Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia Heat Up in 56 Days: Everything We Know About Prime’s Newest Obsession

A shirtless man and a woman lie in bed under dark sheets with a blue tint. The woman gazes at the man thoughtfully.

Move over, Saltburn. There’s a new breed of unhinged, high-stakes horniness arriving on our streaming screens and it’s coming for your productivity. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, buckle up: Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia are set to burn down the internet in 56 Days, the upcoming erotic thriller series hitting Amazon Prime Video on February 18, 2026.

At The TV Cave, we’ve seen our fair share of "strangers with secrets" tropes, but this adaptation of Catherine Ryan Howard’s bestselling novel feels like it was designed in a lab specifically to make us lose our minds. Between the neon-soaked visuals and the palpable chemistry between our leads, it’s clear Prime Video is leaning hard into the "prestige steam" genre.

The Plot: A Romance with a Body Count

The premise is simple enough to be terrifying. Two strangers, Ciara (Cameron) and Oliver (Jogia), meet in a supermarket, which is already a red flag because who meets people in the produce aisle anymore? They strike up an intense, whirlwind romance and decide to move in together almost immediately to hide away from the world.

However, the story jumps between the "past" (the 56-day countdown of their relationship) and the "present," where a homicide investigation is underway. Why? Because a decomposed body has been found in Oliver’s apartment. As the timelines merge, the question shifts from "will they or won't they" to "which one of them is a sociopath?"

Refreshingly, the series has ditched the novel's original COVID-19 lockdown setting. Instead, the isolation is self-imposed and psychological, making the tension feel much more like a classic noir than a pandemic flashback we’d all rather forget.

The Cast: Gen Z Royalty Goes Dark

Let’s be real: casting Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia is a stroke of genius. Cameron, who has successfully transitioned from Disney darling to alt-pop queen and "Bad Idea" singer, brings a fractured, haunting energy to Ciara. Opposite her, Jogia, perpetually the coolest person in any room, plays Oliver with a charm that is just "off" enough to be suspicious.

Supporting the leads are Karla Souza and Dorian Missick, playing the detectives tasked with sorting through the literal and figurative mess left behind in Oliver's flat.

Behind the Scenes: Horror Royalty

If the trailer felt a little extra creepy, there’s a reason for that. Horror maestro James Wan (the mind behind The Conjuring and M3GAN) is executive producing via Atomic Monster. With Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher at the helm, the show promises a sleek, polished look that prioritizes atmosphere as much as the plot twists.

Final Word

Is 56 Days going to be the most intellectually stimulating show of 2026? Probably not. Is it going to be the show everyone is talking about at the water cooler (or the Slack channel) on February 19? Absolutely. With its blend of "eat-the-rich" aesthetics, genuine mystery, and a cast that is frankly too attractive for their own good, this is the binge-watch we deserve.

Mark your calendars for February 18, 2026 and maybe don't move in with anyone you met over a bag of kale. Stay tuned to The TV Cave for our full episode recaps and deep dives into who actually ended up under that floorboard.
