The three lives she’s been living these last few years are all converging into one future. If only she can manage to put her foot down and pick one. The LAST thing she needs is flirty Flynn Kingman adding to her increasing pile of stress.Last year of college is rarely what you expect.  Thoughts: Okay, lots to discuss with this one mi gente.  I love the Kingman family. I love this series. I love the messages of body positivity. I love the GREENness of their flags.  This book is no different. It has all the classic makings of an Amy Award banger. Sexy football players, sassy plus size boss babes, spice, banter and the Kingman series trademark…an adorable animal companion.  Burrito Petito is an easily startled, fast moving baby donkey who crashed his way into Flynn’s life and led him to his future. He is the eating machine responsible for the creation of the Donkey Sitters Club and became a viral sensation when he blew everyone away with his skill at avoiding some of the schools best defensemen.  AbuelaNovela, who we meet in the novella The Lion in the Library (part of the To L.A with Love anthology) is wonderfully dramatica and sassy. The support she shows her familia, and Tempest especially, is beautiful and hilarious.  My favorite part of the book was the representation. Seeing plus sized Latine folks in romance books is rare. Even more so when the series was all white until this book (and its prequel novella). Amy Award did a great job with Tempest, a plus size Latine fem. The Navarro familia shows the truth about Latine families. They are just like every other family. The Kingman family have always given me Latine familia vibes, as they remind me much of my own in some ways. However seeing the Navarro familia, that representation, it hit so close.  Tempest is a plus size Latina trying to balance her familias expectations with her own “unrealistic” dreams for her future. She has a flamboyant abuela, ex futbol playing abuelo, type A older sisters, wilder little sisters and a familia that always comes around. Swap the sisters for brothers and you’ve basically got the Kingman family.  Sometimes representation can be reminding us that we really aren’t all that different at our core. Representation can come in many ways, big and small and I think Amy Award did a great job reminding us all that the world is bigger and more diverse than what we may be shown on a regular basis. It’s also a lot smaller once you realize how similar we really are.  We’re getting down to the last three Kingman “kids”, and I’m so excited to see them get their loves as well. He’s also a hopeless romantic, who’s got heart eyes for Dani. When an out of context picture of the two of them on campus goes viral, they decide to capitalize on the attention it’s brought to Zaf’s organization, while giving Dani the release she’s looking for.  Thoughts: This is book two in the Brown Sisters series and I love this one even more than the first (No shade to Chloe of course!).  Dani is a hilariously intelligent, spiritual, bi sexual, body positive and sex positive babe who had my heart out the gate! Her drive to be the best in her field and her hilariously bleak outlook on love, makes her totally relatable. She has a hyper focus for two things in life, her career and her orgasms. Relationships just get in the way for her and to be honesty, I feel her. Zaf is such a dream. He’s a former Rugby player who is still involved in the sport, and reads romance novels. What’s not to like? Zaf’s love for his family and his drive to help young people learn the mental health skills he needed when he still played, just makes me want to hold him and never let him go. Oh and did I mention the spice and some cameos from our fav Brown woman and even Red himself?This book is recommended for anyone looking for something slightly spicy but with a LOT of heart. On paper, it sounds absurd, improv actors recruited by British intelligence to go undercover in a criminal underworld. In execution? Somehow, it works. And it works surprisingly well. This isn’t a deep, thought-provoking drama. It’s not pretending to be high art. But if you're in the mood for a ridiculous, laugh-out-loud action comedy that knows it's ridiculous and runs with it, then Deep Cover  is worth a couple of hours of your time. And honestly, it’s a rare treat to find a comedy that manages to feel fresh in 2025. Deep Cover: The Plot: Ridiculous and Proud of It The story centers on a group of struggling improv actors who get swept up into a real-life spy mission. British intelligence, for some reason that no one, including the characters, fully understands, believes their improvisational skills make them ideal undercover agents. It’s the kind of premise you expect to fall apart within the first 15 minutes, but the film leans into its weirdness so confidently that it’s impossible not to go along for the ride. It kicks off with Kat, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, a burnout improv coach with the kind of withering sarcasm you’d expect from someone who’s been teaching yes-ands for too long. Her team is a delightful mess: Marlon (Orlando Bloom), a narcissistic method actor who thinks he’s God’s gift to theater; Hugh (Nick Mohammed), who might pass out from anxiety at any moment; and a handful of other lovable weirdos who genuinely feel like people you’ve seen try to sell tickets outside a black box theater. What follows is part Ocean’s Eleven , part Spinal Tap , and part fever-induced daydream. The Cast: Orlando Bloom Unleashed There’s no subtle way to say it, Orlando Bloom absolutely goes off in this movie. And not in the graceful Legolas way. No, here he’s all swagger, bad accents, and full-blown theatrical tantrums. It’s unhinged, it’s chaotic, and it’s fantastic. You can tell he’s having the time of his life playing a character who thinks every undercover mission is a one-man Shakespearean tragedy. Bryce Dallas Howard, as Kat, manages to be the grounding force. She plays it with a weary wit that feels completely real, like the only adult in the room who still showed up to play along. And Nick Mohammed brings such lovable awkwardness to his role that you kind of root for him to fumble his way into spy greatness. Even the villains bring their A-game. Paddy Considine and Ian McShane are clearly enjoying themselves, chewing through lines with charm and menace. And yes, Sean Bean is in it. No, he doesn’t die. That alone makes Deep Cover  historic. What Works: Energy, Chaos, and Actual Laughs The best part of Deep Cover  is that it never takes itself seriously. Not for a second. It’s fast-paced, clever, and filled with blink-and-you’ll-miss-it jokes that reward paying attention. The dialogue is quick and sharp, but the real gold is in the physical comedy and over-the-top reactions. Think Hot Fuzz  but with more jazz hands. The cast has chemistry that feels genuine.
