Brooke Shields Is Solving a Murder in Acorn TV’s New Series You’re Killing Me

Small towns, murder, and writers with too much time on their hands to ask questions? Sounds like our kind of mystery.

Acorn TV has released a first look teaser and photos for its upcoming original series You're Killing Me, a six-episode murder mystery starring and executive produced by Brooke Shields.

The series will premiere on the streaming service later this spring, and if you enjoy a cozy mystery with a little bite, this one might be worth adding to your watchlist.

Set in a charming (and presumably very murder-prone) New England town, the story follows bestselling novelist Allie (Shields). After the death of a close friend, Allie teams up with aspiring writer and podcaster Andi (Amalia Williamson) to track down the killer. Because when tragedy strikes, clearly the best response is to start your own amateur investigation.

Standing between them and the truth is, well, technically helping them, the town’s new lead detective Jack, played by Tom Cavanagh. Jack is a former big-city detective trying to adjust to the quirks of small-town life… which now includes a murder investigation and at least two civilians who are very invested in solving it.

The series was created by Robin Bernheim Burger and is a co-production between Topsail Entertainment and Shaftesbury.

Behind the scenes, Burger and Shields executive produce alongside James Genn, who also directs the first two episodes. Scott Smith will direct episodes three and four, while Paul Fox directs episodes five and six.

Between the cozy setting, the murder mystery premise, and a novelist-turned-sleuth leading the charge, You’re Killing Me already sounds like it has the ingredients for a very bingeable whodunit.

We’ll just have to wait until this spring to find out who actually did it.
