American Ninja Warrior Renewed for Seasons 19 and 20 at NBC — And There’s a Big Twist Coming

NBC is not ready to send American Ninja Warrior into retirement just yet. The network has officially renewed the long-running competition series for Seasons 19 and 20, giving fans plenty more chances to watch athletes attempt to conquer some seriously intimidating obstacles.

And because apparently one more season of watching people casually launch themselves at obstacles designed to humble even the fittest among us wasn't enough, NBC is already looking ahead to an even bigger celebration.

Season 19 of American Ninja Warrior is set to air in 2027, with Mt. Midoriyama returning to the competition. Production on Seasons 19 and 20 is expected to begin before the end of 2026, with all rounds of the competition filming in Las Vegas. But Season 20 is where things get particularly interesting.

NBC plans to celebrate the milestone 20th season with a special Summer of Champions event tied to the sport's inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games. The special is expected to feature former Olympians and elite ninja champions from more than 15 countries around the world.

So yes, American Ninja Warrior is getting another season. Actually, it's getting two. The renewal arrives as Season 18 comes to an end, continuing the show's run as one of NBC's longtime summer competition staples. The series continues to put athletes through physically demanding courses as they compete for the chance to reach the infamous Mt. Midoriyama and ultimately claim the grand prize.

For fans, the renewal means there is still plenty more American Ninja Warrior on the way. Season 19 will bring the competition back in 2027, while Season 20 is shaping up to be an especially notable installment thanks to the planned Olympic-themed celebration.

And honestly, if you've ever watched someone make it through an obstacle course that would have me asking for a snack and a nap halfway through, you already know this show has earned its longevity.
