Anna Pigeon can keep her hiking boots handy. USA Network has officially renewed Anna Pigeon for Season 2, ensuring Tracy Spiridakos' crime-solving park ranger will have another round of mysteries waiting for her after the first season wraps.

The renewal arrives just two days before the Season 1 finale airs Friday, October 9, giving fans one less mystery to worry about before the episode begins. Whatever happens in the finale, Anna's television journey is not ending there.

USA Network Is Staying in the Anna Pigeon Business

Based on Nevada Barr's bestselling novels, Anna Pigeon stars Spiridakos as a former city dweller whose life changes following a devastating loss. She eventually becomes a park ranger and finds herself investigating crimes that unfold across national park grounds.

The combination gives USA Network something a little different from the standard procedural. Anna can find herself solving a crime while surrounded by gorgeous scenery, questionable suspects and the occasional reminder that being miles away from civilization is not always nearly as relaxing as the brochure makes it look.

Season 2 will continue following Anna as more mystery and adventure find their way into her life. Additional story details and a premiere date have not yet been announced.

Tracy Spiridakos Will Be Back as Anna

Spiridakos leads the series after wrapping her run as Hailey Upton on Chicago P.D., and Anna Pigeon gives the actress another complicated investigator to play while placing her in a very different world.

The first season's cast also includes Paulina Alexis, Ronnie Rowe, Tricia Helfer, Kim Coates, Crystle Lightning, Cooper Levy, Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz, Ryan Northcott, Nikki Rae Hallow, Jordan Sledz and Melanie Scrofano.

Showrunner Morwyn Brebner celebrated viewers embracing the character and the world of the series, while USA Network pointed to the show's connection with audiences as one of the reasons Anna's story will continue.

USA's Scripted Comeback Keeps Growing

The renewal also continues USA Network's push back into original scripted television. For a network that once built a huge part of its identity around dramas like Suits, Burn Notice, White Collar and Royal Pains, seeing another freshman scripted series make it to Season 2 feels significant.

Anna Pigeon gives USA a recognizable lead, an established book franchise and a format that can keep producing new mysteries without running out of places for Anna to explore anytime soon. For viewers who have followed Anna through her first season, they can now head into the finale knowing another adventure is already waiting beyond it.

The Anna Pigeon Season 1 finale airs Friday, October 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network. Season 2 does not yet have a premiere date.
