Jules’ New Reality
Jules (Hunter Schafer) is shown immersed in painting as we learn how she becomes a sugar baby. Her roommate Vivian (Cailyn Rice) encourages her to go on dates while attending art school. Jules gives it a try, initially seeing multiple men before eventually settling into an arrangement with a plastic surgeon, who becomes her primary partner. During one of their conversations, he asks when she transitioned, and she shares that it was at 14.
Soon after, Jules tells her parents she’s dropping out of art school, claiming she’s making good money as a hostess—though we know there’s more to the story.
Rue’s Dangerous Hustle
Rue (Zendaya) is now working for Alamo, selling heavy-duty firearms, most of which are being trafficked into Mexico. Despite the risk, she’s only earning a 3% commission and still hopes to eventually go legit. At the Silver Slipper, a pig wanders in, and Alamo abruptly shoots it, another eerie reminder of the violent world Rue is operating in. Obviously, this is an ominous message from Laurie.
The Wedding Setup
Rue invites Jules to attend Cassie and Nate’s wedding as her plus-one. Jules initially doubts she’d be welcome but ultimately decides to go. On the wedding day, Nate (Jacob Elordi) is seen vomiting in the bathroom, hinting at anxiety or deeper issues. His mother, Marsha (Paula Marshall), is visibly surprised when Maddy (Alexa Demie) shows up. When Jules arrives with Rue, she locks eyes with Cal (Eric Dane), creating immediate tension.
Secrets, Past, and Power
After the ceremony, Rue gets a call from Bishop (Darrell Britt-Gibson), who tells her she needs to come into work, pulling her away from the reception. At the wedding, Jules and Cal have a tense conversation. Cal reveals he was arrested for sleeping with an underage boy and that the videos were leaked. Jules is surprised the police never contacted her, and Cal explains that the full footage involving her was never recovered. Across the room, Jules and Nate exchange a loaded glance. There’s a clear implication that Jules suspects Nate had something to do with her footage never surfacing.
Rue and Fez
While driving to meet Bishop, Rue receives a call from Fezco (Angus Cloud). Given Cloud’s real-life passing, we only hear Rue’s side of the conversation. From what we can gather, Fez may be considering breaking out of prison.
Wedding Drama Unfolds
Back at the reception, Marsha delivers a speech, making a pointed comment about Nate previously bringing home a girl who “wasn’t quite a fit.” The camera lingers on Maddy, who clearly takes it personally.
A man named Naz arrives and confronts Nate, claiming Nate owes him a significant amount of money and questioning why he’s throwing such an extravagant wedding. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) overhears and becomes visibly shaken.
Meanwhile, bridesmaid Heather (Jessica Blair Herman) confides in her husband Fred that they lent Nate a large sum of money and are now worried after hearing Naz’s accusation. Cassie and Nate share their first dance, but Cassie is clearly distracted and upset about the financial implications. Nate tries to reassure her, but the tension is undeniable. Watching them, Maddy becomes emotional and eventually leaves her table.
Money, Lies, and Control
Heather later confronts Cassie directly, revealing that they gave Nate money and questioning whether he squandered it. At the same time, Nate pulls Fred aside, reassuring him and telling him to “handle” his wife, showing his usual need for control.
Laurie’s Operation
Rue and Bishop arrive at Laurie’s (Martha Kelly) house. Bishop explains they could buy from anyone, but Alamo prefers Laurie’s prices—as long as they can test the product. Laurie agrees.
In a subtle but chilling moment, Bishop drops a pill into the water bowl of Laurie’s bird without her noticing.
Rue tests the drugs and confirms they’re clean. Bishop pays Laurie in a dramatic, almost theatrical fashion—tossing money into the air and letting it fall onto the table, a striking cinematic choice.
Violence at Home
After the wedding, Nate and Cassie return home, only to find Naz waiting for them. Things quickly escalate. Naz’s associate brutally beats Nate, while Cassie is thrown to the floor, suffering a nosebleed. In a horrifying turn, they cut off Nate’s toe, leaving both him and Cassie traumatized.
Jules’ Double Life
Jules returns home to find her sugar daddy in the shower. Without hesitation, she begins putting on makeup and preparing herself, slipping seamlessly into the role she’s created for survival.
Rue’s Close Call
Driving back from Laurie’s, Rue is pulled over by the DEA. After identifying her, they order her out of the car, ending the episode on a tense cliffhanger. Back at Laurie’s house, her bird suddenly collapses, hinting that Bishop’s earlier action may have larger consequences.
Final Thoughts
This is easily the most riveting episode of the season so far. It’s also the first time we see the entire core cast orbiting the same central event, giving the episode a more cohesive and interconnected feel.
Make sure to watch past the credits for behind-the-scenes footage of the wedding, including costume design, set construction, and how the lavish event was brought to life. It’s a fun look at the craftsmanship behind the chaos.
