Move over, Dunkin’ there’s a new obsession in Massachusetts and it involves a lot more scowling and significantly more leather jackets. CBS just dropped the mid-season trailer for Boston Blue.
The Boston Blue mid-season trailer released this morning and it’s effectively a high-octane apology for that agonizing December cliffhanger. When we last saw the Reagan family’s favorite loose cannon, he was caught between his New York roots and a very bloody Boston reality. The new footage confirms that the second half of Season 1 isn't just doubling down on the drama; it’s bringing the family reinforcements.
The Silver Lining (and the Bloody Mess)
The trailer wastes no time addressing the Jonah Silver situation. After the mid-season finale left Jonah standing over Ronan Flaherty’s corpse, fans speculated whether Danny would actually "go rogue" to protect the kid. Spoiler: Danny Reagan doesn't know how to go any other way but the trailer is giving us any hints if he throws the playbook out the window.
Sonequa Martin-Green continues to be perfect as Lena Silver. Perhaps she will be the one to do what it takes to protect her brother. The chemistry between the two (Danny) remains the show’s strongest asset.

The Return of the King (Cariou)
The real "drop the mic" moment of the trailer comes at the forty-second mark. Just when it seems Danny is drowning in Boston’s bureaucratic red tape, we see the legendary Len Cariou reprising his role as Henry "Pop" Reagan. Watching Pop sit at a table with Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben) is the crossover content we need. Let's hope we get that scene.
Is Boston Blue Finding Its Rhythm?
The action sequences in the trailer look expensive, the stakes with Jonah feel genuinely personal and Danny looks like he’s finally stopped looking for a subway entrance in the middle of Copley Square.
Boston Blue returns to CBS on Friday, February 27, 2026. If the trailer is any indication, the back half of the season is going to be a wild, wicked-good ride.
