable. This episode had me on edge from start to finish.

The episode opens with a dead body found poolside at the hotel where Lucia works, immediately raising the stakes for Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). The victim, Vera Hensley, is a high-profile guest, and the situation gets suspicious quickly when the team discovers the hotel cameras were turned off overnight.

Vera’s husband Frank becomes the first major suspect, especially after blood is found on an elevator door and missing hotel items turn up in the trash. At first, it feels like a typical case but this being High Potential, things spiral fast.

The biggest shock of the episode comes when Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson) starts noticing Lucia acting strangely. That tension builds perfectly until security footage shows Lucia pushing a cart big enough to hide a body. Watching Adam try to remain professional while realizing Lucia may be involved was one of the most emotional parts of the episode. Daniel Sunjata really nailed those scenes.

The twist revealing Lucia as a con woman was honestly something I did not see coming at all. Learning that she secretly helped Charles Hale enter the hotel and had a past connection with him added a whole new level of betrayal to the story. It made her relationship with Adam feel even more tragic.

Meanwhile, the ongoing Willa Quinn storyline explodes when Morgan finally confronts her face-to-face. Things get extremely intense when Willa mentions Morgan’s kids, pushing Morgan to literally ram her car in desperation. That moment showed just how fierce Morgan is when her family is threatened.

The final moments are absolutely wild, Captain Wagner gets shot, (his dad setting him up was even crazier), Roman or another stalker guy is lurking at Ava's showcase and Lucia is arrested while Adam says goodbye. This finale delivered major shocks and left so many unanswered questions. I seriously need Season 3 right now.
