I know it sounds like hyperbole, but this is absolutely true! The two-hour finale was edge-of-your-seat, cinema-quality excitement. There was so much heart, soul, and family in this show.
Let's get into Fire Country Season 3 Episode 19!
The opening scene began with a smooth handoff between couples, Audrey and Bode, smiling and smitten as they entered the station, followed by Eve and Francine babysitting. Bode stops by and teases Eve, both exhibiting that close, familiar friendship they share with Jake.
Vince and Sharon Leone commiserate about finding Jake’s replacement, as Vince’s latest interview storms off, spewing some choice words on the way out. Vince and Sharon head to the kitchen and join the rest of the crew. Jake’s just arriving, and Gabriela sneaks up behind him as he opens his locker. She jokes with him one last time before heading toward the kitchen. Manny arrives and gives his daughter a big hug in the hallway.
It's time! The crew gathers one last time for Jake's farewell breakfast at Station 42 in Edgewater.
The camera angles, smooth frame transitions, and scene-to-scene captures show the closeness and realness of this group. Everyone’s there, joking and enjoying a delicious breakfast and the true friendship they all share. Jake bashfully tells everyone how he feels, in as few words as possible. Everyone knows how he is and loves him for it. They go around sharing their gratitude and updates. There’s a sweet moment between Sharon and Jake, and a fun one with Manny and Gabriela. Vince shows how he protects his crew members by looking out for Gabriela.
And that was just the beginning! The show continues with Manny and Bode tracking Gabriela’s stalker her almost-boyfriend, Finn. Finn gets away, but the gas station catches fire, and Bode and Manny stay to help put it out. They also rescue a girl until the fire crew arrives.
Next, of course, Finn finds Gabriela. She and Audrey were at the Leone’s home. Finn has been tracking Gabriela's phone without her knowledge. Finn gets shot just as Manny arrives. They have to save him and rush him to the hospital but a massive fire breaks out, complicating everything. They get turned around as the fire spreads. The fire strikes the area around Three Rock, where Eve, Francine, and the Three Rock crew work valiantly to extinguish it. They’re eventually forced to pull out as the flames grow. Eve delivers a heartfelt speech to her crew as they retreat it brought tears, such an emotional moment. These entire Three Rock scenes were exceptional.

Later, the long-term care facility becomes the central scene where all fire resources come together. Bode arrives before the rest of the fire support and helps evacuate the residents with Grandpa Leone before the building catches fire. The poignant moments between the two were heartwarming. Vince and Sharon arrive with their crews, only to discover Bode and Grandpa have gone back in to save a friend. They rush in to find them. Jake arrives now designated Battalion Chief and quickly organizes the fire crews and allocates resources.
Bode emerges from the burning building, nearly engulfed in flames, only to learn his entire family is still inside. He’s held back from going in. Inside, Grandpa, Sharon, and Vince find each other and slowly make their way toward an exit.
Outside, Manny, Gabriela, and Audrey get turned around by the advancing fire and arrive at the facility. Finn is taken by the paramedics, and Audrey is taken by the police. She tells them she shot Finn and since she’s on parole, she has to be questioned.
The episode ended too soon! Does Bode lose his whole family at once? Does Audrey return to prison? Does Finn live? Will Jake become Battalion Chief for good? Did Three Rock Camp survive the blazing fire?
So much happened in this Fire Country season finale that kept the viewer thoroughly engrossed. There was exceptional excitement and powerful storytelling from beginning to end. It’s so sad we have to wait until fall to find out what happened to this fantastic Fire Country collective.
What we do know? Billy Burke (Vince Leone) and Stephanie Arcila (Gabriela Perez) are leaving the show as series regulars as confirmed by Deadline. One can guess that Vince doesn't make it out alive. There is some speculation that Gabriela may guest star on future episodes.
This show is a rare CBS comfort gem. I cannot wait for it to return in the fall.
