General Hospital’s week started with Emma in a dumpster, literally! Joss discovers her and helps her get out. They have a discussion on flashbacks to their earlier childhood days. Emma lets her jealousy of Joss show, and Joss expresses her jealous memories of Emma. They almost make amends until Emma asks Joss how she got accepted in Professor Dalton’s Environmental Physics class bypassing other more qualified students on a wait list. Joss deflects and avoids providing a direct answer. Jordan and Isaiah’s relationship becomes a casualty of Jordan’s undercover work with Sidwell. She wants to focus on finding evidence on Sidwell to get him arrested. Isaiah is heartbroken.
Anna sees the tense moments between Jordan and Isaiah, and asks Jordan if she needs help after Isaiah leaves. She thinks Jordan can produce some good information for both Laura and herself. She cautions her to be careful. Sonny tells Carly she can’t accompany him to Los Angeles for his heart surgery. She doesn’t agree and creates a cover story that won’t draw unwanted attention to them. Sonny acquiesces. Jason asks Sasha why she sold out to Sidwell. She admits to taking money from Sidwell to support her independence and her child’s well-being. He repeats the fact that Sasha doesn’t have to worry about losing her independence, but she is not hearing it.
Lucas and Marco tell each other everything about their lives, their strange upbringing, their families and their out-of-control fathers. They leave no secrets untold and begin to create a stronger bond. Lucas does ask Marco if he is still ignoring his father’s obvious crimes. Natalia suffers the fallout of Sidwell exposing her secret of being his ex-wife. She is fired from her CFO Deception job immediately. Sonny no longer trusts her, and turns on her. Sidwell goes to Alexis’ Office to plead his case for them to hire his son, Marco. Alexis acknowledges Sidwell’s emotions, but tells him that doesn’t affect their hiring practices.
The week continues with Nina and Carly meeting to decide whether to keep their alliance in place. Carly accuses Nina of not supporting her when confronting Willow at Drew’s house. Willow didn’t tell Michael his children were being moved in with Drew, too. Nina says she was strategically working to get closer with her daughter, Willow. Carly promises to stay away from Willow, so Nina’s satisfied. Carly immediately contacted Diane to make arrangements for the future custody battle between Willow and Michael. Kai meets with Drew to tell him he accepts Drew’s help to get the cutting-edge surgery. Drew is overjoyed, and arranges for him to talk to the surgeon, Dr. Mohinder.
Dr. Mohinder believes Kai will benefit from the surgery, and schedules his surgery at GH immediately. It will happen next week. Kai is optimistic and thanks Drew for giving him the priceless gift of Hope. He doesn’t know how to repay him. Drew has a suggestion to repay him. He asks Kai to document his journey and surgery. He could inspire a lot of people, and show them how he defied the odds. Kai says he’ll do it.
Ava IS BACK! She announces this to Ric as she enters his GH hospital room. She is dressed in the fashions she’s accustomed to as Ric gapes at her beauty. He cautions her about her sudden lavish spending. It could draw unwanted attention to her. He recommends how the money should be transferred to her account, and slowly spends it. She could say that her galleries were becoming more profitable. Ava agrees. She tells him her aphrodisiac is when he gives financial advice, and he answers that blackmail is his. They Kiss! Ric and Ava are so messy!
Trina meets with Curtis to discuss her feelings about Kai’s surgery. He gives her an opportunity to voice her opinion without judgement, and she unloads all of her concerns. She doesn’t want to lie to Kai, but feels the surgery is too risky. Curtis explains from his perspective that her only alternative is to support Kai. Kai already knows how she feels about the surgery, but has decided to undergo it. Trina goes to see Kai at the park. Kai tells her that his surgery is scheduled for next week. Kai talked to his family who are out of the country. (Why can’t Kai’s parents pay for his surgery?) Trina says she will support him no matter what. He smiles and hugs her while they watch his team practicing.
Willow asks Jason for help with Carly. She hopes he can talk her into not taking her kids away from her. Jason tells Willow she’s the only person who can help herself. She has to go see Michael in Germany and talk to him face-to-face. They should be the only people involved in resolving their marriage and custody issues. Willow believes that is too drastic. Willow decides to visit Michael face-to-face to discuss their childrens’ future. Carly and Jason clash over this new wrinkle in the Willow-Michael saga. Carly reveals Michael is STILL in Love with Willow. She will keep the custody case scheduling in place despite the outcome. Drew gets his lawyers to finalize Willow’s kids custody should both Michael and Willow are incapacitated. Willow’s struck by this news, and asks him to put a hold on that. She tells Drew she’s going to see Michael face-to-face. Drew tries to talk her out of it, then tries to invite himself along on the trip. Willow shut both those suggestions down. He later tries one more thing, and is successful in getting her to make love before she leaves for Baden Baden, Germany and see Michael.
Kristina goes to check on Liz and speaks with Lucky at Liz’s house. She says she’s having nightmares, and being eaten up with guilt. She wants to confess. He advises her not to confess, but try to move on. She is lucky that Liz and Ric are healing and getting better. Kristina says will not confess now. Diane revisits Alexis committing Kristina to a psychiatric facility involuntarily. Alexis refuses. She says everything will be fine if they do nothing. Diane reminded her that Ric or Liz might remember his vehicle’s brakes didn’t work. She asks Diane to destroy the paperwork, but she doesn’t. Alexis goes to see Ric to check if he remembered anything. He does, and tells her Kristina needs to be committed. Alexis realizes Ric and Ava are both involved with her being blackmailed. She begs him to say nothing.
Portia and Curtis both go to see Drew at his house to ask him to talk Kai out of getting the risky surgery. Drew refuses. Tracy aligns with Ezra Boyle to join him in ridding Port Charles of Sonny Corinthos, a mafia boss. Tracy has personal reasons for this decision. Laura tries to talk her out of it, but Tracy has made a donation to Ezra Boyle, and looks forward to Sonny’s exit. He and Carly were responsible for AJ’s death. AJ was Monica and Alan’s son.
Lulu moves into her new house. Dante helps her get it set up for Charlotte and Rocco. Laura stops by to visit, and tells her how proud she is of her daughter. She tells her she always has home to come home to with her Mom. Lulu’s starting a new job as a freelance long-form journalist. She sells a story she pitched to the Landview Banner Managing Editor about an adoption story. Dante tells Lulu that her new job gives her a lot of freedom. It’s good because Rocco could really use some time with his mom now. Portia and Nina brainstorm and devise a plan to trap Drew. They want to stop his manipulation of Nina’s daughter, Willow, and Kai, among others he’s tricked. They found an escort, Jacinda, may be the way to do this.
Brook Lynn and Chase tell Lois and Ned they have decided to adopt a child and start their family. Ned is overjoyed and looks forward to meeting his future grandchild. He is happy to help them navigate all the requirements. Brook Lynn asks Lois for the name of the adoption agency that handled her child’s adoption, but she avoids their question. She calls her Mom and asks for help. She later tells Brook Lynn and Chase the St. Ignatius Adoption Agency is now closed, and has been for 15 years. This is another lie, because Lois knows they didn’t use an adoption agency to place Brook Lynn’s baby with an adoptive family. Sonny undergoes his operation. Brick and Carly went with him to LA and awaited the operation outcome. Kristina and Dante worry about the father at Carly’s. Kristina is there caring for Donna.
Danny and Jason have a heart-to-heart talk at the batting cages. He misses his family with Dante, Rocco and Scout, but is happy he is with his Dad, and doesn’t feel alone. Jason assures Danny he’ll always be there to discuss his feelings. He and Danny are so much alike, and Sam showed Jason how to open up and let his emotions out. He promises his son, Danny, to do that for him. Rocco tells Lulu, his Mom, he dreamed and prayed for a time when he could be home with her again. He loves and misses and loves his blended family with his Dad, Rocco and Scout, but he is where he Exactly wants to be now, with his Mom. Molly and Cody laugh and talk at the ER while he awaits his prognosis after being kicked by his horse. She was there visiting her Dad, and walking with him on his first time out of bed.
Molly sees the involuntary commitment order document for Kristina. She picked it up when Diane knocked both their briefcase bags to the floor in Ric’s hospital room. They both quickly picked up the fallen documents, and Molly mistakenly put it in her bag. Diane and Alexis hire Marco. He saw the involuntary commitment order document mixed in legal files he was given to begin working on. Diane tells him it is a private matter, and asks for discretion. Marco later goes to tell Lucas the good news and they go out to dinner to celebrate. Lucas comes by Lulu’s new house for an interview about his adoption. It’s for Lulu’s article she’s doing for the Landview Banner.
Lulu and Brook Lynn have another altercation. Brook Lynn demands Lulu stop writing an article on adoption. She shares she and Chase were planning to adopt a child. Dante comes by Lulu’s house and tries to referee their argument. Sonny’s surgery is a Success. Carly calls Jason to give him the good news. Meanwhile, a ‘nurse’ goes to Sonny’s room and injects a chemical into his IV. Sonny wakes as she does it. Will he stop her? Willow gets to the burn clinic to see Michael. She can’t get past the receptionist, and is told he refuses to see her. Willow leaves dejected. What she doesn’t know is that the receptionist is working with Drew to prevent her from seeing Michael. Molly shows Kristina the Involuntary Commitment paperwork. It’s a big surprise to both of them. They confront their Mother, Alexis, at her office. Alexis is totally surprised. Nina and Portia hire a sex worker to trap Drew. It will cost them $6000. Will it work?
Ava goes to see Alexis for more money. Alexis warns her that if she gets caught embezzling, they are both going down. Jordan, Sidwell and Drew Meet and form an alliance to bring Sonny down. Jordan has to apologize to Drew for her unnecessary involvement in his altercation with Curtis. She wants to rebuild their friendship. Does Drew believe her?
There were lots of familial and business alliances developed, emotional altercations, and scheming happening. They were a little light on Nurses Ball organizing, but fairly certain that will amp up in the weeks to come. Really like how there were more younger kids’ moments added this week. Donna’s a scene stealer, and Danny and Rocco give excellent performances. That's all for this week at Port Charles.
