AMC and AMC+ just gave fans a reason to clear their schedules this February. The official trailer for Dark Winds Season 4 has landed, promising a tense, high-stakes thriller that takes the beloved Navajo Tribal Police team out of the reservation and into the gritty underbelly of 1970s Los Angeles. With eight hour-long episodes set to premiere Sunday, February 15 at 9 PM ET/PT, the series is already shaping up to be the noir event of the year.

Season 4 picks up with Lt. Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon), Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon), and Bernadette Manuelito (Jessica Matten) racing against the clock to find a missing Navajo girl. The case drags them far from the familiar landscapes of Navajo Nation into a dangerous web of organized crime, drug rings, and dark city secrets. The trailer immediately hints at a heightened sense of danger and stakes, with sweeping shots of Los Angeles streets, smoky interiors, and shadowy figures that feel ripped from a 1970s crime thriller.

Fans will also be thrilled to see Zahn McClarnon making his television directorial debut this season, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the series’ already rich storytelling. The cast expands with powerhouse additions including Franka Potente (Run Lola Run, The Bourne Supremacy) as Irene Vaggan, Isabel DeRoy-Olson as the determined teen Billie Tsosie, and Titus Welliver (Bosch) as ruthless crime boss Dominic McNair. Meanwhile, returning favorites like A. Martinez as Acting Chief Gordo Sena ensure continuity amidst the series’ exciting new direction.

Based on Tony Hillerman’s iconic Leaphorn & Chee novels and executive produced by legends Robert Redford and George R.R. Martin, Dark Winds has built a reputation for gripping storytelling and culturally grounded narratives. Its first three seasons scored a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, setting high expectations for this latest chapter. The trailer suggests Season 4 will deliver all the tension, suspense, and character-driven drama that fans have come to expect—plus a fresh cityscape twist that keeps the series unpredictable.

Whether you’re catching up on AMC+ or bingeing through The AMC Collection on Netflix, the trailer drop makes it clear: Dark Winds Season 4 is ready to keep audiences on edge. Mark your calendars, because February 15 isn’t just another Sunday—it’s a full-throttle descent into noir suspense you won’t want to miss.
