Beyond The Gates Weekly Recap - 10/13-10/17/25

This week on Beyond The Gates brought the drama. An impromptu wedding, an evil plot, a couple making a pivotal decision, and Kat trying to recreate her perfect night with Tomas. Let’s get into it.

Leslie / Ted / Nicole

Kat presses Nicole about Ted. How can Nicole judge her and Tomas when she’s willing to throw away thirty years of marriage over one lie from twenty years ago? Nicole’s cornered into revealing Ted’s latest indiscretion — which, dear writers, was assault. I cannot stress this enough: Leslie preyed on a vulnerable Ted. We get it, you love Leslie, but this wasn’t passion; it was predation.

Kat storms off to confront Ted and catches him with Leslie, who’s doing her best seductress routine. It’s sad to see such a beautiful woman so thirsty for a man who clearly doesn’t want her. Face tea, body tea...but the mind? Watered down decaf. Dear writers, the stronger story would be Leslie channeling her rage into revenge against those who wronged her. But we’ll come back to that in the wrap-up.

At Martin and Smitty’s private home wedding, Nicole and Ted share a tender moment before she flees, only to reappear later on his doorstep. Earlier, Leslie tried to stake her claim to Ted with June, but June held her ground like a queen. Kudos.

Andre / Dani / Hayley / Bill

We open with last week's scene of Dani giving Andre an out. After confiding in Ted at the hospital, Andre runs into Bland Ashley chatting with Elevator Baby’s mom, yes, that random and contrived story we’d all moved on from. They take selfies and somehow get invited to a Halloween party. Enter Derek, who still believes surprising Ashley at her wedding with his ability to walk will make her cry tears of joy instead of betrayal on HER WEDDING DAY. Sir, please. Enough.

Andre drowns his confusion at The Uptown, where he’s interrupted by Whiny Hayley accusing Dani of trying to steal “her man.” Andre swiftly corrects her: Bill isn’t acting like a possessive ex, he’s acting like a possessive husband. Ouch. She retreats, and for a fleeting second, I thought I’d ship them in the future. Andre has chemistry with everyone but Ashley. Honestly, I’d take Andre and Hayley before Andre/Ashley.

Meanwhile, Dani gifts Bill his old office key, now gold-plated and sentimental. Flashback time: Dani finding that office for him back in their golden era. Le sigh. Bill is moved and kisses her. And who walks up to witness this? Hayley, you got it in one guess. Watching her face crack was satisfying TV. Bill apologizes; Dani reminds him she’s married and leaves with her dignity. Hayley later confides in Randy, and we learn Bill’s been a mark all along. Twist!

Dani meets Andre at the uptown, and they choose to stay married. They have an honest conversation, and every time I want to get back on the ship, he has an encounter with Ashley, and I am back off.

Here is the issue with Andre and Bland Ashley, they had no build or backstory. I cannot understand why this worldly man would ever want her. The bigger problem is that they put Dani in the mix. If he and bland had chemistry and we actually had a back story to make it make sense, then yeah, it could have worked. BUT they put the beautiful, electric, Dani Dupree in the mix and now… It also hurts that he doesn’t have chemistry with her. Oddly, she hasn’t had chemistry with anyone but Naomi. Vanessa has chemistry with Joey, although I hate them together. She had it with Doug, not so much with the trainer but he was just bad overall. Ashley, just doesn’t have IT. Her character feels like she is just there.

I was hoping that seeing Hayley turn bad, her performance would somehow be better…….

Martin and Smitty

Short, sweet, and romantic. After a heartfelt proposal, they tie the knot again — simple, sincere, and long overdue. Love wins.

Weekly Wrap-Up

Leslie should’ve been on a revenge arc targeting the Duprees, Ted, Bill, maybe even be the mastermind behind Hayley making Bill her mark. Imagine that! Trisha could crush that material. Instead, Leslie’s stuck in thirsty caricature mode. Let her cook! Give her something Emmy-worthy. Same goes for Ambyr, Karla, Daphne, and Colby, all powerhouses with the ability, they just need the story.

Soap acting can be phenomenal (hello, countless Emmy winners), but a few need coaching. Hayley’s actress still telegraphs every line, and Tomas’s actor, fine as he is, can’t emote to save his life. He’s beautiful wallpaper with chemistry but no spark.

That said, I’m loving Devious Hayley. She’s finally fun again after her Dani obsession, whiny toddler era. Keep her scheming!

Aww, Nicole went to Ted, they embraced and seemed to be getting back together until bitter Leslie pulled the alarm, lesigh.

Thumbs Up 👍🏾

  • The Hayley Reveal – Pure soap gold. Vixen energy. Let her pay, then redeem her properly.

  • Bill and Dani Flashback – Gorgeous nostalgia. More of this emotional depth, please.

  • Andre Chooses Dani – Hesitant applause. Still side-eyeing the Bland One, though.

  • Less Ashley Airtime – Finally!

  • Pamela – Love Dani's best-friend.

Thumbs Down 👎🏾

  • Naomi’s Pregnancy Loop – Get a doctor involved already; the conversation is on repeat.

  • Leslie’s Winning Streak – We love her, but the plot armor is strong.

  • Kat – Missing a wedding to roll around with Tomas? Girl.

  • Vanessa & Joey – A package deal no one ordered. Did Vanessa ever truly love Doug?
