‘Cupertino’: CBS Orders New Legal Drama From Robert & Michelle King, Starring Mike Colter

CBS has officially greenlit Cupertino, a new legal drama from Evil creators Robert and Michelle King, marking a reunion between the Kings and Evil star Mike Colter.
Premise
Set in Silicon Valley, Cupertino is described as a “David vs. Goliath” legal show.Colter stars as a lawyer who’s fired by a tech start-up that tries to cheat him out of his stock options. Refusing to back down, he teams up with another recently fired attorney to represent others exploited by the tech elite, taking on powerful corporations in high-stakes legal battles against Silicon Valley’s biggest players.
Development
CBS ordered 12 episode scripts in May, then commissioned a writers’ room that opened in the fall.
The Kings will direct the pilot, serve as showrunners, and executive produce alongside Liz Glotzer.
The series is expected to debut during the 2026–27 TV season, alongside CBS’s delayed Einstein project.
Connections and Background
Fans of the Kings will recognize Colter from their acclaimed legal dramas The Good Wife and The Good Fight, where he portrayed Chicago drug lord Lemond Bishop.This new collaboration continues Colter’s ongoing partnership with the duo following his lead role as Father David Acosta on Evil.
