Brooklyn Hit and Run Claims Life of Actress Kianna Underwood Former Nickelodeon Star Killed at 33 in Fatal Collision

Actress Kianna Underwood a former Nickelodeon child star best known for her work on the television series All That was killed in a hit and run incident in Brooklyn early Friday morning according to law enforcement officials. The fatal collision occurred on January 16th in the Brownsville neighborhood and remains under investigation by the New York Police Department.
Police said Underwood who was 33 years old was crossing the street at an intersection shortly before 7 a.m. when she was struck by a black SUV traveling through the area. Emergency medical responders arrived shortly after the collision and pronounced Underwood dead at the scene. No arrests have been made and police have not yet identified the vehicles or drivers involved. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from the surrounding area and continue to seek information from the public.
Investigators stated that video evidence shows the SUV dragging Underwood for a distance before she was dislodged and left in the roadway near a nearby intersection. Police have not released further details regarding the speed of the vehicles or whether traffic signals were involved at the time of the crash.
Kianna Underwood rose to prominence as a child actress in the early 2000s. She appeared in multiple episodes of Nickelodeon’s long running sketch comedy series All That during its 2005 season. She also provided voice work for the animated series Little Bill where she voiced the character Fuchsia Glover for several seasons. In addition to her television work Underwood performed on stage including a role in the national tour of the musical Hairspray portraying the character Little Inez.
Police confirmed that the case is being handled by the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad. Anyone with information regarding the incident or the vehicle involved has been urged to contact authorities.
