What happened this week on General Hospital? We have the scoop.
It was a busy week in Port Charles as secrets started becoming harder to keep and several characters found themselves heading into completely new territory. Alexis finally confronted Willow with the truth about Drew’s shooting, Curtis began serving his two-year prison sentence, and Josslyn received a surprising new WSB assignment that puts her directly in charge of her father’s company.
Elsewhere, Carly and Valentin made a decision about their growing relationship, Anna continued struggling with Peter’s haunting presence, and Drew and Ava moved forward with their dangerous plans involving Sonny and Jack Brennan. Even the Corinthos family barbecue couldn’t escape a little drama.
Alexis Tells Willow She Knows the Truth
Kai went to Alexis with a disturbing update about Willow, telling her that Willow had been threatening him and that he was pretty sure she tried to kill Drew again. What Kai didn’t realize was that Alexis already knew something much bigger: she has known since the trial that Willow was the person who shot Drew.
Alexis went straight to Willow and finally put everything on the table. She told Willow that she knew she shot Drew and threatened to expose her publicly if she so much as looked in Kai and Trina’s direction. Willow tried to keep things together afterward, assuring her worried assistant Daphne that everything was fine and telling her to hold her calls, but Alexis’ confrontation clearly left her shaken.
Later, Willow was at the Quartermaine boathouse feeling frustrated and worried when Chase appeared and asked what was wrong. She opened up to him about some of her problems, but with Alexis now openly threatening to reveal what she knows, Willow has much bigger problems coming her way.
Curtis Begins His Two-Year Sentence at Pentonville
Curtis officially began his two-year sentence at Pentonville this week, where Warden Alvarez warned him about what he could expect once he was released into the general prison population. Curtis was told to be prepared because there were people inside who could come after him, making his new surroundings even more dangerous.
Outside Pentonville, his friends and family were already trying to help. Anna reached out to Warden Alvarez to confirm that Curtis was doing okay, while Chase visited Molly and offered to help get Curtis’ conviction overturned on his own time. Jordan also leaned on Anna as she tried to deal with the fallout from Curtis’ actions and incarceration.
By the time Curtis reached his cell, there was another surprise waiting for him: a new cellmate. Who exactly is sharing that Pentonville cell with Curtis could become very important as he adjusts to his new life behind bars.
Josslyn Gets Her Next WSB Assignment
Jack Brennan summoned Josslyn to his office and revealed her next assignment from the WSB powers-that-be: she is going to become CEO of JJE. Considering how many times Josslyn has said she didn’t want to run her father’s company, suddenly accepting the position was always going to raise questions.
Hudson Parker immediately knew something didn’t make sense. He couldn’t understand why Josslyn had suddenly changed her mind, especially since her new position interferes with the scam he is running. Hudson told his boss that he would fix the problem, which means Josslyn may already have more trouble waiting for her than she realizes.
Carly wasn’t convinced by Josslyn’s story either. When Joss went to her mother’s office to announce that she was accepting the CEO position, Carly immediately asked what the catch was. Josslyn later gave the same cover story to Trina, Emma and Gio at the pool. While she laid it on a little thick and mostly got away with it, Trina saw through her best friend immediately, eventually leading to a fun “popcorn” moment between them.
Brennan later burst into Carly’s office and warned her not to interfere in Josslyn’s activities as JJE CEO. He reminded Carly that her previous interference in WSB business nearly got Josslyn killed, then took a spiteful shot at Carly and Valentin’s relationship before leaving.
Carly and Valentin Choose Each Other
Brennan’s comments forced Carly and Valentin to address something that has been developing between them. With Anna and Jason still important parts of their respective lives, Carly and Valentin confronted what those relationships mean and ultimately chose to trust and choose each other. It was a beautiful moment between two people who have slowly found an unexpected connection.
Valentin also has another goal in mind. He met with Jason at the Metro Court Pool and revealed that he wants back into ELQ. When Anna later joined Jason, Carly and Valentin and was surprised to find them all together, Valentin explained that they had been discussing ELQ and its future.
Anna Struggles as Peter Appears Again
Anna continued having a difficult time this week as another panic attack hit while she was at the Metro Court. Valentin noticed her gasping for breath and immediately asked what was wrong, but Peter August appeared again and urged Anna to say nothing. His continued presence is making an already difficult recovery even more complicated for her.
Jack Brennan has also become involved in Anna’s recovery, reaching out to Felicia for help. Felicia didn’t appreciate the way Brennan questioned her and later went to Carly’s office to cool down and vent about what felt like an interrogation. Between Anna, Willow, Valentin, Nina, Carly, Ava and now Josslyn’s JJE assignment, Brennan is becoming quite the Port Charles social butterfly. He seems to be everywhere and involved in almost everybody’s business.
Sonny Says He’s Strictly a Coffee Importer Now
Sonny surprised Laura by announcing that he has divested himself of the businesses most likely to attract law enforcement attention and is now strictly a coffee importer. Laura was understandably stunned by the declaration, especially considering Sonny’s long history in Port Charles.
Laura had a major announcement of her own. She told Anna and ADA Turner that she was taking a leave of absence to visit Kevin and Ace in Dublin, Ireland, and that Ezra Boyle would temporarily take over her job. Anna and Turner were skeptical that the arrangement would work, although Ezra agreed to cooperate with both women while Laura is away.
Before leaving town, Laura also has some unfinished business. She met Sonny at the Metro Court after his family barbecue and asked him for several favors. When she spotted Drew and Ava together, Laura agreed with Sonny that the combination wasn’t good and began trying to devise a plan that could finally stop the feud between Sonny and Drew.
Drew and Ava Put Their Plan Into Motion
Ava admitted to Nina that she is aligning herself with Drew to take Sonny down, prompting Nina to caution her friend about working with him. Nina’s concerns were warranted because Drew is already moving ahead with another dangerous scheme.
Drew met with Martin, who reluctantly handed over a computer virus on a thumb drive capable of disrupting security systems. Drew explained why he needed it as another piece of his plan began falling into place. Ava later met Brennan for drinks at the Metro Court Gardens and drugged his second drink as part of Drew’s plan, although Laura and Sonny stopped
Drew before he could complete his portion of the scheme.
Nina has also become tangled in Brennan’s business. She confronted him at the Metro Court Gardens and demanded that he give Willow what she wants or he would be the one who gets destroyed. Plenty of customers witnessed their argument, including Carly, and Drew later manipulated Nina into doing even more than simply having a drink with Brennan.
The Corinthos Family Barbecue Brings a Surprise Guest
The Corinthos family gathered at Sonny’s house for a barbecue, with Michael working the grill, Donna helping with the invitations and everyone getting extremely involved in the backyard cornhole game. The gathering even had an unexpected guest when ADA Turner arrived carrying cupcakes, and she fit into the group surprisingly well.
Things became more tense when Michael and Brook Lynn had a confrontation inside Sonny’s living room. Gio and Emma overheard the argument, and Gio immediately stepped in to defend his mother, angrily telling Michael to stop hurting her. His reaction showed just how protective Gio has become of Brook Lynn.
Rocco eventually left the barbecue to meet up with Scout, while Dante and Elizabeth helped clean up afterward. Elizabeth seemed more than happy to escape the intense cornhole competition happening outside.
Serena Has a New Vision for Deception
Serena Baldwin presented Michael with a new idea for revamping Deception and pushing the company in a different direction. Her plan is designed to grow Deception’s market share and help the company remain competitive, and it sounded like Serena may have exactly the kind of fresh idea the company needs. Now Michael has to decide whether to give her proposal the green light.
Nina wasn’t nearly as impressed with what she saw happening between Michael and Serena. During an encounter at the Metro Court Pool, she chastised Michael, accused him of practically performing a public striptease and called Serena a hooker. Nina was brutal, even by Nina standards.
Lucas and Joe Have an Apartment Problem
Lucas was happily cleaning his brand-new apartment when Joe Fitzpatrick arrived, leading both men to discover that they had somehow leased the same place. The situation became even more awkward when they accidentally fell into a compromising position together.
Once the mover arrived, Lucas got a look at just how much Joe had brought with him, including a rowing machine. Joe apologized for having so much stuff, but Lucas admitted he had plenty of empty space. Their unexpected living arrangement should be interesting to watch as they figure out exactly how two people ended up renting the same apartment.
Around Port Charles
Liesl Obrecht met Britt for drinks at the Metro Court Gardens, where Britt admitted she was having a difficult time seeing her. Lulu found Ric day-drinking at the Gardens and wanted to know what was going on, while Dante limped into the hospital and stopped to see Elizabeth at the nurses station. Ric spotted the two together and joked that Dante might need a wheelchair.
Elsewhere, Gio continued taking care of his friends by bringing Emma an iced tea and Trina warm water with lemon. Emma and Trina appreciated the gesture from their respective partner-in-love and partner-on-stage. Molly also accepted a new case from one of her coworkers before discussing Curtis’ situation with Chase, while Jordan met Drew to discuss his return to Aurora.
With Alexis finally telling Willow that she knows the truth, Curtis beginning his sentence, Josslyn’s WSB assignment putting her in Hudson’s path and Drew’s plans becoming increasingly dangerous, several Port Charles storylines appear ready to collide. And with Jack Brennan somehow finding his way into almost all of them, he may want to keep an eye on his drink the next time somebody invites him to the Metro Court Gardens.
